  1. yes, there is a gap on the top side. you are probably right on the wrong size block. i am fine with putting the front site back on or getting another block, i just don't know what to order.
  2. Anybody know how to add pics from a tablet? <a href="http://s465.beta.photobucket.com/user/bucketlineman315/media/IMG_20121227_212157_zps39c5527d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/bucketlineman315/IMG_20121227_212157_zps39c5527d.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"/></a>
  3. i think it has to do with the gas block. i will try to get some pics up
  4. i purchased a daniel defense m4 v4 alwhile back and just got around to shooting it. the price was kinda low but i thought i just happened to be in the right place at the right time. the previous owner had removed the front(fixed) site and put a buffer(not sure if that is what it is called) on to hold the gas block. the rifle will not cycle a second round. i was wondering if anyone in the murfreesboro area would be willing to help me/show me how to fix my rifle? i can pay a shop to fix it but i would rather take this as an opportunity to learn more about the gun. i have the front site but not the roll pin that holds it in. thanks for any help daniel
  5. Thanks for the replies. My main concern is that i have large hands. I hope to find a shop with one in stock to try.
  6. anyone have a sub compact in 40? i am looking for a small carry gun. something more easily hid for church, etc. pros and cons of the sub? daniel
  7. i may try the magnum research. i don't have a rifle, so if you add that cost along with all the parts, i will have more in a built gun i'm not really into the bolt 22s, i have a couple of lever actions that i enjoy but looking for a semi
  8. thanks for all the replies. gray that is very informative and gives me a little more to think about. after going to the forum listed above, it was kinda overwhelming. what is your take on the magnum research rifle? that sounds kinda like what i am wanting. i looked at the volquartson rifles but..... edit: broom if i decide to build one i will pm you, thanks for the offer
  9. i am thinking about building a 10/22. the gun will be an all around plinking, trick shooting with buddies, hunting, etc gun. i have read some on here about ideas of what to do to the gun but wanted to comprise it to one and get everyones opinion. i know i want the hogue rubber stock. i think volquartson hammer, volquartson extractor, barrel???, send the gun off to be head spaced. anything to add or change? what brand barrel? also, would anyone in the murfreesboro area be interested in helping/showing me how to do everything myself? thanks
