  1. That's it exactly. It's funny to see what lies come out of their mouth. It's just funny at this point.
  2. Went to Wally to buy some .40 cal. They had what I needed and it was a fair price. I asked the lady when the last time she's even seen .22.... She quickly replied that they only received 4 bulk packs since April. This was Lewisburg. Too funny. She's a night manager too. Not just a worker. I'm so good on .22 that it's funny to see what replies I get. They think we are stupid.
  3. For those who need some. $5 for 50 rounds. Just throwing it out there.
  4. You are reading way past what I could ever even think or imagine. Your anger is evident, and I can see that. Therefor I am done replying to this thread. It's just not worth the argument. It's Ford vs Chevy at this point.
  5. Are you a reseller ?
  6. While I'm taking heat over this and it's so far remaining a civil thread.... I'm playing devils advocate a bit I guess. I have used the link to purchase ammo on cabelas. I changed my opinion on the link last month. When I played around with link and realized that I could buy ammo from the link but if I went to their sight in another tab... No ammo in stock. That's when I realized the link was a cheating deal. I actually searched a few ways to try to buy this on the site, then used the link 5 minutes later and it worked. I felt like a Walmart camper that was buying ammo that ordinary people were trying to get the legitimate way. The legit way being a potential shopper on the site. Not using a back door link on gun forums. Do you guys not think that these resellers were using the links too???? If I'm so wrong, then why did Cabelas shut it down? I'm all for getting ammo like the rest of us... But this wasn't right.
  7. I think the reason they killed it was simple... When customers went to their site to buy ammo or other goods, NO .22 showed in stock. Those with the link, ALWAYS beat the guy who goes to their site and looks for it. A store front isn't exactly setup that way. I think it's a little wrong that a guy with a link gets ammo, yet a guy or gal who went to their actual site would never see it. You are correct... The cart worked like it should. Their website lag was way slower than the live link to the cart. That's the way I see it.
  8. It's not a hack. It's a legitimate glitch.
  9. Except Cabelas told me directly that it allows one to add ammo to the cart, and check out... And when it comes back in stock... They immediately get checked out. That is directly from cabelas. So yes, it is a glitch. quote name="PalmSlap" post="1126200" timestamp="1395123962"]Allow me to educate the crotchety old men here who are cyring foul like they were kicked in the junk: 1. The "Checkout" Link to Cabela's is not a hack. It is not a "backdoor" inventory system. It is not kept under wraps by a keykeeper. It is NOT a secret. It has been known since atleast 2009. Anyone can use it, including you old farts. 2. It doesn't allow you to buy ammo that is out of stock, but sometimes it appears they overestimate how much they are getting and sell more than they have. This will put you on a Backorder. But, the backorder usually results in an email with a fairly accurate ETA. If you were to look into the link a little bit deeper before throwing your hands up in the air and complaining to Cabelas, you'd see that you too could acquire ammo after very minimal time and effort. The only thing knee jerk reactions accomplish is a torn diaper and a set of dentures on the shag carpet. 3. This link is no different than using Gunbot, Wikiarms, Bulletfinder, etc, with the exception YOU have to find when its in stock versus Gunbot and its facsimiles alerting you. Are you mean old coots familiar with these websites? Check them out, if not. If you are savvy enough to chat on this forum in between a bowl of oatmeal and Murder She Wrote, you are more than capable of finding the aforementioned ammo search engines. 4. Cabela's abhors backorders, so if you happen to call and bring up your order in backorder, they politely say "oh, let me fix that for you".... bam. Cancelled. It is ALWAYS suggested to ONLY call Customer Service if you want to cancel the order. Because it will happen regardless what you call for, even if you are simply asking if you can combine shipping with a tub of dried Prunes. 5. I find it humorous that you would think such a large Company like Cabelas would look deeper into an inventory system that is, well frankly the damn thing is selling ammo. Is it not? Now, by complaining to "the IT guy" that his website is full of holes is akin to shooting your own foot with a .22.... haha, if you had any. I seriously doubt the Website admin will look into a system that is doing exactly as they want to it to (which, may I remind you is to sell ammo), but IF something were to come of it and the Checkout no longer functions like it has, I would like to be the first to personally thank you for single handedly destroying the only means of buying .22 for normal blue collar/white collar 9-5 workin' sumbeetches. We would love to go to WallyWorld or a sporting goods store after work and pick up a box of ammo, but unfortunately for us the shelves were already raped by a menacing hoard of retired old bats with electric Hoverround baskets filled with bulk rimfire ammo. If the Link for Cabelas does get shut down, what does that accomplish for you? Well, sadly, nothing. Because the throngs of Rimfire seekers will now simply copy and paste the direct link of the ammo into their browser, refresh it a few times a minute, and when the website pops up the ammo as in stock they will buy and tell their cohorts "hey, Blazer in stock". Perhaps a few minutes later, it will be up on Gunbot, letting even more people know it is in stock, then in a matter of minutes, the ammo is gone. Exactly the same situation as now? Indeed. Now, if I still have your glaucoma ridden eyes, flap your gums at this: The Link you are seeing is a "saved shopping cart" made by someone... anyone... even YOU could make this shopping cart. Cabela's website allows you to "email" a shopping cart to a friend or yourself. What people have come to realize is that when you email your shopping cart, it will always show in stock because the code just shows it that way. If you click "Checkout", ONLY the ammo that is ACTUALLY in stock will remain in your cart. If it isn't in stock or available, your cart will be empty. Repeat until you get ammo. If you go to the direct link of CCI Blazer on Cabela's website, it will only say IN STOCK if they have a large shipment. The cool thing about the way the link works is that if, for some reason, an order is canceled because someone bought 5 when they are limited to one, those 4 are put back in inventory but the website won't update the "IN STOCK" icon. So, if one were to force the checkout to happen through this link, it will snag one of those "re-stocks" from a previous illegitimate order. That is why you see your ammo cohorts getting a box and you come up dry: if you keep trying, as the Cabelas rep's come across greedy orders and re-stock the ordered items, you too could pick up some ammo. Before you come unglued and say "well poppycock, my nap is always right after my 1pm enema and smorgasbord of medication, I don't have time during the day to sit at a computer and wait", please be aware that much of the ammo frequently becomes available on weekdays around 10pm our time. Simply tell your hospice care-giver to wake you up at 10, rub the bengay on your knuckles, and start sniffing out the in-stock ammo. Keep at it. You'll get the hang of it. It takes a little bit of luck but mostly persistence. For me, it has been the only way to get ammo so I can teach my young boys the fundamentals of proper firearm handling and marksmanship. A reminder, the links expire after 30 days, so you have to keep emailing them to yourself or else they will stop working. Embrace technology and use it for good, don't sit on the plastic-covered couch and gripe and moan that you ain't getting yours. If your beanbag is resting by your knees, flick it once or twice to remind yourself you were a man half century ago. [/quote]
  10. Getting .22 the old fashioned way... Buying it in the store. Good stuff.
  11. Little dirty but reloadable and works
  12. I ordered from them just by periodically checking the in stock status in my favorites. Something tells me that what little I know about the bug, neckbeard resellers abused it. I agree, the SW links landed me a few deals... No lie there. I'm good enough on my little stash now... I don't know why I care at this point. Guess I see a bunch of non computer internet whizzes who have false hopes when this kind of garbage goes on. I'm all for the people who actually shoot being able to get some goodies!
  13. So the guys who are cheating the system won't send me a birthday card. I'm hurt... Or not.
  14. They are one of only a few offering military or law enforcement discounts on ammo. They are GTG
  15. I have been going back and forth in a very interesting email chain with their website tech. I hope I get the hack links shut down. That's complete BS. At least give us people who work and not learn every angle a break. They were honest and a bit shocked that their cart had as many bugs as it did.
  16. We will see. I bet .22 is high for a while
  17. Please post a pic of it "in stock" in your shopping cart...
  18. It's simple. Some people are obsessed about getting the prize, some obsessed about making peddler style money.
  19. Yeah but $70... No thanks.
  20. Cabelas doesn't have any idea what they have or don't have after this hack
  21. Are you actually getting ammo?
  22. As long as the resellers keep buying it at .03-.05 a round, the suppliers have no idea what the market price demands. So I don't buy the " they will jack the prices because we pay .15 a round. The first buyer IS paying normal prices. It's the reseller market we need to control and worry about. So as far as the numbers go, the manufacturers and wholesales people think... The market is paying .03-.04. Think about that. They have no record or trace of the gunbroker or armalist market value.
  23. Well, if you need ammo right then, .08 is not bad... However, I am with you. Don't buy it, and starve the reseller market of buyers. Don't buy gas... Everybody in the country... It'll be at $1 a gallon... Won't happen
