  1. I've never bought anything there but it seems like a site members might use. Apparently, they were hacked and the CC numbers of all accounts has been compromised. Edit: Looks like the attackers were able to get unencrypted passwords also.
  2. Johnny Walker Blue. Christmas gift. It doesn't taste like any of the single malts I usually drink... We'll see if it grows on me.
  3. My dad wants a compound bow for Christmas. This would be his first bow though he had some experience shooting when he was much younger. Is it possible for me to get something thats not a piece of junk for under 200$? Should I be looking at the used market?
  4. This. These guys have more guns than any other gun shop around nashville. Service is legendarily bad... So I don't buy there, but I go look around an awful lot. I buy @ guns and leather.
  5. So I'm having some trouble with my direct TV dish and I'd be willing to pay 100$ to someone that dealt with it professionally to come and fix it. I write software for televisions and my company provides a free (to me) direct TV account to employees to test. They only issue is that because it's a corporate serve yourself account I need to point the dish my self. So far I've only been able to point the dish well enough to get the SD channels. I'd really like someone that installed dish's professionally to come and set it up. Send a PM if you can help.
  6. Just got a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster for my Glock 26 and it is really great. I'm a big guy with big pockets and it fits super well. For anyone looking for anything I highly suggest this pocket holster.
  7. I recently acquired a gun safe that has had the shelves and rifle stands removed by the previous owner and I can't seem to find any replacement shelf kit i can purchase. Does anyone have a creative solution or a place to get actual shelves?
  8. I only really have one Lion complaint... When the rosetta apps were broken the utility called, "WindowShadeX" that I use was broken also. It sucks.
  9. +1. Only thing he is missing is a longer range for rifles.. I'd pay as much as 150$ annually if I could shoot out to 500yards or so.
  10. As always great reporting from the journalist. Did anyone else notice the article says 3 men were responsible, shows three pictures, but has 4 men listed as jailed at the end.
  11. Hero gear and guns and leather in greenbriar. Not necessarily in that order. It's their awesome friendly customer service. There are a couple of other middle tn places I frequent where the service sucks and the employees are always kind of jerks so i make a special note of the stores that treat me well and are friendly.
  12. Missed the bit about needing rentals.. I am planning to be at Charlie's range in spring hill saturday and I'd be more than willing to let anyone shoot whatever I end up bringing with me.
  13. I'd strongly suggest Charlie's place down in Spring Hill. 5$ a person... outdoors.. lots of lanes... the people down that way are super friendly.
  14. I really don't see the big deal.. This doesn't seem like something that she should lose her job for. Especially considering that A) The event happened before she got the job / position and she isn't the one that released them... She probably shouldn't be punished for things that happened before she signed the "Morality clause" contract... nor should she be held responsible for others actions (The guy who released it). Edit: I delete the link to the pics because I don't know the policy here about that
  15. Somewhat on topic... My wife is a social worker and she isn't allowed to carry... No gun, No stun gun, no pepper spray.. no knife... It's really ridiculous given the places she goes and things she does (Children Services)... On a less related note... it's pretty funny the stories she tells about her co-workers.. she is probably the only conservative social worker they have... and has to constantly fight with her bosses so that people just giving their children a good spanking don't get in trouble..
  16. I've never gone hunting, hope to some day. I'll say this about cars though... I don't swerve to hit rodents, but I don't swerve away either. There are to many external dangers on a road for me to even try to swerve to miss a squirrel. The squirrel is an obstacle I know the car can overcome... Swerving just brings far to many potential problems into the situation for me to even be interested in it... I have friends that say, "Well, I only swerve around the squirrel when it's safe to"... And for me that's not really good enough. There are just to many unknowns when moving a 2 ton vehicle at 45 mph... Not to mention this puts you in the habit of swerving and may cause it to become instinctual. No thanks. If the rodent makes it great, if they don't I don't worry about it.
  17. It's about 450 lbs. It's the older version of the 1000$ redhead safe on basspro right now. I got it on the Nashville gov auction website. When I was picking it up I noticed they had an 800 lb or so champion safe in the warehouse that they hadn put up for sale yet.
  18. Just bought a redhead gun safe (One by granite security) that's 60" x 20" x 26" for 312$ without the shelves... its combo (not digital)... Good deal? Bad deal? Average deal?

    Ipad2

I considered the Xoom before buying a firest generation iPad (at a discount after the iPad 2 released).. and the Xoom just doesn't compare... The touch screen isn't as nice.. it feels flimsy.. and the software isn't polished enough... Which is sad.. because I really like the Xoom's (HoneyComb's) improved notifications and full OS feel (file system and what not)...
  20. That award seems really unlikely to be legit to me... But my sister loves her 709, for whatever that's worth.
  21. I'm from Ohio, been here 5 years now... and I think the biggest adjustment was Sunday. Most of the time the pace of things fits with my MidWest upbringing but Sundays are still amazing. In Ohio stores opened at mostly their normal times on a Sunday. Here things don't open until after noon... I don't mean AT noon, but after... Don't go shopping on Sunday before 1:00 it's an exercise in frustration. Better yet, go to church -> Brunch -> Home on sunday and no where else :-) Driving: People in TN drive far faster, and better, on the freeway than people elsewhere... and, as far as I can tell, far worse when they aren't on the freeway. Intersections are made to be blocked... turning signals don't matter... but no one is really in that big of a rush. In Ohio taking a trip more than 20 - 30 minutes from home was a really big deal... Here, going 2 hours a way is just a normal weekend trip to the gun shop. I suspect this attitude towards driving long distances comes from having such a long state? Trees: Trees here are gorgeous and everywhere... You can feel like you live in the country while being a couple minutes from a mall. The flip side is that you'll have allergies... Even if you've never had allergies in your entire life... you will here.. Buy the allergy meds behind the counter.. they are the only ones that work for me. lifestyle: My experience on the south (atleast TN) has been that everyone is super nice and helpful... but they also big on minding their own business. I've met some very conservative folks here that don't want to go fight against things like gay marriage... They mostly just want to be left alone to live their life their own way... Without interference from government and without telling anyone else how to live their life. That's really the reason I love TN... The do what you'd like attitude.
  22. If they are selling them for 580$ I need to make a trip up there and preorder mine.
