  1. What type of chatroom was being used before? You could always do a chatroom that TGO doesn't have to host. There exists some ungodly number of IRC servers in the world that any old person can access - and you can create any old chatroom you want on it - and people probably won't just pop in if they don't know whta it is. There are also some irc client applets that can be put into a page so that the less tech savvy can just click 'launch chat' and it will launch an IRC client applet that auto connects to the correct server and joins the correct chat room.
  2. Being new to the gun hobby I am wondering how diligent I need to be with care / cleaning of my 10/22? Also - if anyone had a link with some guides on care and cleaning of the 10/22, suggested tools to buy for taking it apart ot clean, that would be much appreciated.
  3. To all concerned parties: My poor shoulder it hurts - and is terribly bruised... I suspect that after the first shot I was a little shaken and I didn't hold it quite as tightly as I ought to have. Mosin: 1 Pirate: 0
  4. I'm coming - and bringing a couple friends. If we don't make it to snappy tomato what time should we meet everyone at owl hollow? Also - whats the chance that someone will have a staple gun I can use?
  5. I'm going to bring my new 10/22 I've only shot it a couple times and this is my first gun. I'm also planning to bring a friend who has never shot before if thats ok.
  6. So I bought a 10/22. How much time should I spend with the iron sights before I purchase a scope? When I'm shooting I'm having a hard time seeing the sight at the end of the barrel while I'm focused on the target. Any advice?
  7. Shot a gun for the first time last weekend. Shot an M1 Carbine and a Sigma .40... The sigma was a little rough.
  8. I'd be interested in one of these if you have any left and are near Nashville. Is this as fun as the M1 to shoot?
  9. I am looking to buy my first gun. I've been told by numerous parties to buy a .22 as it will be easy to work on the basic mechanics of marksmanship and the ammo is much cheaper than the larger ammo. My question is what would be a good .22 to purchase? What should I avoid / look out for to make sure I get a quality piece of equipment but still pay a reasonable amount? Should I be looking to purchase a used .22 or should I buy a new rifle? Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Thanks, Pirate
  10. I'd like to attend - I'll have to see if I have been able to purchase a rifle by then. Perhaps I could get some shooting tips? I posted in the new member forums but the short story is I'm going to start learning how to shoot (I've only shot a gun once at a range in columbus, ohio last weekend) - as soon as I buy a rifle (.22).
  11. I found this forum while looking for an online place to arrange FTF sales. I'm 24 and I shot my first gun over labor day weekend. I had the opportunity to shoot an M1 Carbine, a Colt Army Special .32-20 (serial number is listed as 1917 I believe), and a .40 S&W Sigma. If I had known it was going to be so much fun I would have done it ages ago. I am now looking into purchasing my first gun - a rifle (Everyone seems to think I should spend time on a .22 for learning / ammo costs).
