  1. I just read this morning that it's not stationary cameras, but hand held laser/video cameras that uniformed police officers will use. So they just sit there, shoot and record, then you get your ticket in the mail.

Many say it's good to use new technology if it helps slow people down and make our community safer. I say bring back old technology... speed bumps. Cheap and effective.
  2. I know some people hate 'em...but in my experience they don't understand them and therefore wear them wrong. I'm talking about a bellyband holster.

By "bellyband" you mean girdle right? I wondered how you stay so trim!

Seriously though, if it were my son getting married I would carry, OWB with jacket cover, my wife is cool with it.

Sounds like your wife isn't so cool with it?

If my wife wasn't down with it, I'd just make sure that I invited some of my buddies like prag, Spiffy, dmeadows, and Rickey. If the chit went down I'd just cover my wife on the floor (yeah baby yeah) and let them take care of business.

I'm sure prag would have at least one extra he could toss me if it turned into an extended gun fight.

A more likely scenario, Spiffy would confront them, DMeadows would grab them, Rickey would hit them on the head with a beer bottle, and prag would stop the bleeding.

Edit: If the Brazilian place gives you a hard time just look at them and say "Vai cargar no mato!" That's right fools, I sprechen!!

All jokes aside, I hope your family has a joyous day and your son has many happy years of marriage with lots of kids!

  3. I thought that thing only drove around my neighborhood. Annoying as hell but I have to admit sometimes that clapping gets my groove going, lol.

I guess they all use the same soundtrack now.  This is it here:

I turned my phone up and played that video, within 10 seconds my 10 year old son was in my room looking for the ice cream truck!! I wish I could call turkeys that well.

  4. There is no federal law against having firearms in a commercial vehicle.

I would like to know what federal/state law they cite for not allowing guns. I guess it would be illegal in some states, NY and Cali for example. Maybe they think it's just easier for them to say it's a complete ban instead of saying "It may be illegal in certain states..." and leaving it up Joe Citizen to know. (I doubt that would end well)

I wonder if a carrier that transported a person with a pistol into one of those states would be violating any laws?

  5. I can't ever recall having a malfunction that I would blame on weak factory ammo. I had a run of Winchester white box a few years ago that had very hard primers, but that doesn't really pertain to the question.

I don't know the velocities of all factory 9mm, or how "weak" it might be, but my comp./practice hand loads only run about 970fps with a 133gr lead bullet. The hand loads feel weaker/have less recoil than any factory ammo I've shot, if they (hand loads) were causing malfs, I wouldn't be using them.

  6. primarily I want to cast and powder coat for my .308. At some point I also want to do 45 acp and 38 sp. Maybe even some 12 ga slugs

I can't give you any advice on the .308, but the range lead you're getting should be fine for .45, .38, and Slugs without adding anything to harden it up.

Do a search for Dolomites super wizbang powder coating thread and that should answer any questions about that.
