URGENT - Park Carry in Anderson County to be Decided!
BrasilNuts replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Not much of a letter writer, but here is what I sent. Mr. Gillenwaters, My name is James XXXXXXX. I have been a resident of Oak Ridge since 1974, I am a Christian, a father and a husband. In 2006 I decided to get my Handgun Carry Permit (HCP) so that no matter where I was or what happened I could protect my loved ones and myself. I am sure that you are aware that to obtain a HCP in the state of Tennessee the applicant has to go through a background check and also a 8 hour training course. Like all other HCP holders that I know, the carrying of a handgun in public is not a responsibility that I take lightly and I have come to realize that it makes me a more alert and aware person. I carry my handgun concealed, if our kids were playing together in the park and we were sitting next to each other you would never know that I was armed. HCP holders are law abiding citizens, if they weren’t they would not have gone through the trouble of getting a HCP. On the other hand criminals are not law abiding citizens. They are always looking for a opportunity to take advantage of any situation. I don’t think a criminal that is planning to rape, rob or murder a person is going to let a misdemeanor gun law stop them. It’s not often you hear people talk about gun control without hearing the words ‘common sense.’ Well, when it comes down to it here is the ‘common sense’ about park carry, HCP holders will obey the law and will not carry in parks. Criminals, who do not obey laws, will continue to carry in parks regardless of what you or any other politician wants. Sir, I pray that you use a little common sense. God bless, James XXXXXXXX -

Newsweek editor: Obama is sort of a god (video)

Sorry, I didn't mean examples of gods, I meant examples of it being said that they are the only god. No need to show examples for Yahweh (Christian God), we have all seen those. -

I'm in... Ruby's sounds good, but it may be a bit cramped for our group. -
Been there... well, didn't do that, but I've been there.

Winchester 90-22 rifle price.
BrasilNuts replied to BrasilNuts's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I don't think that rags came with the rifle, but at the least they are very old. The wax paper does seem do be original as well as some 3"x3" cotton patches that are in the box. Also the oil can still has some of the original oil in it. edit: I have never held another one of these rifles before so I really don't have anything to compare it to, but this rifle is very tight and cycles perfectly. The barrel is the original and is in great condition on the inside. My buddy said that he thinks it has around 1000 rounds through it. -

I have a 1897 that has exactly the same look as this .22, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they use to brown guns? -
As I type this my wife is trying to get our 3 yo ball of energy to go to sleep. He has been up since 8 am and has been going strong all day with no nap. It's like running a marathon. You ran a marathon today without training for it. I have been in training for 3 years and have about 20 more to go. Who has the sig line that says "Having children is like getting pecked to death by a chicken everyday?";)

This one is a .22LR and has what appears to be a browned finish not blued. -

It belonged to his Grandfather and he said that his Gfather refered to it as a gallery gun. It is really a beatiful little rifle and I would love to have one like it...new guns just don't have the same feel. We are going to go and put a few rounds through it next Saturday. How would I go about estimating the condition of the rifle? -
MMMMMMMMmmm.... that's purdy I tell ya what!

It's a one box limit per shift....

This Winchester 90-22 belongs to a friend of mine and he is trying to find out what it would be worth so he can insure it. He thinks that this is the original wooden box and oil can.

Just out of curiosity... How much would you charge for some of those knives? I would like to get a matching pair for me and my brother and for the grip use some black walnut that my father and I cut before he died. When you get set up I am very interested.

My wife and son are still asleep in our bed and I was just sitting here thinking how thankful I am that I have a job, food in the fridge and a roof over our heads. I am thankful that when I turn on the faucet water comes out and it is safe to drink. I am thankful that our electricity is on 24/7 and we don't have power rationing. I am thankful for roads that don't look like a mortar range due to all the pot holes. I am thankful that I don't have to go through 2 check points to get to the market. I am thankful that when I went to the hospital to see my new great nephew that the odor of old urine didn't knock me out when I walked through the doors. Last, but not least, I am thankful for all the people on this site... I have learned a thing or ten here.

As of 6:45 am OR walmart had, Blazer 9mm and .40, WWB 9mm, .40 and .45. I scored WWB 9mm ($19.97) and .45 ($29.97.) Edit: I was so excited to see the .45 I forgot to ask if they had Fed. bulk .22
-
I didn't hear anybody yell....CONTACT! How about a few more rolls and flips next time?
-
OR walmart has, according to the worker, "a lot" of Blazer 9mm, but you have to ask for it because they keep it hidden under the register. He said they had more 9mm inbound for tomorrow and also bulk .45.
-
Me either, but I have had a few days that I was grateful that I wasn't pooping anymore. I got soaked going into walmart, but I came out with 100 rds of 9mm. I am thankful for the rain and that we are not in drought conditions anymore. And to second Bronker, my family is safe and I am saved... It's a great day!

That was a good joke, but if I had come up with it I would have asked you to put your nose on the red dot.
