  1. Dont hate the hoarder, hate the game. Will snith - Bad Boyz 2 You know its hard out here for a hoarder Terance Howard - Hustle and Flow This hoarding will turn you into a sexual Tyrannousaurus Jesse Ventura - Predator He didnt hit you, he hoarded you, and hoarding, son, thats racing Robert Duvall - Days of Thunder Mike.357 I owe you a box of .45 ...and almost want to give ya another one after reading your rant on a certain ammo profiteering butthead on another TN website. LOL
  2. First off, there is a difference between hoarders and profiteers. I have been building my stash since I saw ammo prices going up in 06, and again in the winter of 07 and sproing of 08. I considered this good planing, looking for the future, whatever you want to call it. now I have a very good supply, but I do still buy ammo when I find a good deal. I didnt start buying ammo cases at a time, but boxes. Most of the people now who are griping about the prices now are the same ones who asked me why I was buying Bricks of Wolf Match Extra from Widners, then shook their heads and said I was crazy for buying up all that ammo when I could be putting that money in stocks, or Money markets or IRA's. I would laugh and tell them that I was investing in "precious metals" I doon't sell ammo on here, or GB, or anywhere else, but if I did, I would get fair market price for it. If WW is charging $20 for WWB .45 ACP FMJ, then I would sell them for at least that, as would anybody else reading this, Even if it has a sticker saying $12 on it. Thats the investment in "precious metals" paying off. But again I dont sell ammo. I agree with everybody else here, hoarders and seekers alike, that gthe guys who are buying up all the ammo at WW, then selling it at a big markup online, are bad for the situation. But now peolpe are becoming "glad" that WW is going to limit purchases to 2-4 boxes. How "glad " will you be if WW adopts that as a policy that never goes away, even when ammo is plentiful again? If you do feel the need to get on the board and complain about the price and availability of ammo, please change your avatar from your dresser harley, collectable , muscle, or pimped out car, 26' Searay ski boat, timeshare in G'Burg, your 12 ARs, 25 Sigs or whatever. Nuff said on that one. I really do feel for ya'll who didnt have the vision, money, ability, or sense to stock up when the prices were good. I also feel for the guys who do have the vision, money, ability, or sense to stock up and are now having to slow down from their diet of 250-500 rounds a week since ammo went up. :uck was with me, and by using a budget, good planning, amd reading the news and making up my own decisions about what things mean, I can keep on shooting for a while. Please dont hate me for not believing everything I read in the rag in Knoxville that everybody calls a paper. LOL I really didnt mean for this to get so long, so *RANT OFF*, So I will close this by saying, Dont hate the hoarder, hate the game. You know its hard out here for a hoarder This hoarding will turn you into a sexual Tyrannousaurus He didnt hit you, he hoarded you, and hoarding, son, thats racing 1 box af 230gr S&B .45 ACP FMJ to whoever in the Knoxville area can identify the movies and actors that I cannibalized those lones from. 3. After you put a few 1000 downrange, you wont notice it any more. but new, or used, they all do it.
  4. Wondered when someone would mention that
  5. Intervention Time!!!!!! Yake the 1911, leave the Canoli.
  6. yeah. 9.25 in Knox Co, and 9.75 in Hamblen Co, where my route is
  7. OHShoot, that info is out of date. Vending machines were changed over from gross recieprs rax to sales and use tax in 00-02, so all vending machine operators, whether blind or sighted, now pay tax. I collect and send to the state 9.75% of all sales vs. the previous 1% gross reciepts tax. Made no difference to me since that is collected from the purchaser and sent to the state, not out of my pocket. Spuds, the part aboour an exemption for the blind is also a moot point as the TBE vendors and the State licensing Agency "Tennessee Business Enterprises" agreed in 2004 to ignore that exemption and start paying county andsd city business taxes to reduce the loaboloty of legal actions on a unfair business practices. Not fl;aming, just clarifying as I am one of those blind venndors, and do pay ALL of my taxes. LOL

    GREEN

you can break em down, but i dont recommend it, took me HOURS to get my brothers .45 back together. Also, after it was cleaned, had the usual jamming problems again for a couple mags worth of ammo. Also I dont think the green is a "finish" I think it is krylon and Im not joking, thinner than sigs finish. One other thing is they are very suseptable to "limp wristing" even worse than a 1911. Mike, I have seen em a couple places this week, Gunslingers in Kingsport, JFlotds in Sevierville, but not ast CCA or Sevier Indoor Range. Someone told me they are the number one selling gun in the country right now because there is no shortage of them at all.
  9. Makes sende, Thanks 70below Sorry to hijackk your thread Sarah!
  10. yeah, my old Stevens single says "410" not 410 gauge Sooooooo, why do you shoot a .410 thru a handgun that shoots .45LC, and Not .41 Mag? for hull expansion, or because the Brass is .45 OD? That would be too easy right?
  11. What is "Gauge" The diameter of the shell is gauge, in handguns and fifles it is caliber and is expressed as a decimal and is based on an English inch, or metric millimeter: .45, 9mm There are several more gauges than 12G and 20 G :10, 12, 16, 20, 28, 410 smaller number is larger shell, Slugs are one big lead projectile,"bullet", om the shell buckshot is several larger pellets nimbering between 6 and 24 in one shell #000 thru #4, again with the lower number being the larger "projectiles" birdshot is the smallest projectiles of all, they range from #4 to #9with #4 being the same size as the buckshot and having about 24 "pellets in one shll. to #9 which is much smaller than a bb and can have almost 200 pellets in a shell lesson over as far as recommendations, find what fits you best. my wife has shot aall of my shotguns at one time or another, and she actually owns 2. She has a Winchester 1300 youth model in 20G, and she shoots it with Improved cylinder choke tube. She also has a NEF Handi rifle in .22 LR and 410G with interchangable barrels. She is a small woman. She has shot all of nmy single shot shotties (10, 12, 16, 20, and 410G), and all 3 of my HD shotties all in 12G, but does not like the Remington 870 with the VC barrel, or the benelli, loves the Mossberg500, but the stock is too large for her. and all my Semi autos, Remington model 11, 1100 and 11-87, Verona SX405, and all of my doubles, she only likes the Cimmaron Coach gun, side by side barrel 12G On a HD shotgun, I advise no choke in the barrel, most short barrels 18.5 to 20", do not have a choke Whatever you buy, PRACTICE with it. it will do you no good if you dont know how to use itt. my wife uses low recoil skeet shells (#8 birdshot) to practice with and finishes up with a tube or 2 of heavier shells with more recoil, which is how I load them at home. 1 3" mag#4 turkey load, 3 #00 Buckshot, and 3 slugs. 1st shell is for the first shot at "nose to nose" range and as a less lethal alternativeand Very very loud so the neighbors will wake up and call the cops, next 3 are to put them down if they are still in the house, last 3 are for longer ranges if they are running like a rabbit. Disclaimer: all of this is my own humble opinion and is not from any class, course, or seminar. Just my own common sense, or at least it makes sense to me
  12. Just picked up the cimmaron coach in 12G at Sevier Indoor Range today for $500 OTD. Brsautiful Stock and gloss finish on the blueing.
  13. JWP As a business owner, do you ever wish you had a room like the architect in the matrix so you could watch all the bonehead things your employees do while your somewhere besides perched ion their right shoulder? Or possibly a "professor peabody's way back machine" LOL, I KNOW I do
  14. hey magic, East town still has guns, and gallaher view. Jeff City and Sevierville. Not sure about others. And forget looking for handgun ammo at any of them unless your real lucky
  15. Didn't Taurus buy up a bunch of Smith and Wesson and Beretta's Tooling molds and machine s when they did a retool or something? I swear I read or heard something about this in the late 90's when I bought the wife her ultralight great gun for small hands, but WAY too small for me to shoot comfortably.
  16. GA arms is running 5-7 WEEKS brhind on orders, so while it is a good deal, it is also a long wait. Just went to order some 9 and 45, duess Ill wait
  17. Mid 80's about high school I think Anywway, the history teacher would come in dressed as historical figures to teach. the scene i really remember is when he has the whole class bunch their desks up and reenacts the crossing of the delaware with him standoing in the middle dressed as George Washington. My daughters have a history teacher who does things like this and I wanted to show them this movie and the teacher Thanks
  18. Well , that shoots that Idea down in flames, thanks magic
  19. Is it legal to sell a handgun in state and ship it to an individual? ex. If I lived in Mountain City and bought a Gun from JoeBlow1999 in memphis is it legal for JoeBlow1999 to ship it to me? Which carriers would accept the package?(obviously not the USPS) Could it be shipped disassembled with the reciever in one package, and the slide and other parts in another package? Not wanting to circumvent any laes here, Just curious If I ran up on a good deal online, could I ship without going through a FFL in state. Any info would be helpful. Thanks Hillbilly

  25. Bought one for my Sig P6, woorked great, but sticks out below the bottom of the grip .25 to .5 inccheswith the base plate on it, plastic Bpught 3 for a Para P12, after much work and dremeling on them they feed reliably, but I carry the Para mags. I trust them. But I bought them to see if I could get them to work, and intended to work on them anyway. sorta like ramline and eagle mags for a 10/22, you get what you pay for
