1. I'd imagine this is true unless you're the one that's wrongly convicted. I'd bet you'd feel differently about it then.
2. I believe the HPD told the fellow that people 18 years or older had to have ID, so no curfew unless they declared marshal law up there.
3. Really? How about if you were an innocent on death row...would you be willing to die for this principle?
4. Most certainly it is the norm in smaller courts throughout the nation. Watching corrupt judges, prosecutors, and police is why I left my police department in 1993. Call me an idealist, but I couldn't be so much as even tacitly involved in that system any longer.
5. No, it makes more sense to tell them no and sue the crap out of them if they do not leave you alone afterwards. That isn't trying to win on the side of the road; it's standing up for your rights and let the chips fall where they may. Complaints won't get you squat because obviously the department supports this considering all the comments about HPD.
6. I believe it's "Innocent until proven guilty" so why do they have to prove innocence?
7. Would you have these sentiments if you were the innocent in jail?
8. That would be remedied by the jurisdiction having to pay the expenses of the defense if the suspect is acquitted.
9. It doesn't matter how many guilty there are. If they can't prove their case then all should go free.
10. I can't say as I like the way the question is phrased. If you know they are guilty then why would you be letting them go for the sake of the innocent? In my opinion, (and I don't care who sees it), no innocent person should be imprisoned and no guilty person should go free. Is that realistic? No. In today's American society where there is rampant judicial/prosecutorial misconduct I would say that way too many innocent people are being convicted, (or plead-out). I think that there should be criminal offenses attached to actions that constitute judge/prosecutor/police misconduct resulting in a conviction for even a simple traffic ticket. Today it seems that they feel justified in sinking to the criminal standard to win a case. I knew a former LEO who stated to me once that he had no problem with lying on the witness stand when he was an officer because the suspect was lying as well. Aren't judges, prosecutors, and LEOs supposed to be held to a higher standard than the criminal?
11. In the NY case the person was actually arrested for trespassing in a closed public park. She was held by the excuse that they had to confirm her ID before releasing her, and it was agreed that the arresting officer was a dick in not taking her to get her ID.In this case I'd tell the HPD officer to go pack sand.
12. Famous Dave's in Smyrna is giving their two meat dinner too. I'm going with several vets tonight! Semper Fi!
13. Thanks. That's my alternate plan if whatever I buy doesn't fit my feet too well. Orthotics tend to be pricey, but I can't afford to get lame in the field. No one's going to carry my 300 lbs butt back to camp.
14. Unfortunately, Merrells only go up to size 14 wide. I have a pair of their Mocs, but I can only wear them for short periods before they hurt my middle toe. Unfortunately, I wear a 15 because my foot is a 14 but my first three toes are the same length. This requires either a large toe box, (which is impossible to find unless you can afford custom boots/shoes), or wearing size 15. The latter means I rarely get a shoe that fits well. I can remember only one pair of Nike running mocs that I absolutely wore everywhere until my wife made me get ride of them because my toes were poking through the tops.
15. My logic is that a higher end military boot would be better made and comfortable.
16. ANybody hear of Magnum Boots? They are coming out with a Spider 8.1 HPi in Multicam that look like an athletic shoe with a boot upper. Men's Magnum 8" Spider 8.1 HPi @ MilitaryBoots.com
17. I am looking for hiking/hunting boots. I like lightweight but supportive shoes since I have a collapsed arch and Morton's Neuroma in my left foot. While on a camping weekend I discovered that I also needed something better suited for supporting my ankles while on such outings, hence the search for a good boot. Suggestions on a lightweight but supportive boot?
18. Eeeeewwwww, you eat poop?
19. I wondered the same thing and I'm not a hunter.
20. Just like anything else on this website you can take or leave it as you wish. I just copied and pasted what I thought would be helpful. Considering the source of the info compared to the concerns raised by some here I'm not afraid.
21. Your tap water has chlorine gas in it too...are you concerned with that as well? The instructions say to dilute a cup of bleach with a gallon of water before adding the white vinegar?

NFPA 704

03 0 OX

Chlorine is a toxic gas that irritates the respiratory system. Because it is heavier than air, it tends to accumulate at the bottom of poorly ventilated spaces. Chlorine gas is a strong oxidizer, which may react with flammable materials.[53] Chlorine is detectable with measuring devices in concentrations of as low as 0.2 parts per million (ppm), and by smell at 3 ppm. Coughing and vomiting may occur at 30 ppm and lung damage at 60 ppm. About 1000 ppm can be fatal after a few deep breaths of the gas.[23] Breathing lower concentrations can aggravate the respiratory system, and exposure to the gas can irritate the eyes.[54] The toxicity of chlorine comes from its oxidizing power. When chlorine is inhaled at concentrations above 30 ppm, it begins to react with water and cells, which change it into hydrochloric acid (HCl) and hypochlorous acid (HClO). When used at specified levels for water disinfection, the reaction of chlorine with water is not a major concern for human health. However, other materials present in the water may generate disinfection by-products that can damage human health.
22. I saw this on another forum and thought it was good info for here too... [h=2] Mold killer - highly effective formula[/h] I've used this formula for years and realized I should share it here at TGT. This formula eats o-rings/seals in hand pump spray bottles. Rinse bottle including pump mechanism with water thoroughly after each use if you expect to reuse bottle. Even then, bottle is only good for a few uses. The shelf life of this mixture is extremely short so I recommend you mix only what you need. I learned that by using some @ 2 months after I'd mixed it. The 'old' stuff was nearly ineffective. . Please, do not call mold 'mildew'. It's like calling a magazine a 'clip' for those in the know. . Vinegar increases killing power of bleach Adding white vinegar to diluted household bleach greatly increases the disinfecting power of the solution, making it strong enough to kill even bacterial spores. Researchers from MicroChem Lab, Inc. in Euless, Texas, report their findings today at the 2006 ASM Biodefense Research Meeting. . Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) in the form of laundry bleach is available in most households. The concentrate is about 5.25 to 6 percent NaOCl, and the pH value is about 12. Sodium hypochlorite is stable for many months at this high alkaline pH value. . "Laundry bleach is commonly diluted about 10 to 25-fold with tap water to about 2000 to 5000 parts per million of free available chlorine for use as an environmental surface disinfectant, without regard to the pH value of the diluted bleach. However, the pH value is very important for the antimicrobial effectiveness of bleach ," says Norman Miner, a researcher on the study. . At alkaline pH values of about 8.5 or higher, more than 90 percent of the bleach is in the form of the chlorite ion (OCl-), which is relatively ineffective antimicrobially. At acidic pH values of about 6.8 or lower, more than 80 percent of the bleach is in the form of hypochlorite (HOCl). HOCl is about 80 to 200 times more antimicrobial than OCl-. . "Bleach is a much more effective antimicrobial chemical at an acidic pH value than at the alkaline Ph value at which bleach is manufactured and stored. A small amount of household vinegar is sufficient to lower the pH of bleach to an acidic range," says Miner. . Miner and his colleagues compared the ability of alkaline (pH 11) and acidified (pH 6) bleach dilutions to disinfect surfaces contaminated with dried bacterial spores, considered the most resistant to disinfectants of all microbes. The alkaline dilution was practically ineffective, killing all of the spores on only 2.5 percent of the surfaces after 20 minutes. During the same time period the acidified solution killed all of the spores on all of the surfaces. . "Diluted bleach at an alkaline pH is a relatively poor disinfectant, but acidified diluted bleach will virtually kill anything in 10 to 20 minutes," says Miner. "In the event of an emergency involving Bacillus anthracis spores contaminating such environmental surfaces as counter tops, desk and table tops, and floors, for example, virtually every household has a sporicidal sterilant available in the form of diluted, acidified bleach." Miner recommends first diluting one cup of household bleach in one gallon of water and then adding one cup of white vinegar . . ### . MicroChem Lab can be found online at www.microchemlab.net . 23. Truth or not would it be as bad as Clinton? They have said the pay-out amounts on the news, and judging from that I would say that it was pretty minor stuff to begin with let alone being compared to Slick Willie.EDIT: This is more a comment on the hypocrisy of the left.
