    Oil prices

I know times are tough. Even for the big oil companies. I mean, Exon Mobile only made 45 BILLION dollar profit! Those poor oil people. I was told that the reason that the price was going up. The oil refinery workers were THINKING ABOUT GOING ON STRIKE! Thinking about going on strike? And big oil can't give them a raise? Give me a break. Big oil companies are and have been ripping us off for years. We have no recourse. Either buy it or don't buy it. But Osama is going to save us all. Osama, what a joke. gearyr
  3. I got on the ATF web site to get the forms for a C&R. This was about 13 days ago. Haven't got them yet! I used to have a C&R years ago. But let it expire. Now I wish I had renewed it back then. Get ready to spend a lot of money on your new hobby. It will save you money in the long run. The first C&R rifle I bought was a Mosin Nagant M44. It was fine. I only paid $70.00 for it. If I had bought it a gunshow, it would probably cost me at least $125.00. So good luck on your new hobby. gearyr.
  4. Try http://magnusbullet.powweb.com/store/page13.html. They have .45 ACP FMJ bullets and 9mm bullets. I just bought 1000 .45 230 grain FMJ from them. Also, try www.rozedist.com. They sell .45 and 9mm too. I e mailed them a few days ago. I need 1000 9mm, 115 grain FMJ. They have them. But they are running about 2 weeks behind. Roze has free shipping to. gearyr.
  5. 2nd Amendment Gun Shop in Springfield, TN! The class cost $50.00. Great guys at this place. The guy that gave the class is Tim Riggs. Also great prices on handguns. Their phone # is 615-384-5255. gearyr
  6. Went to the Gallatin, TN Wal Mart today. They didn't have hardly any handgun ammo. No .45 ACP at all. Some Win. 9mm, .38 Special. And a lot of 22. I am glad that I reload .45 ACP and 9mm. Just bought 1000 rounds of .45 ACP, 230 grain FMJ off of Reloaders Auction.com. $113.00+113.00 shipping & insurance. Not to bad. The only place close to me that sells reloading supplies is The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet. I was over there Thursday. Got some gun powder. They did not have any 45 230 grain FMJ at all! No 9mm 115 grain FMJ bullets either. Guess I will be looking on the web and try to find some 9mm bullets. gearyr
  7. I got fingered printed 12-31-08. That was on a Wed. Got my HCP Wed., 1-21-09. Exactly 3 weeks. Man that was fast. I thought it would at least take a month. gearyr.
  8. I have plenty of .45 ACP and 9mm ammo. I reload! But you can never have to much ammo on hand. I like my Ruger P90. But I also have a Ruger P89 that I will carry to. But it is about as heavy as the P90. The 9mm holds 15+1 in the chamber. Bought some Winchester 9mm 147 grain SXT for my carry rounds. I would like to buy a compact 9mm pistol. But I work at Bridgestone Tire Plant in LaVergne, TN. We have had 1 layoff in Dec. That got 149 production workers. They won"t be back. As of yesterday, the company will be having another layoff starting March. That will get 294 more of us. But I should be ok. I have been there 31 years. It will get down to, about 500 workers left. My plant wide ranking is 132. You guys need to go out and buy more of the tires we make! So I will stick with my Ruger P89 &P90 for right now. gearyr
  9. It has been exactly 3 weeks and it is here. I went to the HCP class at 2nd Amendment Gun Shop 12-28-08. To the drivers license station 12-30-08. Fingered printed 12-31-08. It took 3 weeks and I have got my HCP. Now strapping on my Ruger P90. I should have done this sooner. Thanks, gearyr.
  10. If you want a class even sooner. Call 2nd Amendment Gunshop in Springfield. They do their class on Sunday's. Only cost me $50.00. There was only 13 people taking it that day. Took the class on Dec. 28. To the drivers license station Dec. 30. Fingered printed Dec.31. 1-21-2009 will be 3 weeks it has been gone. I called DOS last Wed. and they told it had been processed. I should get in 7-14 days. I will see. gearyr
  11. I am in my 2nd week waiting on the state. I did my class 12-28-08. Got a certified copy of my birt cert 12-29-08. Went to the drivers license place 12-30-08. Got fingered printed 12-31-08. Now the wait is on. How long should I wait before calling about it? Thanks, gearyr I just called about the status on my HCP. They told me I would get it in 7-14 days! And I was going to wait till next Wed. before I called about it. So I have got to get busy and find good holsters for my Ruger P89 &P90. I have a ACE that fits both of them. It has the pouch on it for a extra magazine. A lot of weight with the P89 with 2 15 round mags. So I am really happy that my HCP will be here soon!!!! gearyr.
  12. I have applied for my TN HCP. Been 2 weeks. What I want to know is this. Is it better to use factory loaded personel defense loads vs. hand loaded HP ammo? I am taking about the legal aspect. I have 2 semi auto's that I will use for my carry handgun. A ruger P89 and a Ruger P90. I have loaded up plenty of the Hornady 185 grain XTP for my Ruger .45 acp. And 115 grain XTP 9mm for my Ruger P89. None of these are a hot load. Just want to be sure which I should use. Factory or my reloads. Thanks, gearyr
  13. I want to buy some Winchester 147 grain SXT 9mm ammo. Does any body know where I can find any at? My son found 1 box of 20 and 1 box of the Win. Black Talon at a pawn shop in Gallatin. Both for $50.00 out the door. My son sold me the SXT. I want to buy at least 2 more boxes. They are going to be used in my Ruger P89. For my carry gun and load. And if any body knows where I can aslo find some Win. SXT in .45 ACP. I live right out side of Gallatin, TN. Thanks, gearyr.

    Gallatin Gun Club

I am a member of the GGC. I tried the web site. Looks like it is down right now. Don"t know why. We have close to 800 members now. You can contact Ron Jackson on getting info on how to join. But you will have to get on a waiting list. Ron Jackson e mail is ronjackson@comcast.net . If you can e mail me, I have the forms that you need to fill out. My e mail gearyr@comcast.net. Hope this helps. gearyr
  15. No, I am not going. I am going to The Gallatin Gun Club range 1-20-09. I am going to take my Remington Model 700, LSS, .300 Win. magnum. Going to set up some cantalopes at 100 yards, 200 yards, and 300 yards. And try to pop each one with one shot. HA, HA! gearyr
  16. Same here. I got finger printed yesterday (12-31-08). I did not take long at all. They use a scanner instead of ink. Now the wait is on. I got finger printed at The Sumner County Board of Education in Gallatin, TN. Funny isn't it. Can't take a handgun on school property, but can get finger printed at the Board of Education. What number do you call to check on the status of the permit? Thanks, gearyr
  17. I had a blast at 2nd Amendment Gun shop. The 2 guys that gave the class are alright! Made 100% on the shooting part. 97% on the paper test. Went Monday and got a certifed copy of my birth cert. Today ( Tuseday ), went to the Gallatin drivers license place and filled out the paper work. Then $115.00 and my pic made. Going to (now get this) The Sumner County Board of Education and get finger printed tommorow. Then wait till the state gets around to checking every thing and send me my permit. I highly reccommend 2nd Amendment Gun Shop on their HCP class. Only $50.00. They also have good prices on firearms to. gearyr.
  18. I have put it off to long. I am going to 2nd Amendment Gun Shop in Springfield this Sunday. This guy only charges $50.00 for the class. Can't wait to go to the class and shoot my 48 rounds. Then Monday to Nashville, TN to Vital Records to get a certifed copy of my birth cert. Then, to the drivers license center in Gallatin, TN to give the state my $115.00. Finally getting to go! I feel like a kid at Christmas. gearyr.
  19. Once you get started, you can"t quit. I started loading .45 ACP for my Ruger P90. I started in 2002. I did not know a thing about reloading. I found a great web site. It is www.surplusrifle.com. This guy has articles on reloading. It is called his Reloading Primer. I learned a lot and how to reload. Now I reload the following, .300 Win. magnum, 7.62x54R, 30-30, .308, 9mm Luger, .45 ACP, 8mm Mauser, .44 Magnum, 30-06, and 7.62x39mm. I have brass coming out my ears. I can't stop now. The best place to get your p[owder is The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juilet, TN. He is kind of high on his bullets. I get most of my bullets from Midsouth Shooters Supply in Clarksville, TN. They have a web site. It is www.midsouthshooterssupply.com. Have fun reloading! gearyr.
  20. I use Power Pistol. Really good powder. I have used it with Remington, Hornady, and Zero 115 grain bullets. I also have used Tite Group. But I prefer the Power Pistol powder. gearyr.
  21. Go to Academy Sports & Outdoors! I bought my Ruger P89 there in 2005. They had the best price of any one. When I have the extra money I will buy more handguns, rifles, and shotguns from them. They are always having a sell on their firearms. Ammo to. gearyr
  22. I didn't buy any loaded ammo. I went to The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet. I bought 6 packs of Win. sp primers and 500 Zero brand 9mm, 115 gr. FMJ. That was $70.00 and some cnange. I would have done better if I had went to Academy Sports and bought 10 boxes of the Monarch for $7.99 a box. But I have a ton of 9mm brass already preped and ready to load. I need to buy some 45 ACP 230 grain FMJ next. But the Zero 45 ACP that Reloaders Bench is $70.00+TN tax for 500 of them. I found a dist. that sells the Zero brand for 117.75 a 1000 and free shipping. So I better buy a 1000 before this place runs up the price. gearyr
  23. I was going to The Reloaders Bench to buy a DPMS lower. In Oct. they were $129.99. Now after the election they are $149.99+TN tax and the $10.00 instant5 check. With all of the combine, about $173.00 for a lower. Got one on order from a pawn shop in Symrna for $105.00. I lkie doing business with TRB, but the prices are a bit to much. But reloading supplies, he has great prices. gearyr.
  24. EMTRN, I do not have a carry permit yet. My son and his wife took there carry class at Guns & Leather in Greenbier, TN. So, I can sell him my CZ70 and he should not have any problem. Thanks, gearyr.
  25. I have a CZ70 semi-auto pistol that my son wants to buy. It is registered to me. If he bought this pistol from me, would it have to be resistered to him. In order to use it as one of his carry pistols? He just got his carry permit in the mail this past weekend. The carry class instructor told them that any handgun that you carry has to be registered tto you. Thanks, gearyr
