  1. You get ranked according to your score. So, yes, there is a little more expediency if you score higher but not much.
  2. Nah, 2-4 weeks to get scheduled for the test then then 9-12 mos. to get through the whole process.
  3. A few weeks. They usually run the test twice a month unless they are slowing the hiring in which case they test once a month. The whole process will take 12 mo. 9 if you get lucky (app to Academy start). I, by some mysterious means, got through in 4, but every one in HR looked at me funny when I said that.
  4. That was hilarious. I kept thinking I had seen the best one till I would see the next one. Absolutely hilarious!

    Gun pointing at shops

Yeah, I'm gonna go with over reacted. I remember the last time it happened to me and I simply said hey, watch that thing with a "stern" smile. Most folks just aren't thinking or didn't realize what they were doing. Either way not good, but I wouldn't make a big scene over it.
  6. When I attended session 59 there were quite a few guys over the age of 35. Sgt. Hickman even commented that in the last session they had a guy near 50 that was one of their best cadets. Of course he was a marathon runner before! There was another guy in his early 40's that lost 40 something lbs and was an excellent cadet as well. If you are really driven and everything else lines up it won't be that big of a deal.
  7. so when is AIM going to start paying you? BTW i really like them as well!
  8. I'd say that is a great way to start the EBR collection! looking forward to the pics.
  9. You will find your quest a little difficult. 40 S&W is a compromise between 9 and .45 and the 1911 platform is designed best in one or the other. There aren't any real benefits to a .40 1911 over a 9mm or .45 1911.
  10. Link? anymore info?
  11. It's global warming, dontcha know. It's like nature's Chernobyl. Seriously though, I really wish I had been able to get out and see anything!

    Uselton Arms!

Yeah I referenced those in my e-mail.

    Uselton Arms!

I don't mind the ads it was when heard some callers asking where he got his Glock foty and he was mentioning Uselton. It's not a huge deal to me, just annoying more than anything. Yeah GFA runs later and Guns and Leather are running a lot of TV spots. I think it is absolutely great that the local guys are moving enough inventory to be able to purchase so many spots. I hope it keeps up!
  14. I don't know how many of you listen to FM 99.7 (5am to 9am) here in Nashville, but the host Ralph Bristol is a great guy. He recently got his first handgun (although not new to firearms) and permit and unfortunately went through Use-less-ton for it. He sounds like he is not all too familiar with local gun stores, but I absolutely hate hearing Uselton get any free advertising. I dropped him an e-mail with my feelings on the matter as well links to the great gun shops of middle TN as well as TGO. If you would like to do the same, his e-mail is Ralph@997WTN.com.
  15. Nah, there just easier see and to lump into a category. It's human nature to be egocentric no matter what group you identify with... or think you don't identify with.
  16. mine is set correctly and is still an hour behind real time.
  17. Yes, I have on multiple AK's and Uzi's. Just kidding... but no really.

    Why 1911?

No, but he did make a 1922 that IMO was a much better design!
  19. Your good, but seriously until someone is prosecuted for 922r I would put whatever you want on it and enjoy. The BATF has even admitted there's no way they can verify origin of parts.
  20. That I could understand. It probably comes from Pastors not wanting there members out of church during hunting season and so trying to start some sort of "religious" tradition for prohibiting it. I pastored a couple of church's in Arkansas that became ghost towns during hunting seasons! Good fishing weather had a similar effect but was more spread out. BTW - Sunday is just another day of the week. The Sabbath is Saturday.

    Why 1911?

It's early and I'm at work and I have a lot of time to think. The question that comes to mind is - what is all the hullabaloo over 1911's? I mean compared to other guns on the market they seem to be inferior in almost every way. They are heavy, capacity isn't great, reliability is questionable (with out gunsmith work even on $$$$ customs), they aren't necessarily small, etc. I mean if a gun came on the market today with these issues they would be laughed into oblivion. So what gives? BTW - I still want one!
  22. Yes, you do. A lot of People i know keep the originals in a safe location and make copies they keep in their wallet or on them in some form or fashion.
  23. I really like Opera and Opera mini. I've been using them for years and have worked great. That being said, WAP is kinda of an obsolete technology. Most decent phones are fast enough and data speeds are fast enough to where manufactures would be stupid to not use a full web browser.
  24. +1:koolaid: Great guy to deal with.
  25. As much as I like my Dual Carry for IWB it has too much design compramise for serious OWB. The K&D is awesome!....except for the 14+ week wait! I had the Dakota Defender and loved it!
