  1. Looks like the Knoxville shoot is about to get wet. Maybe in a couple of hours we'll get rain here. Beer is in stock again and I have one cigar left. Come on storm, it's a good day to die. Well, it's a good day to have boiled shrimp with a drink anyway.
  2. You can tell the quality of a man by his scars.... I just made that up. Maybe you can tell how dumb a guys is by his scars.
  3. Phelps won fairly, but in another way Cavic was robbed. By any other measuring point but fingernails, he swam a better race. But you set the rules and win or lose by them.
  4. http://bumperstickers.cafepress.com/item/concealed-carry-sticker-oval/73867839 Google is your friend.
  5. I carry the P3AT as either a BUG or as a casual primary, as with shorts or going somewhere "friendly." I normally have my Gerber Applegate - Fairbairn covert folder with me too.
  6. I once read something that has stayed with me, "Leathers are cheaper than skin grafts."
  7. It's pretty sad that someone who joins the military will give Obama the time of day. I'm betting that the actual voting from the military folks will be lopsided for McCain. The guys want to come home, but not with their tail tucked between their legs.
  8. My wife and I decided to do an outdoor wedding (with indoor backup) at a state historic site where I was on the board. Whole thing, including a donation to the site probably only cost us probably $500. But we did stuff like the reception items ourselves. Actually very gratifying and a nice wedding.
  9. I finally got around to fixing my Chicken Cordon Bleu. Very tasty. Just added a side salad and Rice Krispy Treats for desert. Tonight will either be beef tips or fajitas. I'm leaning toward beef tips, this time served on a bed of rice. And I still have a ton of squash, so I guess that will be a side.
  10. No "almost" about it. Looks like a match made in heaven to me. They both obviously have similar interests.
  11. That's not a concern of mine. Neither is going to be a "comfortable" handgun. If you want something that feels good in the hand, you need a bigger gun. The LCP / P3AT are guns that are for close range use and which are easily concealable.
  12. There doesn't seem to be much difference between the two guns. According to specs, the LCP is a tiny bit shorter in overall length but a little taller and wider. The P3AT is flatter. Normally I much prefer that in a IWB gun, but I carry it in my back pocket in a pocket holster. Whether that is a disadvantage for the LCP will have to be examined. I don't think the height difference would make a difference but the width might. The LCP does weigh a bit more than an ounce more than the P3AT. Again, I'm not sure if that is significant. But as has been mentioned here, it looks like the people who prefer the LCP like the Ruger name better than the Kel-Tec one and that plays a role in selection. The LCP does appear to be a bit more stylish. Then again, the Ruger styling looks a lot like my 25 caliber Sterling. I do think it is interesting that Ruger chose to use an extractor like Kel-Tec's old original design. But both work. I don't have too much of a problem with Ruger copying the Kel-Tec design although this is a bit blatant. I did have a problem with Ruger talking about how innovative they had been in designing their new little handgun. I got turned off by the obvious hucksterism. So they are awfully close in the race for my gun dollars, although the P3AT is a little less expensive. I'd probably go with the P3AT because it is narrower, flatter and lighter. Plus I like to reward actual innovation rather than copycatting. But nothing stands out making either of the little guns an obviously better choice.
  13. Waffle House? You can't get decent barbecue at Waffle House....
  14. No, not really. Just kidding. The LCP and P3AT seem pretty equal to me. I do still prefer the slightly smaller and flatter P3AT as a back pocket gun but everyone doesn't carry it that way.
  15. I saw a new poll out this morning Obama is losing ground. He's now ahead 48% - 45%, which is a dead heat since the poll has a margin of error of 3%. A few weeks ago, Obama was ahead by 8 %. As usual, it will probably come down to Florida and Ohio.
  16. This must be Wednesday. Beer sounds good.
  17. I'll go for the multicolored sight thingy. The rest still leaves you with a Glock. Why not move up to a USP?
  18. I'd take the clip back to where it was bought from and make him fit it. (Hey, it's better than telling him that he is an idiot.)
  19. While I don't think a Glock is a good gun to keep by your bed, I don't think a Glock is a good gun to keep anywhere. If you are a serious sleepwalker, even in a safe won't prevent potential problems. Best thing is - frankly - not to worry about it. As mentioned above, the adrenalin will probably take care of the problem. And get a couple of dogs to take care of warning about intruders. Makes for great sleep, even if you have serious enemies. The dogs are the alarm system, not the BG handlers.
  20. Someone earlier said they won't get married. This is a highly recommended approach.
  21. Should have bought a better gun?
  22. Remember Kipling? A million surplus Maggies are willing to bear the yoke; And a woman is only a woman, but a good Cigar is a Smoke. A million Amanda's would be happy to succumb to your charms - yes, even yours. There are a ton (more than so-to speak) of better-than-Amandas out there. You guys just need some more living to do - puppies.
  23. You need better woods. Mine did fine even when the creek dried up last year. So far...so good. The lawn is OK. Not that dry. I got the important part mowed yesterday before my expensive Personal-Pace Toro suffered yet another deck failure. Not sure if I have enough band-aids to fix it any more. Looks like the storm are over. Not bad, but not great as storms go. Well...beer works OK with a lap full of dogs on the couch too. Cigars are reserved for the porch.
  24. I would have said that, but I was worried that you guys would think that I was gay.
