It technically isn't actually done yet. the trigger guard/ mag catch is messed up, so i'm getting a new one of those. I'm getting a krebs safety. I think the front sight is canted. And the barrel is still in the white.

Ok, so imagine an AMD-65 with and underfolder, a romy uf dong handguard, and a Tabuk flash hider. That is going to be the plan for the above kit. For the actual Khyber Pass build, I have purchased a Yugo kit, and that should be coming in shortly. Will post pics whenever it gets here.

Thanks for the luck. I will probably need it as there is no part for the barrel to be pressed into the trunnion with... I just put it there to give a general look of the kit. And I will probably end up getting rid of the barrel stubs. Maybe even with the parts on there.

I will post more pics of parts as I go along. I'm still looking for parts though.... you know just in case you have any just laying around or something like that...

I feel so special. My first was a 1911. Then, not  too long ago, my dad decide to give me his Lorcin L9mm. I feel as if they just took a GLOCK, made the grip beefier, and put a half-ass grip safety on it. The trigger pull is like mush. It was jamming like a mother humper for the first magazine-and-a-half I put through it. After that it got to an okay, not too jammy phase. Then I was reading some horror stories about them exploding, and the front part of the slide flying off in the middle of shooting it. I think I'll just sell it and get a TN made Beretta 92.

How about something like this? Or, practically anything from all the Dead Space and Halo games.

What I might do for right now at least, is let someone else hold the actual stock and barrel for me. I'll have to "call back tomorrow, as the NFA division is closed right now."   ***EDIT*** or I guess the option of pinning the muzzle device is an option put back on the table.

You sir are correct. Headspacing an ak is basically like another firearm; it's all in the front part. The only reason I don't build it into a pistol is because I have a side-folding trunnion, which has the hole for a pin to go through. And as of right now the stock is sitting here on my computer desk, not in the trunnion. Just in case. I'm trying to be as legal as possible, but I also have another ak here. Hoping that doesn't give me jail time...

I could see someone making that argument. just put your arm all the way through the hole in the handle and make an 80o angle with your arm. Let's do it!!!

Robertrtg said they may have a shipment coming in in the next month or so. They didn't know where to get them either. Apex just said they don't have any and don't know where to get them. I will check other forums and update you on my progress. Thanks for the help though.

Does anyone know where I can find an East German MPi-km gas block? I want it for my current build, and I feel like making it a mutt. And for this mutt I require an East German MPi-km gas block. I'm fairly sure they are milled and that is really the only reason I want one. I would go with a Romanian one, but I guess it's my OCD that is completely saying "It won't be from the same gun, so now none of the parts, minus the bolt, bolt carrier, and trunnion, can be from the same country." Please, if you either have one, know where I can acquire one, inform me about it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably just use a friend's phone. Then I'll let my cousin in TX hold it for me. He is more of a cowboy gun kinda guy. He shouldn't mind, and I doubt that you could fit it to a lever 30-30. I hope... :leaving:

Is it bad that don't really trust any of my friends to hold that barrel for almost a year? It's really not that they will "lose" it or anything. It's just that they'll forget it's mine then use it on their own build. Or sell it, or something like that.

  So should I just sit here and wait to see if the ATF is going to bust down my door? Or permanently attach the muzzle device, to be 100% safe? I would like to wait, but I also don't want the ATF to bust down my door and deem my current firearm to be readily convertible with the necessary parts to do so.   ***EDIT*** I just thought about something. Since I have an ak, and a hacksaw, does that by default make me the not-so-proud owner of an illegal SBR? I mean, a Dremel could also do the trick, so would that make the majority of the people on the forums in general be not-so-proud owners of illegal SBR's too?
