  1. No, it only accepts the newer magazines, the release has nothing to do with it, I was lucky and was in a shop in Houston texas that had both configurations of the 21SF in hand, the Glock rail and the Picitanny rail, so I got to see the difference, the Glock rail did not have night sights, so I used gun Genie Davidson's Gun gallery and ordered one, it took like 3 months for it to be resourced locally but it was worth the wait, I trully like this gun which was a huge shock to me since I am a 1911 guy!

I really like mine also although the bulky grip took some getting used to but it's alot of .45 in a reliable handgun.

  2. Nope, the Glock rail is smoother, less jagged and looks far better in my opinion, mine also has the single side mag release

I would prefer a smooth rail or no rail but I didn't have that choice when I bought it. Probably never going to mount anything on it anyway. So with the single side mag release you can use original G21 mags I take it?

  3. I agree with Canyn. One of the most common questions I ask new shooters looking for a carry gun or even home defense gun is how often they intend to practice.

Alot of people just want the security and peace of mind of owning a firearm. They do not want to shoot IDPA, take advanced classes, or become "gun people." For these people a revolver is just fine. It's simple to clean and operate.

Plus, teaching someone to shoot a DA revolver is alot easier than teaching someone how to clear a jam or operate a semi-auto reliably if they aren't going to devote much time to train. A DA trigger pull is easy to overcome by doing hand exercises and strengthening the grip and trigger finger.

Just my 2 pennies as well.

EDIT: I do also agree that just handing someone a 2" snubby as the end all be all is not the answer either.

I'm in the revolver crowd also for new shooters, what you said about practice is key. Too many gun owners buy a handgun, take it to the range and shoot a couple of boxes of ammo then put it in their nightstand drawer and never clean and lube it. For those people I believe they're better served with a revolver.

  4. I always thought it might make a good apartment gun in case you don't want your .357 round going through your neighbors wall, and his neighbors wall. Load it with #7 shot and practice face shots.

Besides that it's just a novility gun. I would rather buy a good S&W in .45Colt.

  5. History repeats itself... My only wish is to survive long enough to see those who voted for him to feel the consequences of his societal perversions, before I'm locked away in a 'radical conservative re-education camp' or executed by one of these stormtroopers he wants to create (or maybe the term will be sol'djas).

Welcome to the Empire of Change!

If it gets that bad my choice will be going out in an honorable fire fight.

This time I will support kids burning their draft card.

  6. Sorry if this has already been posted.

    From the article:

    Boom times at gun shops

    By Jay Price

The (Raleigh, N.C.) News & Observer

    Published: Saturday, Nov. 08, 2008 | Page 4A

RALEIGH, N.C. – President-elect Barack Obama said he would improve the economy. Turns out he already has, at least in one retail niche: gun sales.

Starting in the days before the election, gun shops have been mobbed by buyers who fear that Obama and a larger Democratic majority in Congress will restrict firearm sales.

  7. You can HOPE for euphoria all you want, but when the drug wears off reality is harder than before. False is hope is worse than despair, because it takes you to the highest floor and then gently nudges you off!

Think about the movie Independence Day when the morons are all celebrating on the rooftops and the light of their joy and hope shines on them..... right before it obliterates the entire city....... yeah, I see parallels. :usa:

"Freedom dies with a thunderous applause"

  8. Good news for TN but will it matter now?:usa:

After the socialists in DC kill states rights it probably wont matter, but it is fun to hear that Nafieh is history soon as speaker even though the idiot dolts in his district re-elected him. Bredesen is probably going to show more of his true colors and veto any gun bills passed by the state house and senate, probably got a burr in his britches from loosing democratic majority.

  9. I like and have voted for her before. She does what she says and says what she will do. Straight up lady!

Thanks, be sure to write her in election day. Don't allow the totalitarians take our vote away.

Actually, everyone should be angered at this even if they didn't like or vote for Kurita because simply of the fact that Bredesen and the state Democratic party crapped on the peoples Constitutional right to select our representitives.

Oh and I know Bredesen is involved because he held a fund raiser for Barns, and this type of screw the people tactic also smells of Jimmy Nafieh.

  10. Well I'm about to go to Walmart here shortly and I will have my G21SF on my side but covered with a long shirt the way I always carry it. If I reach up on a shelf to get something and the muzzle shows I can't get arrested for it, that why I personally like OC but I will always try to hide my handgun. I will say again that I will never buy anything gun related at Walmart for their cowardly deal with the Bloomberg drones but I will buy groceries etc.

There will always be the liberal eekers out there who will pee their panties if they see a gun on your side, you can't change their mind so I wont even try to but I also wont purposely try to start an argument with them, some would even probably call a LEO and the situation would then become an inconvienent hassle. Now I wont give in to them either.

  11. I'm surprised that I would be stumping for a Democrat, well, an ex-Democrat but there is a choice between her, an NRA supported candidate who rightfully won the primary election, and Tim Barns who, with the help of a few totalitarian Democratic party officials supported by Chancellor Bredesen and no doubt Heir Nafieh was stripped of her candidacy because they didn't approve of the peoples vote. Kurita voted against Gean (booger) Wilder as the speaker of the Senate and was replaced by a republican. That angered the state Democrats so they decided on their own to void the election. A tactic that Nazi's and Stalinists would do.

So if you live in this district please write in Kurita. Since it's the general election republicans can vote for her.

  12. I was just kidding :P. Unless someone out there wants to take me up on it hehe.

Well, I would use it as a primary plinker, however it is quite bulky and bolt action.

The Savage/Stevens, and there were Savage/Springfield, same gun, are semi-autos. The bolt handle can be pushed in for shooting .22 shorts because they wont cycle in semi auto. Pull the bolt handle out for shooting .22LR's in semi-auto.

  13. After talking to my grandmother, I have discovered that the .22 belonged to my grandfather, so I think that selling it is now out of the question. How much do you think a smith would charge to look over it and make sure it is in working order, as I am hardly qualified to do this.

The Marlin, on the other hand, was given to my aunt by a couple who were renting her cabin, apparently they couldn't make rent that month. Anyways, I don't think I would have any qualms with selling it. 35 rem. appears to be extremely expensive ammo, making it in no-way-shape-or-form a fun gun. And I am not much of a hunter and I doubt I will ever be. Hmm... decisions decision.

Trading Marlin 336C 35 REM for fully functioning and tacticool AR15!!! :dirty:

Well there you go, if the Stevens/Savage .22 is a good functioning rifle then you already have a good .22. I have one missing the magizine plunger, it was originally my brothers and I remember it being a reliable, accurate .22. You can also push the bolt handle in to keep it from ejecting and shoot .22 shorts in it.

  14. Well, I went to both the Chattanooga and Turkey Creek Wal-Marts today and discovered that Walmart no longer carries 10/22s due to a pending lawsuit. They only carry muzzleloaders. I went to Dick's and they were selling the stainless for $249. I also went to Gander Mountain and they had them for $269. I was, however, quite disappointed with the models at each store because they were so short.. I have heard that there are 20" barrel models at Wally world, these did not seem to be 20".

I was going to stop at Guns and More and CCA but they were both closed. I will go out to both again later this week to take a peek, I also saw a billboard advertising a gunshow, I believe it was around the 20th.

Anyways, you make a good point about having the extra money to put towards an AR... how dare you manipulate my weak point!!

I will take a look at some Marlins!

I bought mine at Wal-Mart for $180. That was before they made the cowardly deal with Bloomberg. Now I wont buy any guns products from Wally World anymore, not even a pack of barrel patches. JMO.

Shortly after I saw a 10-22 at Dicks Sporting Goods for around the same price.

  15. No they do not,

I am a 1911 guy through and through, that is my carry gun and will always be, However I will be getting a G21SF for a home defense pistol from Hero Gear, I am trading one of my 1911's for it and a SBS Benelli Shotgun, Glocks are Die Hard reliable firearms that go bang when you pull the trigger every time, I have never owned one but have shot several if you want a 1911 to be as reliable, you will pay alot of money for a High end one like I have several times, for the money Glocks are the best no frills pistol on the market and have been proven to be more than reliable, the thing I will like best about it, is that it is ugly and I can beat the crap out of it and never worry

    Waadid I say? ;)

I traded one of the first production Kimber Custom Classic's for my G21SF, I loved that Kimber, there was no other handgun I've had that was as accurate as that Kimber but it wasn't as reliable as I would have liked it. I was sad to see it go but I thought I had made a logical decision since I didn't have the $$$ to buy the Glock outright. I can't print targets with the G21 like I could with the Kimber but I can hit the center of a torso target with it 13 times and never had to clear a failure to go into battery malfunction with it like I had to do quite a few times with the Kimber.
