  1. Well crap! If it wasn't for work half the day I might just have been there with you guys. Looks like ya'll had a good time!

But I did put the one and only coat of BLO on a Garand stock this afternoon (after about 10 of pure tung oil) and broke the front sight loose and adjusted so it would be proper!

Did Mike.357 wear that steel army hat all day? :D

  2. Much to the chagrin of the Commerical Appeal, Knoxville NS and other ignorant newspapers and TV stations of this state, restaurants are not going to start posting signs to keep guns out. Since the great majority of all the eateries that people get all warm and fuzzy about (at least in Knoxville) are crappy national chains, it will take some time for any type of ban.

For the other 5 or 10 % of the restaurants in the state that are owned and operated locally. Very few will post. First they have no idea what's going on, nor do they care! Secondly, it's hard enough to compete.

  3. They have been making them for several years, I just learned about the .45 version last week, Sphinx Systems Ltd. while there is definitely nothing wrong with the original CZ pistols, they are the only manufacturer good enough to make Swiss Ordnance Pistols and they are put together like a swiss watch which is something I am quite fond of :)

The Sphinx 3000! Why didn't you say so! I like it just for the name. :D

  4. The Bearcat is a small full-sized gun. Nevertheless, I think it's one of the greatest .22 SA's ever. My mom has an "original" bought at a gas station over in West Memphis in the '60's (pre-68). She won't let me even touch it! I might just try to make off with it. :poop:

  5. Agreed but doubt it'll happen since it would cost more bandwidth lol...but that has crossed my mind but I don't think TGO David will go for it considering how many Walmarts are in TN :koolaid:

Actually, it's really not necessary. There's no need to promote people running around buying everything up!

I've got a good feeling that the ammo madness is tapering off. The WM limits will go a long way to helping out.

  6. I honestly think we need a permanent thread for each Wal-Mart location in the State! That way we can check whatever location you're nearest and haul-ass over there! :koolaid:

I frequent the Walker Springs WM. They have (or had) tons of .223 as of yesterday evening. No pistola other than that one box of .357 Sig.

  7. thats crazy, they must have had 15 boxes of 9mm when I was there. one hour later, gone!

Gotta get up and out earlier I guess, lol

Gonna look at a different store tomorrow for .45, gonna go early

Wonder where OS is today? Maybe he was out there between us. :P

  8. we already have a 10 cent a box tax right now, I dont see any others coming along... but who knows.

That 10 cent state tax is for now...As much as TN loves the taxes, don't think that someone's not thinking about how to raise it.

Heck, they're already talking about how to raise gas taxes! Like incrementing it yearly based on the consumer price index.

  9. Well I'm speechless. Who the hell anymore knows what the sound of a whistle means, emergency-wise, much less care enough to call the authorities who will arrive just after the SHTF so they can clean up.

Is this for real? Whistles! Are they living in the 1930's?

BTW, isn't Oak Park that nice area where they film all the movies? The ones with nice big suburban houses.

  10. I keep store's phone numbers in my cell phone directory. No service, I ring them up and tell them to come help me. Gets their attention. Did that in wallyworld just last week, called and asked them to page someone to sporting goods. The 3 other folks in line thanked me.

That's excellent! :P Does it work in gun stores too?
