  1. My first gun was a H&R single shot .20 ga. that my father bought for me when I was 8, I still remember going to Kmart to buy it.

When I was around 11 it was stolen from our home.

Fast forward 8 years, I get a call from the Anderson County Sheriffs Office saying that they have recovered a firearm that belongs to me.

I'm glad it made its way back home.

I tried different soft lens without success due to the level of astigmatism I have but mostly compounded by how my eyes contaminated soft lenses. Then I tried gas permeable hard lenses which worked great until dry eye problems came into play. If your eyes produce the right level of moisture I'd discuss this with your eye doctor. But if your comfortable with having LASIK done and fall into the desirable perimeters then think about that.

This sounds like my situation, I also have a high degree of astigmatism.  I've tried hard lenses before, they're a no go for me and lasik is not going to be an option (cost) any time soon.

  3. I have a pretty high degree of astigmatism, I've worn contacts in the past, but stopped because one of the contacts would rotate and I would have blurred vision.

I'm tired of wearing glasses and I'm thinking about returning to contacts.

I'd like to know if anyone here has any first hand experience and if there have been any advances in the last 8 years.

    Thanks

  4. I must be like holster lube hippy then, I just use the bacon grease straight from the pan.  If you apply while the grease is still warm it penetrates better.  (That applies in other situations as well ;))

Saw all I needed to see with their choice of holster on their webpage.

There is a dirty little secret to all of this, want a faster draw? Practice.

  6. I spent all day New Years Eve under my kitchen sink snaking the drain below the floor, replacing the old under sink drain, and installing a new disposal.  After watching that complete and total cluster, I feel much better about it now, thank you!

Looks like he learned the hard way that duct tape loses it adhesion once it's wet.

Well that depends. I honestly believe yoga pants, as well as spandex pants, should not come in XXL. Yoga pants and spandex were never meant to be worn by someone who has to pour themselves into an XXL. The materials used to make spandex must be some strong material, I cannot imagine the tensile strength they have in order to survive some of the bodies they are holding in.

As an old friend of mine says:  "Girl, just because they make it in your size doesn't mean you have to wear it."

    TGO David;

I have been "killed "more times than I can count in FOF scenarios. That pushing to a failure point, and learning from that experience, is invaluable imho.

My first FOF experience was with you, you promptly shot me square in the left nipple.  I learned.

    timcar86, thanks for posting.

Ummmmm.......and I always thought it was an empty gun that would get you killed.  The ballistic coefficient of an empty mag is not very good.

Wow, I thought I laced that so thick with sarcasm that it would be clear to anyone it was a joke.

Empty guns don't get you killed, bad decisions before your gun runs out of pew pew gets you killed.

  11. They've gotten a lot more attention since the World Cup and the Olympics.  I've traveled all over Northern Brazil and only once felt in danger, and even then I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when two groups of youths decided to go at it. Spent a week in Rio with zero issues, just like anywhere else in the world, avoid the bad areas.
