  1. I never knew that...........
  2. Will you buy my gas too? Just kidding. I'll be there if I can.
  3. Oh...you noticed that?
  4. Oh, that explains it William Atwater, the fat slob in the clip was a Marine. Of course his guys regularly carried 1500 rounds. Actually, what he said was that in his company he had "kids" carrying 1500 rounds of ammunition, and that was sort-of-standard. Those kids were called ammo carriers (mules). That was their jobs - not killing NVA. And those "kids" were combat veterans who deserved a lot better than to be called "kids" by a fat POS. In short, Atwater is what I always expected him to be - before research. He's a fat, pompous academian I'd really want to know how he earned his purple heart. Paper cut?
  5. I'd say that would be an excellent choice. And on the Democrat side...Bill Clinton could always run....
  6. Give it to China. But China would say no, if it didn't include a supply of lead. For the children....
  7. Yes, they serve beer. Concealed would mean concealed - in theory. Just it it would have - in theory - at Pratt's in Kingsport the first time we did a meet.
  8. Good way to look at it Mike. The mileage thing, I mean. But I've also been wondering who the VP might be. Wonder if Cheney is still available?
  9. It depended on the mission. The LRRPs often scrimped on other items to carry extra ammo. It just depended on where you were going.
  10. Gee, that sounds unpleasant.
  11. With 1500 rounds, you would have needed a forklift to get me into the field.
  12. I agree. They look goofy. You want to wear something that does not call attention to you. Might as well open carry as wear one of those vests.
  13. I'm like about everyone else. I don't care for any of the candidates. But realistically, it's going to get down to McCain or Romney. That's an easy choice for me. And I'll be glad to hold my nose and vote against either of the Democrats.
  14. Yeah, but unless you take it with you it would hurt to get it stolen.
  15. Yeah, if you ignore San Francisco, wacko legislators, and fire and mudslide seasons, it's a great place.
  16. Is that the Maytag repair man across from the golden crotches? Is he always there?
  17. I'd say it's just me.
  18. Sounds as sensible as those who want a gun show transaction parking lot form.
  19. Unfortunately, the BRP is probably not a good area to go armed. Kinda like Applebee's. Concealed is indeed, concealed. The same is also true of the Appalachian Trail. But if you don't carry in some places in the latter area, like around Unaka mountain, you might be considered a fool.
  20. Good story, bulletproof. My old 38 s&w came from an uncle who used it in WWI.
  21. To me......
  22. My personal favorites are the 38spl Colt for nightstand use and the 44 Magnum for woods use. (mine is a Taurus 44R.) Revolvers fit a number of needs.
  23. Hey, I like the bayonet. But I'm into 1863.
  24. Beats me. The only thing I cast is minie balls in all lead.
