  1. Yes, thank you. I came to same link thru the previous source you provided. One grip on the way for N-Frame Square butt. Thanks again.
  2. Well, as my "luck" would have it, it appears it was never made for the N-Frame square butt.
  3. Excellent! Thank you. I'll do some searching.
  4. Where can I find those wooden grip extensions for a L or N-Frame Smith?  Have seen pictures of them on the weapon. Just no credit as to who makes them. Looked at Hogue website. No luck.
  5. Well, had a chance to "play" with the old iron. Seems to be back to functioning as before. Not the slickest tool in the arsenal, but functional. Did absolutely nothing to it but work mechanism numerous times. Diss-assembly of this particular piece is NOT gonna happen by me. To old(both of us), to frail(the gun) and to complicated(take your choice). There's a pin that would have to be driven out on the front end. I don't really do any machining on delicate parts anymore.  Thanks for all the responses. And PM sent.
  6. Can anyone testify to the quality of a SA Revolver made in Dayton TN.? Anywhere in the mid-state where they are being sold?
  7. After a personal confrontation with the a$$-O himself in the parking lot, I decided he'd never see any more of my money. That was 16-18 years ago. Fortunately there are numerous options to a Nashville show.
  8.   Sorry you had to deal with such a moron, but the story should be a good lesson for those that think they don't need some guidance before they start reloading. Of course they will not likely read anything posted in this section.
  9. That Smith doesn't look nearly as bad as the 629 that tried to digest 21.5 grains of Bullseye at the range. He was going for 11.5 grs. Just misread his scale. Fortunately no one hurt but his Dad commented from behind, "I think something came off that gun"! The weapon was sent back to Smith to see if they would compensate in any way. They sent back a letter stating the Powder and Charge within .5 a grain. And they did offer to replace at dealer cost.  He bought a Redhawk from me and commented that the Ruger might just be able to take that overcharged round! Too funny.
  10. It's been suggested that I soak this relic in some fine solution to penetrate and cut thru internal corrosion. Grips removed of course. Any recommendations on a liquid solution?
  11. I'm not seeing(or feeling) evidence of bulged brass. Had that condition in spades when I had a 9mm FN-Hi-Power. I just removed that brass from any type reloading situation.
  12.   Last batch I loaded was 154. 26 will not completely chamber in my wheel gun.   I am looking at taper crimp dies as we speak. Thanks for excellent advice on FCDie.
  13. Sad news today. 90+/- yr old S&W .32 Long DA revolver fails to release cylinder. Wonder if these came with Lifetime warranty?  Orrrrr, can I send it back to Smith for a new .460? Anyway, looks like I need a Gunsmith............................................................or someone with working knowledge of the internals of this old relic. The lock-up in front is a bit different than modern design. Any recommendations in the Dickson/Franklin/Columbia area for a gunsmith?
  14. Some of my .40 cal creations from Lee Dies don't chamber in my wheel gun. Answers some feeding issues I've had with the Auto-loaders in the past. The offending rounds lack about a 1/16" to an 1/8" of going in the chamber all the way.  Time for new/better dies or will a taper crimp die help?  I am NOT good at sorting out between brands of brass. That has brought up varying pressure issues with 9mm in the past.
  15. I would say, enjoy the shared activity and interest. My EX attempted to learn to shoot several years into our marriage. She just could not comprehend lining up the sights(Colt .22 revolver). It was really pretty funny watching a highly intelligent female get so frustrated. Things were getting hit all around, but that target was perfectly safe. That's just one example of why we are both happily divorced today.  Or I should say, I'M happy!   And if I could add a word of caution to the younger generation; NEVER start a female, or any novice with a Magnum caliber. Especially the Super Magnums.  Potentially dangerous and really not that funny.
  16. But it don't come from Wyoming!
  17. I just wondered if Domino's(or an employee) had something to do with this. Certainly got their name mentioned several times.
  18. Don't they make a .500 Cal offering? Why "settle" for a whimpy 454?  You might have unusually tough Bees!
  19.     I know this is a creative reloads discussion, but if you want more exercise  I highly recommend a quality squash racquet. As the saying goes; "racquet head speed kills"!
  20. Visited Mid-South Shooters Supply today. No Long Rifle to be had of any make or velocity.  Makes me question why I'd want another .22. I've got enough primers, powder and projectiles to keep my centerfires happy for years. Just more time spent in the basement.
  21.   I have noticed my ABC white bottle extinguisher charge needle is right there at the "recharge" line. But I'm not sure this Walmart special can be recharged.  Probably just as cheap to buy a new one.
  22. I recently added to my extinguisher arsenal with a couple of Tundra(brand) cannisters. I'll assume they're fairly recent technology that claims to extinguish better than some of the older larger bottles. One of the most attractive features, IMHO, is the size. Many women, and some men might not want a 10-20 lb. bottle anywhere near their kitchen, but these things sit rather inconspiciously on a pantry or cabinet shelf.  Two of those and two of the older style strategically located give me some peace of mind.  I also gave some to family members that are less inclined to think about that kinda stuff.
  23. One thing I love about this Site; the Ignore Preferences.
  24. +1                      Preachin' to the choir here...............I hope!
  25. I use to get asked if I was a "collector". My answer was most always no, they're all shooters. Except for a 36 cal. muzzleloader that I bought at an auction and hung over a mantle for a few years. But I've known 2 men with some interesting weapons and neither had any desire to fire them.
