I do plan to rent a shotgun, but I am still trying to determine which one will over penetrate the least. My gut tells me that the AR will penetrate more. I don't want to use birdshot in a shotgun, but I think I am open to going down to #4 buckshot if over penetration is less but will still do the job.

Which is more likely to go through walls? #1, #4 buckshot or the typical AR round? List in order from most likely to least likely.
-
This is so confusing. The first article looked more promising. But this article (http://how-i-did-it.org/drywall2/) looked worse. I would like to see a test with #4 and #1 buckshot through drywall. Overpenetration is a big concern.

Can you (or anyone) elaborate on why an AR15 would be a better choice than a shotgun?

‘Open Carry’ Gun Fight Moves to Target Stores

What happens when someone is legitimately afraid when they see one of these people come in a store and pulls their handgun and shoots them? -
So is it legal or not?

So disregarding finances, I can have a nuclear bomb? There are no laws prohibiting it?
-
Well based on that definition, why can't I have a nuclear bomb?

You should email them. Mine was like that then I emailed them and it got shipped out. I like it so far but I really don't have anything to compare it to since it's my first.
-
It looks good. I am wanting to do this too. Can you maybe do a write up with a parts list?
-
To conceal it more you may try to clip it to your pants and put the belt over it. I'm still testing it but my clips are pretty strong so it just may work.

I want to strip the CLP off my gun to try some Frog Lube. What can I use to clean it off? Preferably something I already have around the house. Gun is a Sig P226 if it matters.

I am confused as to what to use in an apartment in a 12 gauge. Is a #1 still too much?

What side saddle, case and shoulder sling do you guys recommend or does it even really matter?

But you have to admit that what they wrote down was coming from their life experiences and perspectives. I haven't heard of this position about the mentally ill. Do you have a link discussing that? Are mentally ill people prevented from voting in places?
-
Sure why not ask about a 2 year old or six month old? If I understood your previous response you seem to support anyone having a gun so I wanted to test that theory. A lot of times the Supreme Court tries to understand what the original intent of the law was when trying to interpret its meaning. Do you think the framers had in mind for 2 year olds to bear arms when the Bill of Rights was written or mentally ill people perhaps (what about witches :))? I realize a lot of members here really love guns and are going to be biased toward everything being pro gun, but try to put your mind back to the 1700's and try to logically think what the 2A was about/for. So again do you think they meant for 2 year olds or mentally ill people to bear arms? Another question, do you think the framers had any thoughts on a person's capacity to cause many deaths in a short time frame with some weapon? For example, would they have been ok with all citizens possesing bombs that could kill 100 people at a time? Would they desire to somehow determine who could possess such power? I am asking these questions not only to challenge but also to learn and grow myself.

Are you sure you want a 5 year old having a gun?

Which one guys? www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/56472/Remington+870+Express+Tactical+12ga+18%22+Ghost+Ring+Sights www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411540290 Also, are these really 7+1 capacity? They seem like they will only hold 6. What accessories should I get to go with it?

Recommend me a green laser/light combo

All opinions appreciated. -
I have a Sig P226 with a rail. Of course the smaller the better. I am leaning toward the Viridian X5L. The C5L has an issue with polymer threads in the battery compartment so I am not really wanting to go that route. Anyone have any better suggestions? I also need a OWB kydex holster for this gun to use at the range. Should I have made a separate post for that?

I was looking on Bud's gun shop and I don't think I want to spend $1200 on a VersaMax tactical shotgun. Especially since I could spend the extra money on an AR. Also it has a 22" barrel. It seems most of the shotguns I am interested in have a 18" barrel. Is 22" too long? They have a 870 police for about $650. Is that a reasonable price? If you guys know of where I can get a better price please speak up. :)

Thanks for the awesome post! For give some of my noob questions but I am new at this. 1. What do you mean by the 'pistol grip swings a little faster'? 2. What are some good autoloading shotguns? 3. How much should I be looking to pay? 4. I assume regarding shells that 000 is larger than 00, 00 is larger than 0 and so on? 5. Can you expand on this? "Learn the "select-slug" drill, in case you find yourself needing to make a longer shot. The easiest (not the fastest, but the most foolproof) is: Rack slide, insert slug into tube rack slide. It's not the quickest, and you put two rounds of buckshot on the deck, but it always works, no matter how full your tube or what kind of gun you have." I'm not exactly sure what you mean here. 6. What is a 'turkey choke'? I also read a review of some 870 model that didn't have the standard barrel that could be interchanged, do you know what model(s) that is (I can't find it now)? I want to avoid that. Thanks!

I was talking about the ones that still have the shoulder stock but the grip is like a handgun.
-
Any reason to get a pistol grip over a normal stock? I am thinking just the normal stock. I have never fired a shotgun before BTW.
-
That will come after the shotgun. I would like advice on getting a good deal on an AR also.
