Knox County Sherriffs Deputy chokes out handcuffed suspect.
jacob replied to 10-Ring's topic in General Chat
choke holds involving using the arms to block blood flow in the neck are safe (ie rear naked choke), although you have to take care to release the hold after consciousness is lost or brain damage will occur...that hold pictured would definitely have a high probability of causing trauma to the throat...Although it would piss most people off, having someone spit in your face shouldn't warrant a pass of choking them with your hands.. -

Rendezvous is highly overrated IMHO...the novelty value of restaurant is ok...but the BBQ is no better than the "fast food " variants...

I would suggest Interstate BBQ...nothing fancy but good BBQ...
The Republican trifecta is secure for a while, they know Tennessee isn't going Democratic for at least another few elections. Pissing off voters isn't a concern because it's not like there is any serious Democratic opposition to capitalize on the letdown in Republican voter enthusiasm would bring. This is how legislation dies with a wink and a nod when one party has complete control.
all the more reason to try to get these guys out at a grassroots level if possible....I wonder how many of these politicians run unopposed?

I guess he didnt want to have to eat his words and sign a bill for OC if the legislature passed one...so lets undermine the process in the legislature to ensure it doesnt go to the floor for a vote....priceless...

He also clarified his position in post #77 & #80....he even specified that the prefatory clause about the militia had NOTHING to do with the people's right to keep and bear arms....
-
doesn't make sense, but wouldn't surprise me. if the state allows open carry and the guy is not CC, but has a permit what would be the deal? I could see if they were CC with no CC permit...
-
that's a fairly succinct explanation...lol

no one in the thread has asserted that "mandatory training standards" should be a requisite for laying claim to 2A rights. the only thing I have read is that if someone considers carrying a gun in public that they should invest time in training firearm operation/proficiency and educate themselves in the firearms laws of the state(s) that they would be carrying a firearm. while I agree that gov't should not mandate "training" as qualification to exercise the 2A right, I do feel that it is OUR obligation as gun owners to encourage others to constantly practice and train to become proficient in handling and shooting firearms, in whatever discipline we choose (i.e. self defense, target shooting, hunting, etc). I will say that while I would possibly feel a little uncomfortable knowing that some "gomer" could carry a gun thinking he is clint eastwood, that by no means should prevent him from being able to exercise that right if he so chooses. the thing to remember is that rights have responsibilities, and carrying a gun is a BIG responsibility...
Depends on who you ask now doesn't it? Some judges have said that the militia does not have anything to do with the 2nd as in "...shall not be infringed." Is it your belief that you only have the right to bear arms if you were in a militia? Since the Feds had no standing army they called militias from the individual states, and the states formed militias.
doesnt answer the question I asked....did you read post 71?? that should give you an idea of what my thoughts on 2A are...
-
so why was the term well regulated included in the 2A?
So, you think a bunch of farmers or city folk in the 1700's trained regularly, and that's what they meant? That must be the same place where they said everyone must drive a Corvette.
you think they just hung em over the fireplace for decoration?? or left em in the gun rack on the wagon?? I dont think they trained in the sense that we train today, but most people who have studied the founders pretty much agree that "well regulated" meant well trained...not regulated through laws like the gun grabbers would have us believe...but, of course, YMMV...
