I routinely drive through the Chickamauga Battlefield, which is federal land (the notion makes me sick to think about).

I have seen it a few times and I too figured it was just poor maintenance (like when someone drives past with their stereo rattling all the loose panels on their POS beater). This was the first time I'd heard of it.

Local laws where I am permit hunting within city limits but I think this would not qualify as hunting.
Actually had a similar situation a few years ago. Driving by the body of a dear in the turning lane when it lifted its head. It was a moot point though as it would not have been safe to stop and do anything about it anyway where it was.

One of the pros to building your own is that you can upgrade bits as-and-when your budget suits you. Instead of buying an average computer, you can get a decent graphics card this month, a better CPU in six months, a bigger/better hard-drive next year and so on.
For a gaming PC, your best bang-for-the-buck is going to be in the graphics card for which you'll probably be spending somewhere above 150 for something reasonably capable. If you need new core stuff, you're probably realistically looking for a new motherboard, CPU and memory (at least 8GB recommended) which you could pull together for around 200, possibly less. One gotcha is that your power requirements might put you in the market for a PSU upgrade. SSDs are definitely nice to have but I wouldn't put it as a priority. If you have a case, PSU and DVD drives (keyboard, mouse and monitor) that you're happy with, may as well stick with them as pay for new ones in a new system.
Then, of course, there's the operating system which I will make no comment upon.

And your making an assumption which regardless of what you report is still that...I'm more than certain you've been briefed in on the more pragmatic definition of assumption. There should be a computer box under the drivers seat of that transport van which may or may not prove to be useful and I suspect's already been downloaded. I do believe that Baltimore PD is under scrutiny which it well should be and if found culpable here should be held accountable.
You miss the point. In many ways it doesn't matter even if everything was handled properly in this case. The history has set the scene. I'm not justifying anything but on the flipside, I think that standing around asking "So why are people so upset before the facts come out?" is a bit disingenuous also.
"Sow the wind" and all that...
Edit: And now the officers are being charged with murder which is quite possibly unwarranted. This is what a lax attitude to "bad apples" brings you.

Man this thread's gone a bit deeper south then I'd expected with some pretty strong based on "media reports". There's a lot that could be said and more that shouldn't but here's what I'm certain of. None of us here know what really happened in Baltimore other than a subject was placed into police custody with injuries and not immediately provided medical treatment. I don't know why that happened because I wasn't there. None of you were either. That subject may or may not have sustained other injuries in a transport van, either self induced or otherwise. The same I/We weren't there applies. Some level of negligence is suspiciously possible but excessive force or civil rights violations? More data's needed. I'm suspicious but that proves nothing.
However, the fact that the "rough ride" is a well known thing sets the tone. If you have a force that's known to be scrupulously careful in the handling of suspects, that's one thing but if you have a culture of egregious violence, that's another.

To look at it the other way, though, maybe more minorities are engaged in police contact than non-minorities because more people who commit crimes happen to be minorities. I am not just making this up.
True enough. However, what this means that when the police misbehave, it falls disproportionately within those communities. It has a multiplicative effect. You have to look at the variables you can control and work with what you can. To me, that appears to be ending the justice system (as controlled by our democratically elected representatives) allowing bad cops to have an easy ride. We can also discuss crime rates but that's a whole other can of worms.

But tragic or not, this stuff just simply shouldn't be happening. Start adhering to the rule of law and then let's go from there...

There is also a thing you can do where you take a bunch of photographs and can work out a 3d model from it. You have to take a *lot* of photographs though.

I can sort of understand the Mayor's decision in this one. Letting the rage burn itself out is a technique. I'm not saying it's the right one, but I'm also not saying it's the wrong one.
I understand it as a tactic. I just think telling the perpetrators that that is what you're going to do is just plain stupid.

Another traffic law i'm confused about is where should your vehicle be in relation that big fat white line at a light or stop sign. It's been a long time since I took my drivers test but I always assumed that line was where your FRONT bumper should be when stopped. Apparently many if not most drivers believe that line is for anywhere between your rear tires and 4 feet behind your REAR bumper. :screwy:
The best bit about the rear-bumper people is that many lights are sensor lights so there's a good chance they won't change for you.

Ahh the center lane. Never have I seen so much use for it until I moved to Tennessee.
What gets me is people pull in to it then stop, put their blinker on and wait until they can merge. If you're going to pull in to it then pick up speed and actually merge because you can bet your butt that NO ONE is going to switch lanes to let you pull out. No. One.
I remember when I first moved here it took some getting used to. It's basically a 5th lane of traffic.This is actually a correct and legal use of the lane. There is a maximum travel rule (traveling in the turning lane is dangerous anyway).
Of course, then there are the people that come to a near-stop before entering the turning lane. Not sure what is going on in their minds.

States should be erecting partitions between the federal government and their police forces also.

I saw someone make a good point the other day that if the police want to be militarized, they should fall under the ucmj. That would soon put them straight.

Definitely HBO was ladeling the sex & nudity on but I think they backed off a bit when it turned out to be pretty good in its own right. Personally, it doesn't bother me much anyway but it does seem unnecessary sometimes.

I have bought one but I'm waiting on installing it on getting a new car or a new windshield. I got the B40 because it is fairly discreet (most are huge and hand off a suction cup. I think it will do the job but I'm thinking it's lack of rear-facing cam might definitely be a downside with some of the stuff I've heard going on recently.
It also doesn't have GPS built-in but it is apparently available via a module.

Got the bike cleaned up a bit today, it was looking a bit grubby. Think I'm going to try some new allergy medicine. Loratadine doesn't really do it and it's beginning to kick in.

I believe that site or one like it came up a while back in a different thread. As a motorcycle rider and liberty minded individual, the whole thing just makes me shake my head. "Territories" and "domainant club"s? Sheesh.
