Consensual sex is legal in some states at 16. They ain't kids there. Just to point this out. If this turns into a religio-centric thread, posts will disappear. Hey folks, it's a gun board, not a religion board. Back to gun stuff, I think that when you are committing crimes that are universally condemned, like murder, theft, etc., that you should be considered an outlaw and subjet to whatever happens to you.

Everyone keeps giving me post-dated checks. Hey, that's OK as long as they are OK. (They are) Been there - done that.
-
I tend to agree - sorta - but Fred had some nutso problems too. The more I learned about him, the less I liked him. I think he would make a very good VP candidate.

Yep. A thief has given up his right to protection under the law, IMHO. My head is right where it should be. Where is yours? Guess I, and the Texas legislature and Governor don't agree with you. Guess we are all oh-so-stupid? BTW, abortion has nothing to do with this. This is a matter of crime and proper proper application of protection from it.

The "fissures" help the liberals. Whining is whining. Why would anyone with any sense do that? The decision has been made. Sounds like it is now time to get on to working to elect the candidate closest to your philosophy.

Been through this in another topic. McCain ain't 115. There is every reasonable expectation he can make 8 years. Besides, I still wouldn't vote for Huckabee.

Very true.

Folks, I think most of you have your head up your butt. The person(s) killed were voluntarily in the presence of a crime. If this had happened in Texas, the shooter would have been perfectly within his rights to shoot someone trying to steal his property. I think that is proper and right. I wish Tennessee Code read that way. I think the shooter deserves a medal for fighting back against thieves.

I'm afraid so-called conservative talk radio may be permanently off of my listening list. Limbaugh and company have acted like real idiots. Romney would have been one of my last choices to vote for. He's obviously Liberal, changing his position to get votes and with a totally flaky and unintelligent con-man religion not just unsupported by facts but disproved by them. The so-called conservative talk hosts did what the liberal democrats did. Anyone but Bush, for the libs / anyone but McCain for the self-appointed conservative mouth-o-crats. Just stupid. Mindless hatred of anyone who wouldn't tow their foolish line. I heard one conservative commentator the other day with a realistic perspective. He said he though he might support some off the wall candidate (I don't remember who) just to show how little influence radio talk show hosts actually have. McCain is no defender of individual liberty, but he's also no religious nut. Had enough of that with Carter and Bush II. I won't be fooled again.... You know how it goes. Fool me one once, shame on me.... Well you can't fool me three times. I'll vote for Hillary before I vote for another religious nut. Religious foreign policy has always been a disaster. Why do you guys think Huckabee stays in the race? There aren't even enough delegates left to win for him to become the candidate. Does he just not know when to shut up? Is he a self-serving preacher, like Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton? Is he looking for the role of a spoiler? Is he just dumb? It seems to me that it's time he fights the real enemy - the truly liberal Democrats. I've lost respect for him. I've come to think of him as the Sharpton of the religio-conservative set. "Hey...look at me!!!"

Some 5.56 guns have a problem with Wolf. Personally, I wouldn't use WD-40. It would have to be fully stripped out to the action or else it would gunk up things. Any good penetrating oil would be good followed by a good gun lube. If I'm having a feed problem, I generally go to a thorough cleaning followed by grease with some silicone in the mag.

Getting to know each other: What do you look like?
Marswolf replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
No water? Not good. But I thought the scouts were always prepared. May have told this before, but one of the guys with me was an eagle scout. He did great for the first couple of days until his knees gave out from carrying all the low calorie / high weight stuff like canned clam chowder. I might do that hike again next year. Then again, I may just buy six days worth of beer and think about it. -
I'll bet the Glock wakes up in the middle of the night and starts killing people.

You could just buy a decent handgun.

I'm interested in how the margin ends up in Virginia on the Republican side. I know one of the guys who owns Mason-Dixon polling. Here is a rundown on several polling companies: http://www.pollster.com/08-VA-Rep-Pres-Primary.php You might also want to look at http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news.PrintView.-content-articles-RTD-2008-02-10-0270.html. Some interesting stuff there. Looks like sexism and racism are coming into play. I suspect that may happen in the general election too.

I'm in and out of that Eastman CU in Blountville all the time. I just ignore the sign and say nothing.

That's why mine is loaded with FMJs. I'd like to see the police report on that incident. 380s should have easily penetrated unless they were those super-killer fragmentation rounds like Extreme Shock.. No doubt that a round with more power is better, but 380 is adequate in my experience.
-
Actually I have a 25 caliber Sterling. But I don't carry it. More of a curiosity.
-
Drink beer?
-
4 hours on the range.... Doesn't take me 4 hours to fire 48 rounds.

It occurs to me that I might mention one other thing that affects accuracy. The specifications for attaching a stock to a barrel/receiver are generally 65 inch-pounds. That's inch, not foot. You can buy a firearms torque wrench that will be preset to that range. I put together a more expensive, but more versatile wrench set from Sears. This is more important than most folks know. Before I got my torque wrench, I was over-tightening the stock bolts. When I started tightening to specifications, my groups improved significantly.

Beats me. The guy typing it must have been drunk. I think the sentence was supposed to be about the gun shop near him closing recently.

Nashville has lots of traffic cameras. http://www.trafficland.com/city/BNA/index.html

I don't know where people got the idea that a 380 ACP is a bad self-defense round. I have some grisly video (LE stuff) that shows that 32s don't always penetrate the cranial vault, but no video showing that in a 380. Unless you are on PCP, it will get your attention. If you are on PCP, it may take a while, but a nice head shot will still slow you down until you die. Anyway, a 380 that you carry in your pocket is a lot better than a 45 ACP back at home because it's harder to conceal.

Doesn't look that way from my view. Looks like he is pure Chicago politician to me. Whether he believes it is I guess is, in Wonder Land, still open to interpretation.
