  1. (Bold Added) Sorry guys, I know I'm in on this discussion late but can someone explain "properly posted"? I don't think I really understand that. 39-17-1359 uses language like "substantially similar". I don't think I've ever seen a REAL sign as prescribed by this statute, with the exception of the airports in Nash and Mem. Asking for clarification not stirring the pot.
  2. I'm in...that would be WAAAAAYYYYY cool to be the first guy in YEARS to kill an elk in TN. I might have to go with my .50 BP and get into my Jeremiah Johnson groove... mrmoe:D
  3. AWESOME !!!! Thanks!
  4. Welcome from another Jacksonian...
  5. Welcome !! Try out tnsportsfoundation.org its an outdoor range here in jackson, pistol and rifle ranges. Hopefully soon to have a shotgun facility as well.
  6. That is correct. You can replace with a non-remington O ring. I cannot for the life of me remember the part number or size, but...if you will shoot over to trapshooters.com and ask or just do a search over there, I know a great many of the fellows over there replace their O rings with "hardware grade" rings from the hardware store.
  7. NRA member, Instructor, Coach, RSO, etc, etc ++++++ a zillion on the motion to promote the TFA It appears to me that John Harris and the folks over there do more to help us locally ride herd on the laws that make it happen in our back yard. I don't see a lot of wasted time, money and effort going on at that level. Everyone needs to jump in and grab a shovel LOCALLY...grow where you're planted, every tub sits on its own bottom, think globally act locally...and all that.....
  8. Thanks Fallguy!
  9. Does anybody have any proposed legislation numbers so we can get on this "specifically" in letters, emails and phone calls to our officials? We had a shooting last week here in the bowling alley in Jackson. I want to be able to "legally" carry ALL THE TIME. This issue is getting more and more important to me by the day... mrmoetn
  10. This legislation wasn't "passed" in Tn but it is still active and may be moved on this year or at another time. We still need to be vigilent and actively help fight this garbage in TN and in any other state. It's interesting that the folks pushing this technology are the folks who hold the patents on the process of microstamping to be used. If memory serves me correctly it involved any centerfire rifle or pistol ammo. mrmoetn
  11. Take a class or some classes, then form your own opinion. Maybe you have, I don't know. But in any case, my Mama taught me to hold my tongue if I couldn't find something nice to say.
  12. Whether or not it's been done before, we need to WEAR EM OUT...with letters like this!!! Nobody at the state level had the forethought to be proactive...If you build one you know it's going to become obsolete in a few years and you'll need to be working on another one... I don't care where the money comes from to properly fund the program...do it right or get out of the way. They leave us (instructors) hanging out to dry with incorrect information, no update when laws change (even at least yearly...?) and can't even keep their portion of the class program up to date... If they spent as much time maintaining their current programs and spent less time figuring out how to collect our serial numbers the program would be much better off. :wall: No I ain't had my coffee yet...
  13. The Tennessee Sports Foundation in Jackson has classes on the third Saturday of each month (8a-4:30p ish), I think this year that even includes December, and on the first Monday(6p-9p), Tuesday (6p-9p)& Thursday night of each month they have a class that is taught at Gander Mountain in Jackson. The Thursday is usually the time we qualify at the range, and we try to work that to fit the class best. If Thursday isn't gonna fit the class participants, we try to work around it. For info call David @731-234-1200.
  14. Name is Chris I stomp ignorance for a living... I shoot at the TN Sports Foundation Range here in Jackson. I like shooting just aobut everything; have just gotten back into hunting after a hiatus of several years... Just stumbled onto this great site a few days ago. Lots of great information here and I really like being able to see FS ads from right here in TN that can be carried out FTF. Thanks to the folks who put this place together and keep it running daily. mrmoetn
