Seen one little spike buck (he got a free pass) and a couple of does. No shots though. Maybe tomorrow! DaveS

GAME CAM, anybody got suggestions on a good model?
DaveS replied to seez52's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I like "Wild Game Innovations" cams. They run about $45.00 and picture quality is outstanding. Walmart has them for $45 right now! I just looked at them! I own 4 and really like them! DaveS -
Sorry to hear about your Dad. Tree stand safety is something we don't much think about and take for granted. I had an incident 3 years ago where I was climbing down the tree and my stand slipped sideways, I lost my balance and came out of the tree. I only fell about 8 foot and landed on my feet and rolled my left ankle and broke it. No fun at all and I was about a 3/4 mile from my car. A very long and painful walk! Had I had my safety harness on, that would have never happened. I hate hunting by myself, because anything can happen and a good hunting buddy in the area is priceless! But still, I go out. Think Safe...Be Safe! DaveS

I got me some Cream Soda today, what ratio do you mix it? DaveS

Well brother TGO'rs a lot of people "voted for change". I hope they like what they got (besides free phones) because I damn sure don't! I didn't vote for the bung either! DaveS

Well tomorrow is opening day of Deer season with Muzzleloader. I want to wish all my fellow TGO'rs that are hunting this weekend...Good Luck and please be SAFE! 1. Know your target and what lies beyond. 2. Make sure someone knows where you are, and knows when you expect to return home. 3. Have a plan in place should you not return home and can't be contacted. 4. Have all your proper permits and permission slips (if applicable) 5. Wear your safety harness at all times while in a tree stand and while climbing up/down the tree. 6. Climb down if getting sleepy. 7. Don't pee on yourself. 8. Orange vest and hats are REQUIRED BY LAW. Don't forget them! 9. If you walk past the same tree more than twice your lost. Sit down, take a deep breath and start all over again! Stay hydrated! 10. yada yada yada. Good luck and be safe! Remember....if you have no pictures....it didn't happen! Post your pics on the Muzzleloader thread. DaveS

Sam, we'll see if it is carried out. I doubt it my self, although that would be a good way to teach someone a lesson! DaveS

We like Port St. Joe also. We have property on St. George. The house was destroyed by Ivan and we never rebuilt. We were there in June for the first time since Ivan came through. It broke our hearts. I love that part of Florida. If I thought I could find a little part job there, I'd be in Crawfordville or Panacea in a heartbeat! DaveS

Now how is he going to fix the problem of people losing their health insurance? A lot of people would like to know! DaveS

Wakulla County (Crawfordville) is where me and my teen Daughter got our Pigs back in June. We fished St. Marks and Alligator Harbor a lot. A good friend of mine and TGO member "Whiskey", is a Federal Game Warden in that part of the state, so we had a good hunting guide! I couldn't get over all the palms in the woods! Craziest thing I've ever seen. Apalachicola is an awesome little town too! My plan when I get to Florida is to have a guest room, so I can offer my TGO friends a place to stay for some hunting and fishing for those who couldn't otherwise do so. DaveS

JWC, what part of Florida? DaveS

A couple good hogs a year is about all a man needs. I fell in love with hog hunting in florida and it's one of the reasons I'm moving in the spring. It's our dream to live out our senior years in Florida and the pig hunting and shark fishing is just icing on the cake! I was using vacuum bags for a while, but my friends and neighbors started wanting me to do their deer and I find it just as quick to use freezer bags and freezer paper. Plus it's a little cheaper. I bought me a real good commercial grinder but my sweetest piece of equipment is my sausage stuffer. Makes easy work of putting ground meat in a bag or casings. DaveS

Now that sounds good. I will try that today. I got to go out and try to find some 7mm/08 ammo and will get some cream soda. I found plenty of .22 ammo yesterday afternoon, but no 7mm/08. Will be back on the hunt today for some. DaveS

If you need one done PM me. If you buy the freezer paper and seasoning for whatever sausage you want we'll make it happen. DaveS

I do it myself. I make all my cuts and I have a commercial grinder that I make my burger and sausage with. I actually enjoy cutting up deer and pigs. And of course my friends like me doing it too! lol DaveS

No Sam, I think they are talking handmade as a sub/separate group as I understand it. I could be wrong though. DaveS

Never had the #2. It may be worth a sip or two. DaveS

I was a Jack Daniels man forever it seems like. I sipped it, mixed it and it made the most awesome BBQ sauce there is. However, "Devils Cut" has just replaced it! DaveS

Do like I did and buy the little sample bottle for 2.00 first. That way you're not out much if you don't like it. DaveS

Raoul; it's 90 proof. Awful smooth though! It's a little pricey I guess, it was $22.00 for a 750 ML bottle. Maybe that's average, I don't know. DaveS
