  1. When you assert something absurd like that, no reason to read further. So I didn't. - OS
  2. 39-11-106: "Handgun" means any firearm with a barrel length of less than twelve inches (12'') that is designed, made or adapted to be fired with one (1) hand; Technical definition in 39-17-1301 "Unloaded" means the rifle, shotgun or handgun does not have ammunition in the chamber, cylinder, clip or magazine, and no clip or magazine is in the immediate vicinity of the weapon. Defense to illegal possession in 39-17-1308: "...an unloaded rifle, shotgun or handgun not concealed on or about the person and the ammunition for the weapon was not in the immediate vicinity of the person or weapon;"
  3. You have quite the fanciful definition of "proving". - OS
  4. If you just do as well, it should well suffice. Be sure and let us know so can watch either during or after. - OS
  5. Well, there's possession as in "going armed" and there's the "passive" possession of having an unloaded weapon not readily accessible. I'm no lawyer, and anything's possible, but it's obvious the intent of the law is the "going armed" while juiced part and not the latter. If I still drank, I personally wouldn't worry about having an unloaded gun in the trunk, or even locked unloaded in a case under or behind the seat (since I don't have a trunk). Then again, I wouldn't drive after having even one drink either; one drink smells about like ten drinks on your breath -- in that case I'd only be in that car with the gun well stashed if I were a passenger. - OS
  6. Here's a long thread with lots of pics re the PRC brands I mentioned: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/866583-SRM-Bee-Enlan-Navy-and-knives-Fan-post - OS
  7. Yow, Prez tepid on guns and a veep that's a real anti. (feels NJ's gun laws "are about right"!) Two Yankees, I doubt it. I'd think Rubio would be the pick, IF he'll do it. Would sway the South. Though he's been as adamant sounding as a no as Christie. Rand Paul might possibly be seen as an asset in the South too. - OS
  8. Now 2/22/12, the Arizona debate on CNN. During "bailout" part of debate. I just gotta say, Mitt showed some balls in dissing the UAW right before the Michigan primary! Newt hit them even harder, if anything. Santorum kept mum on UAW. - OS
  9. Over time, a bunch of accessories, some ammo, and one rifle. All aces. One of the first places you should always check for magazines for about anything, btw. - OS
  10. Not bad considering I've never owned one. - OS
  11. Manual states: "The PF-9 will accept +P ammunition, however not with continuous use." - OS
  12. Hell, I thought you did very well indeed. Several of your points were timely and are not hammered home well enough in other discussions. - The difference between HCP holders as law abiding compared to general population - Fact that bearing arms must pass the "reduce crime" clause in TN constitution - That private property is not mentioned in TN constitution as some overwhelming principle And yes, Campfield surprised me. Took the "I'm a wide open gun type guy" while basically clouding the issue to the contrary. Marrero spouts a typical non-pertinent concern, as if a company policy or law deters a criminal madman. Since she's "city smart" she doesn't need a gun either, as she drives around all parts of Memphis safely. Right. Ya hate to wish bad things for most anyone, but .... NRA gal was ignorant, too, in question about whether it only affects permit holders; states that long guns are only thing non permit holder may possess in car. Anyway, kudos, proud of ya! - OS
  13. Thanks, it's working on my Win7 box. Can't get video on my XP one, both Win Media 11, dunno why. - OS edit: It's playing with SilverLight on the Win7 box, not Media Player. edit2: installed SilverLight on XP box, works on it now using it.
  14. Did you remove bottom plate to add or try pinkie extension? Follower probably not on spring correctly. Here's a typical explanation: "Trust me, I had the same problem. Here's the issue, when you got it, you took off the bottom plate to try the finger extension thingy right? Remember that little metal plate on the bottom of the spring with the latch on it that goes in the plate? It's easy to keep it from seating correctly. Take it apart again, and pay special attention to the little plate. If it doesn't work, try it again. It'll hold 7 rounds, trust me. It will. With one in the barrel it's an 8 round pocket 9 mm! If you can't get it, take the plate off and sand the sharp edge a bit so it slides into place better." "OK, I took the mag apart - things looked fine when I took everything out. I put it back together and it now holds 7 like it should. I'm guessing the follower wasn't seated on the spring correctly. anyway - woo-hoo! all good now." - OS
  15. If you mean CS and CRKT, yes. The Chinese ones I mentioned, to my knowledge, no. - OS
  16. Thanks but hmmm, after long delay, I only get audio, with animated MS Media Player logo. Is there supposed to be video too? - OS edit: now I can't get anything edit2: Now I get the audio again but the one for SB3002 isn't the right one. Sigh
  17. Or hit "reply" button in individual post if you want to quote that response before adding yours. - OS
  18. I have quite a few Cold Steel knives and some CRKT also.. My comment re CS and CRKT wasn't meant to diss them -- both companies have made any number of fine and innovative knives. Just a clarification about "manufacturers". I've even gotten into SRM/Enland-Bee/Navy blades -- Chinese companies who ARE the manufacturers, and the actual manufacturers of some of the PRC made line for American-based knife companies, like Buck, Spyderco, Kershaw, etc. A good knife is a good knife. - OS
  19. Exactly. These laws CAUSE crime -- they make criminals out of otherwise law abiding citizens. - OS
  20. Might get charged with similar right here in TN. - OS
  21. oops, meant to edit, not new post
  22. John Anderson and Ross Perot are on line two. Paul will join their small club of changing nothing. However, a 5/6/7 liberal activist Supreme Court majority will change things for the the next 25-50 years. If indeed the US continues to exist that long. - OS
  23. Yep, you may inherit guns from beyond state lines without going through FFL, as long as it is legal for you to own the weapon. Federal law. Doesn't have to be a relative, can be from anyone's will. The not so minor drawback is that the benefactor has to be, you know, dead. - OS
