  1. ahhh to be that age one more time.
  2. I notice in the classified section a lot of sellers offer only FTF. I have seen a lot listed like this on other forums also. My question is: What is the problem or big deal to ship? If I had a gun for sale id not knock myself out of a sell over not wanting to ship. My FFL here in town only charges 10$ plus the acual shipping cost to another FFL and uses USPS priority and only runs around 10-15$
  3. I had the good fortune of buying back the very first handgun I ever bought. Back in the mid 70’s (around 1973-74) I bought my first revolver at a local Bait N Tackle shop when I was 13 years old. The lady who ran it had asked me when I was eyeing the gun to make sure my dad was ok with me buying it. I returned a few weeks latter after saving enough to buy it and she took me at my word that Dad had said it was ok. (As I did ask him) I then sold the gun a few years latter to a man at my church. I remembered the gun a few weeks ago and asked the man if he still had it and found out his daughter had it now. She agreed to sell me back the gun. So after 30 plus years I now have my first handgun back. It is nothing special being a 6 shot revolver 4†Iver Johnson 22 Mag But the gun is still in nice condition and brings back old memories of plinking away afternoons and Saturdays. I haven’t re-shot it yet but I will soon. I thought some might enjoy my little story and a few pictures of a gun not seen around much these days.
  4. I dont own one. But looks like a good price and a lot of fun to shoot.
  5. Thanks everyone. Its and old tip my dad always did with wood stocked guns and I guess the reasons are what a few have posted. Not that any of my guns are worth alot. Just habit. Plus the front row can be removed at the ready to fire position faster? Also it will give you a bit more room if you have alot of guns? Packin: It was around 700$ with taxes and setup.
  6. Thanks everyone for your input...... Ok I went and did it….. I bought a new safe from my local Co-Op. It is a 22 gun safe. Measure 30W x 24D x 59H. I got what I think was a good deal. The sales tax pushed it a bit over what I could of bought online for. But hey…… some one has to help out the government and they even brought it to the house and set it in the old Man Cave. Its nothing special but it feels my needs for now. Here are some images. (poor ones) The racks for the long guns are a bit tall and almost don’t hold my long guns. (Levers) I guess ill be cutting that down a bit.

An LCP sized 9mm or heck even 45 would be sweet.
  20. Just did some searching and found this: We also must take the time to highlight the many victories that were achieved in the Volunteer State during this session, which include the signing of “Castle Doctrine†legislation, Emergency Powers legislation, and “No-Net-Loss†legislation into law.Governor Bredesen signed House Bill 145, sponsored by State Representative Michael McDonald (D-44). HB145, “No-Net-Loss†legislation, requires the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency to have a base line number of public hunting acres that are always open to hunting, guaranteeing that future generations have the same hunting opportunities that are enjoyed today. Also signed was Senate Bill 1597, introduced by State Senator Mark Norris (R-32), legislation prohibiting any government agency from regulating the lawful sale, possession, transfer, transport, and carry of firearms during a state of emergency, such as occurred following Hurricane Katrina. Governor Bredesen did not stop there, also giving his approval to House Bill 1907, the “Castle Doctrine†self-defense bill. HB 1907, championed by State Representative Randy Rinks (D-71), will permit an individual to use deadly force to protect him or herself wherever they have a legal right to be. The bill also provides civil immunity for those who defend themselves from criminal attack. Special thanks go out to State Senators Doug Jackson (D-25) and Paul Stanley (R-31) for sponsoring the Senate version of this legislation.
  21. My Brother in law told me that in North Carolina the last time they had a “State of Emergency†That their handgun carry permits became temporally void during that time. That the only place you were allowed to carry was on your own property. I was wondering if this is true for TN?
  22. Ahhhh. I kinda thought that after I made my post. By the way it took mine 61 days.
