  1. I have both the 226 and 220 22LR conversion kits for the Sig. I also have the 229 on the way. They are very well made and I have had zero problems with mine as long as I use a quality 22LR round such as the CCI. All these results are with the Mag Plug to change the magazine capacity from 10 rds to 15 rds. This mag plug is using the stock magazine spring. To start with I have used CCI Mini-Mags 40 gr and have shot over 500 rds in the 226 with zero problems. Only 50 round of the CCI in the 220 with zero problems. I shot 50 –100 rounds of CCI Stinger HP also with zero problems in the 226 They do like to run on the wet side. There has been a few reports the 220 mags have a fit problem.
  2. And some ask me why I love SIGS........... heck i was In "Love" at first sight. Nice Looking Sig there

Well I got to shoot this little 25. It shot good. I had a few HPs and a box of FMJs. At 10-15 feet nice groups. Sounds almost like a cap gun.

  7. Being a Gun owner is one thing. Using a gun as a tool another. Using a Gun as a form of recreation (be it targets or hunting) is yet another. But being able to have a NICE set of GUNS that you can afford to set back and only USE for looks and knowing they are semi rare and not every Tom Dick or Harry can have. Not to mention to have a set that isn’t shot 10-20 years down the road makes you a GUN Collector. If you can afford it by all means DO NOT SOOT them. Let others only wish and cry over your set and enjoy YOUR guns how YOU want to.
  8. Maybe one can look at like this? When you use the bathroom do you wipe? When you work hard and get all dirty do you take a shower that night? Do you brush your teeth after you eat or atleast at night? A shooter is only as good as his gun thus I treat them as I treat myself. Yes I am A.R. and Ill be the founding memeber.
  9. Nice shooting everyone.!!! Look at all those SIGs...............
  10. Ahhh yes.......... Thanks! Atleast I know now and I can sleep with not thinking about it.
  11. Am I crazy to feel like this? I cannot go to bed knowing I have a dirty handgun setting around. The other day after shooting a few in the backyard I was rushed to be someplace with the wife. So I locked up a DIRTY Gun to make our appointment on time. We came home around 11pm and I went straight to cleaning my gun that I had fired only 12 rounds in. The wife asked me if I had not just cleaned that gun and had only fired it just those few times in the backyard? She also stated she didn’t feel that cleaning a gun every time one is fired is needed. -- My reply was ( In my head) Go to bed woman. It is my gun my time and Ill do what I feel is needed. -- So I stopped cleaning and went to bed to only get up 2 hours latter to finish. SO: Am I crazy to feel like this? I cannot go to bed knowing I have a dirty handgun setting around.
  12. Thanks for everyones input. I guess I wasnt clear but I was only worried about security not so much Fire. But thanks all the same I got the message;)

  16. Yes the Necco Candy wafers would work very well. But I DO love them.
  17. yes a nice snack. also remember to shoot the bottom one first then up if you do more than one per thread. just in case you hit the thread.
  18. For some cheap easy to make 22LR targets: You need Thread Wax Vanilla wafers Melt some wax Cut different lengths of thread Lay the wafers flat side up 1 2 or 3 in a row ( how ever many you want) Lay the thread across the rows of wafers Pour a small amount of hot wax to adhere the thread to the wafer. Tie your rows in tree limbs or target frame Step back 50 to 100 yards and PLINK AWAY! Easy to do cheap and fun shooting for me.
  19. Thanks guys for the input. I feel ok now. Just hard to store alot of ammo. I guess its time to shoot a bit more.
  20. Storing ammo. I am running out of room in my gun safe. I do have a metal locker I was using as a temp safe until I bought a gun safe. My question is would you feel safe with only your ammo in a metal locker? It has 3 locks down the side and is bolted to the floor and wall from the insides. I know ammo should be treated as dangerous as a gun in the wrong hands but would a thief take time to get just ammo? Am I worrying too much and just use the locker? Or keep it stacked in the Gun safe. No its not fire proof but its all I have at the moment. Maybe I should buy a new fire proof safe just for ammo?

  22. All you guys have posted is good advice. I just hate when I have 800-1200$ in hand to spend and get no or little communication. Plus I hate to wait. But oh well. Ill try to slow down and I guess if I have to Ill give some a 2nd chance. Sorry for the rant. I just felt local wasn’t as good as some say but I see I need to give it more of a chance. I’m not their only customer.
  23. Ok I maybe sorry to post this but I will not name names and maybe some will re- think how they sell and their communications Anyways here goes. My rant is………. A lot of member’s here say BUY LOCAL and not on the Internet. This I do agree to BUT. I have Contacted 3 different dealers (On this board) by emails and phone calls that reply very little if any back to me. One was going to call back and never did. I ask for prices and if or will they get a certain gun (in others order me a gun) with no or little info contact back. I know you guys get a lot of tire kickers. I know it takes time to look up a price and then you get no sale. BUT Each time I have had cash in hand and ready to buy and I end up buying from the net form online dealers who take my phone calls and reply to me in emails and ship the same or next day. Sorry for such a negative post but sometimes the truth is the truth. I am not trying to start ANYTING with any local dealers. I just wish some would make a bit more effort to communicate better. I’m done now with my rant.
