Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I can see the usefulness of possibly converting some of the unwashed masses, the type of people who strictly follow what they believe to be public opinion. My comment was more that the votes themselves were not indicative of a true change of public interest.

Well they haven't mailed my permit yet so I don't carry yet, but I bought a few different brands and shot them all and I felt the most comfortable with and was most accurate with gold dots. Specifically 9mm 124g +P gold dots. So that is what I will be carrying once my permit arrives.

That and every firearms related forum I've read anything on since the VT shooting had a couple threads telling all their members to vote on these things. The CNN one probably got the most traffic from the general public and as such is more centralized. I'm not saying its a bad thins they turned out this way just noting that it may not be much of a victory, probably just preaching to the converted.

I woke up early this morning and I wasn't tired and felt rested, that's how I knew today would be a good day. Got a good parking spot when I arrived at school, got an 'A' paper back, and an 'A' test back. After class I went to the DOS to submit my HCP paperwork, found out that they had a different address on file than the one on my drivers license but the woman who was filing my paper work was the nicest DMV worker on the planet and helped me straighten it out, even got me a new license for free. Then I went to gander mountain because I had a gift card, which was a mistake because I ended up buying a Beretta U22 Neos to plink with. Even though they look ridiculous I thought it would be a fun gun to own and cheap to shoot, I'm not trying to win any bullseye pistol tournaments thats for sure. So all in all a good day, and it involves a new gun so I figured I'd post it up.

Submitted mine today as well, can't get fingerprinted until Monday but I called and got my number anyway.

.22 update: Talked to her dad who has had it since the move from Michigan, he says he has since taken it out and sighted in the scope and that it is quite accurate. I'm actually looking forward to shooting it myself .

It has a scope from what I've heard. I haven't seen it but she says it isn't sighted correctly. We have to go pick it up on Friday from her parents house. I didn't even know she owned one until Monday when I told her I might go shooting on Saturday and she says "can we go get my .22, then I'll come too."
