  1. Dolo, guys like you are the only ones I dare to shoot around. I trust just about everyone on this site. Glad you "pointed" him in the right direction (both figuratively and literally). You a good man to care about you fellow shooter like that. Thanks for the invite and literally having our backs. Was a ton of fun today.
  2. I am just saying if we sent two people, one male the other female, with similar body size, strength, and skill. I would bet money that the woman would be shown a compact and the guy be shown something along the lines of a glock 19.
  3. Not a thing this year. But did see some interesting stuff out in the woods all cammoed up. :tinfoil:
  4. Semi auto 20 gauge. It will reduce the recoil and make sure you get a limbsaver too. Pumps are fun, but from what you are saying you would probably get more use out of a 20 gauge semi.
  5. I understand the whole she should not be out there playing NFL football. But guns are one of those things that anyone, anywhere, any age, any size can do fairly simply with normal arm and hand strength.
  6. Ok, so I don't understand why when I go to a gun shop and a woman ask to see a handgun for self defense either A. their husband/boyfriend/ dad show them little .380s and small little handguns only, or B. the gun shop guy pushes the toward smaller guns only. I never see them being show a 1911, Glock 19, or an XDM40. Why is it that so many men think a woman can not handle a firearm? My mother, sister, and past exs have always done fine with a little training just like any male new to the sport. Just wanted to get a ladies perspective on the matter. Thanks.
  7. I got a deal I am happy with. Yes LP I read it. He had some extras on the gun plus cash. So fine with me. I got a gun I will use a lot more than that 715t.
  8.     I just want to know if Mossberg 500 barrels will fit it. If they do it is a go. I just don't need another shotgun with a long barrel.
  9. I have a Mossberg 715t that I am looking to trade for anything just about. I have had a guy offer me a maverick 88 shotgun with some $$. I was just wondering if this was a good shotgun. I trust your opinions on it.  It has the 28" barrel. I was wondering if the Mossberg barrels would fit it since I would want it to be a truck gun with an 18" barrel. I can not bring myself to bubba a good shotgun barrel. It seems to be a fair offer, but sometimes you just don't know. Not a whole lot of info out there on the aftermarket for this gun accessories wise. Thanks for the help.
  10. Yes, and thank you to everyone. I know this is old dirt for a lot of you. But there are those of us who this is unturned soil. So thank you for the patience and advice.
  11. I am not a NRA member or paid member of any such organization. So my only way in is to get a sponsor. Which take a minimum of a month. With out and using an NRA take a minimum of 2 months.
  12.     You are correct sir.
  13. Yes I can go shoot with him. But I want to be able to go out there myself and shoot. Which means I must have my own membership. Which means I need a sponsor.
  14. Umm. It's Tuesday. So you have eaten out 1 day. Whoo hoo. lol
  15. Glad I have a diesel. Pft make my own damn fuel.
  16. My Dad just join ORSA. I am almost 21 so I know they want me to get my own membership to go shoot with him. Which I would like to do anyway. My problem is I need a sponser to get in. I was wondering if any of you knew when would be the soonest he could sponser me so I too can get a membership.
  17. I keep a high cap shotgun and a handgun in mine. One for if they are not right at my car (shotgun) and one if it is close quarters(handgun) like they are coming through the window.
  18. Now I have a level 1 holster that is harder to get out than 99% of level 2 and a lot of level 3's. When I stick my gun in it, it is like a die press has clamped down on either side. I would never carry with it for fear of not being able to get my gun out to use.
  19. I was at Dicks sporting goods before all this happened. A pretty young lady came back to the gun counter asking for ammo for her gun. Guy asked what caliber, she said she didn't know but had the gun with her. Said she had used what she had at the range that morning shooting it for the first time. She pulls of a .50 desert eagle from her purse. She was not joking, she was not playing. She was dead serious. Makes me scared of some of the women out there.
  20.     Thank you for the insight. I don't mind if people stare. That is their problem. My issue would have been how wal mart reacted. That was uncalled for and totally out of line for company policy, since I worked security there. No police should have been called, and no one should have followed you. Bunch of ignorant sheep. I think in the winter yes I will CC more because it is easier to, but as for summer. Less clothes means lots of OC. I will be armed, and I will be comfortable. As far as the cops getting called go for it. So long as I am not breaking a law there is nothing they can do. Thanks for the input, and the story. Sad things go that way. Have a good one.
  21. Thank you everyone for the wonderful feed back so far. It seems I am leaning more toward open carry due to the comfort. I am not too worried about drawing attention to myself from the bad guys. I don't plan to wear a .44 magnum on my hip that sticks out like a sore thumb. I will conceal carry when needed. But it seems everyone's biggest fear is the bad guy seeing them and targeting them first. Which is no issue to me. Hey if I go down first then that gives someone else time to get away. I am eventually going to make my presence known when I shoot back. I just foresee a lot of tunnel vision when someone is commiting a crime. They are not at the level of concentration where they are looking for who is armed. The just want to get in, do it, and get out and away. But still please keep it coming. Very nice to hear all this info. Thanks again everyone.
  22. Actually 1 month and 43 years. Month was wrong too.
  23. Sweet. Watched it all. Was awesome.
  24. Better get back to my DeLorean You are on to me. Darn.
