1. Picked up these two beauties for my personal collection. the steel match weight (11oz) adds a nice balance to the full frame pistol
2. Sig is going to be releasing the P365XL. I was thinking about picking up a P365 but I think I may wait and get the xl. I like that it has the RMR cutout already on the slide. Sig P365xl
3. Ever since i saw the movie No country for old men, i wanted a suppressed shotgun. I started off with a factory Rem 870 express and had Sterling Arsenal Works do the barrel chop, choke adapter threading and Vang Comp sight system upgrades. They cerakoted it and did a little custom bolt fluting. Its a blast to shoot with the Salvo 12 and really helps manage the recoil/kick. Not as fun to shoot without the silencer on a 12" barrel (left bruises on my shoulder). Anyways, here a little video of the shotty YouTube Video
4. the 507C is the dual reticle feature so you can switch between the dot or reticle. I feel like i can pickup the retical much faster.
5. Try a Holosun 507C. I have one on my pistol and love it. I actually like shooting with it better than my RMR. Great features and cost less, and has same footprint as the RMR so you can run it on the same slide.
6. Yeah I’m pretty sure I was the first to get em in Nashville. Possibly in TN. Since it uses the glock internals and basically the same dimensions it’s familiar feel of shooting a glock but better. You do get a higher grip on it since it has the cutouts so maybe that’s why it feels softer. I’m looking forward to getting the longer slides and trying it out in those setups. I may shoot over to Owl Hollow tomorrow if anybody wants to join and check it out.
7. Thoughts on the new ZRODelta Modulus pistols? I ordered these back in November and just got them in this month. I got to take it out to the range for the first time last week and very pleased with the way it shoots. The all metal construction gives it a nice balanced fee. It’s solid and feels softer shooting than a factory G19. The key feature is its modular construction. Dust cover, grip sections, slide and mag wells can be changed out. It uses Glock internals (gen 3 trigger system). Slide has red dot cut out already and can use the different adaptor plates for your specific red dot. This is in the compact setup but the duty and race versions will be available later. So far I really like it and have gotten positive feedback from those who have put their hands on one.
8. anybody had a animal headdress that i could borrow for a night?  Got an event that I'm going to and want to wear it.  Something like a wolf, mountain lion, bear.  i know its a long shot, but thought i would check.   Willing to pay a little or do some cerakote work in exchange.  Please message me if anyone has something cool.   Thanks
9. Not sure if that was a question but yes. That's what I did. You have to understand that the owner purchased this with the understanding that the slide was damaged and that he wasn't going to dump money into getting it fixed. I offered to try to make it look better at no cost and they took me up on the offer. After looking at the damage I told them there wasn't much I could do and the only other option would be to try to have the surface milled down but they would have had to remove a lot of metal. He told me whatever I do would be an improvement so go for it. From my experience, getting the slide machined is too expensive. I've had slides milled before and even machines shops that do this type of work regularly and have CNC programs already in place, the cost wouldn't be worth it. You could buy a new/used stripped g17 slide for less money if he wanted this to Be back to original state.
10. I don't know for sure what happened. Just going off what the previous owners told me. Yeah, if I had to guess, the slide was probably rusted pretty bad and the holes are from rust pits. I agree that media blasting a healthy slide wouldn't do that kind of damage. The indents would be more uniform. I just used JB cold weld compound. Let it cure and sand it down.
11.   yes.  it had problems going into battery but did not really feel sticky. The frame looks okay.  The stripper on the slide is pitted a little and not smooth but wouldn't think that would be the issue.  I cleaned up the inside channels on the slide and when i rack it back and forth it feels nice and smooth.  Will find out tomorrow how she shoots.
12. Well, here is an update on the G17... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/88355-g17-read-disclamer/ BEFORE SURGERY MEDIA BLASTED THE FINISH. REVEALED ALL OF THE DAMAGE "MOON CRATERS" IN THE SLIDE. ALL OF THE BLACK YOU SEE IS WHERE I HAD TO FILL IN. ONLY WAY TO FIX THE AREAS AROUND THE SERRATIONS WAS TO FILL IT IN COMPLETELY. SO NO MORE SERRATIONS. AFTER SURGERY. THE FILL INS AROUND THE SERRATIONS ARE NOT PERFECT. PROBABLY COULD HAVE USED ANOTHER ROUND OF FILL/SANDING, BUT ITS DEFINITELY AN IMPROVEMENT FROM BEFORE. PLAN ON TAKING IT OUT TOMORROW TO SEE IF IT WILL SPIT OUT 115GR WITHOUT ISSUES. THEN BACK TO ITS OWNER. 13. yup. That's what I'm hoping.
14. dry firing isn't going to do a thing.  the mag spring is the issue.
15. yeah, i will probably end up carrying the 8 round.  This was going to by my summer carry setup, so i was trying to get it small as possible.  In the winter G19 it its ;)
16. i tried smacking it in there to get it to catch, but it has to be pressed really hard against a wall or table to get it to set.  Trying to do it just by hand just isn't doing it.  Im gonna keep the mag loaded to keep the springs compressed to see if it helps.  Since the 8 round and 7 round mags use the same springs, its not surprising that the 7 round is harder to push in.
17.   wait what????   when did I accuse the seller of being a crook?  I made a statement in my post that I'm guessing that this was the reason why he sold it.  That is not accusing of him bing a crook.     I am selling my brand new Smith and Wesson Shield. Why? I guess I have more Glock in my blood than I thought. I just wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I would be. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/90198-trades-added-sw-shield-9mm-carry-package-450-for-all/   The seller did a good job of coordinating the transaction and the price was fair.  This is an issue with the mag so i am not overly concerned.
18. who said i was pushing it in there gently?
19. I agree. If I buy a "brand new" gun, it should function right out of the box. I shouldn't have to use a table to force a mag into a gun. There is a difference between a good tap or firmly pressing a mag into the frame to engage the mag catch, and not being able to insert a mag without assist. If this was normal, SW would have written in their manual: "to insert full mag, put the mag base against a solid surface and press down firmly with two hands until it seats. After a few hundred rounds, you will be able to insert the mag without using table." This is an issue with the mag spring. I'm going to try to find some other mags and see if it makes a difference. I have no problems with my 8 round mag.
20. I know that the slide is supposed to lock back after the last round, but on a Glock you can release the slide forward on an empty mag without having to drop the mag first.  I can accept this if this is how the gun was designed to function.  Just want to make sure that mine isn't the exception.   As far as the mag issue, if i insert a fully loaded 7 round mag with the slide back, then chamber the round, i have 6+1.  But I'm trying to do 7+1, which means, i have to drop the mag add the 7th round in again and back in the same situation trying to put a fully loaded mag into the gun with the slide forward.
21. I cannot seat it with my hand. I literally have to push down on the gun with the mag on the table. I know why I was a glock person now.. Guessing the reason why the previous owner sold it..
22. I could see it being a little resistance and requiring a firm tap on the mag but that's not the case.   it takes so much force that I hve to push down on the gun with the mag against a table in order to seat the mag. This cant be normal.
23. I just picked up a shield.  Im a Glock guy so not that familiar with M&Ps.  Got a couple questions for you Shield owners     1)  Is it normal that the slide will not to go into battery with no round in the magazine?  I tried to pulling back on the slide and trying pull down on the slide stop and it will not go into battery unless there is a round in the mag or taking the mag out.   2)  With the slide forward, the 8 round mag will go into the gun with no problems, but i cannot get the 7 round mag to go into the gun with 7 rounds in the mag.  Anybody else have this problem?  I am trying to do 7 +1 and it just not happening.  Seems like the spring is way too stiff.  I took the springs out from the 7 round and 8 round mags and they look the same.   Thanks
24. cool. i'll message you my info and we can coordinate on this end.
25. This might work!  glowdot, maybe i could do some cerakote work for you?
