  1. What about the one that would allow you to have a handgun (if you have a HCP) locked up in your car/truck while on company property? The place I work at Bridgestone/Firestone Tire plant in Lavernge, TN. Signed posted No Firearms Allowed on Company Property. If they search your car/truck and find a firearm. Guees what? I get fired! So I leave it at home. Can't afford to lose my job. Been there 32 years. That is one law I really want to see change. I know that some states have a law that allows you to have it locked in your vehicle while on company property. Thanks, gearyr
  2. Lee is good for starting out with. Try e bay for reloading press, dies and things. I started out with the RCBS Partner kit in 2002. I have RCBS & Lee dies. It seems I use the Lee dies more that the RCBS. I have 9mm, .45ACP, .308, 8mm Mauser, 7.62x39, 300 Win. magnum, and 7.62x54R in RCBS. In the Lee I have .45 ACP, 44 magnum, 7.7 Jap, 30-30, 300 Win. magnum in the Lee. So I use them all. I have the RCBS hand held priming tool. The only shell holder that works with it is the RCBS shell holder. The Lee shell holder will not work in the RCBS priming tool. Good luck finding any reloading components. Brass you can find. Bullets, powder and primers are very hard to find. Primers are really hard to find. I get my primers & powder at The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet, TN. I called about a week ago, no primers except for CCI large rifles magnum primers. I need some, but not at $40.00 a thousand! Try www.gunbroker.com for reloading supplies. I hope this helps you out, gearyr
  3. I have the same problem when I go to Academy in Madison, TN. I went down there last month. Was wanting to buy the new Winchester PDX1 ammo in 9mm & 45 ACP. My son sold me 2 boxes of the Win. PDX1 .45 ACP back several weeks before I went to Academy last month. He said the price was $21.99 a box + tax. These 2 bozo's behind the counter told me they were $41.99 a box. I told them that my son bought some there at $21.99. They got pissed at me when I kept telling them my son bought the 45's for $21.99 a box. They were getting abusive toward me. I told them never mind. Went to the register and paid for the 2 boxes of 9mm. Now I wish I had talked to the manager about those 2 bozo's. When I got home I called Academy at Cool Springs. Guess what the price was on the .45's there? $21.99 a box! those bozo's had the Win. .45"s in the wrong place. Don't get me wrong, I really like Academy Sports. They have a great selection of handguns, rifles, and ammo. I will go there before I will every go back to Bass Pro. Bass Pro thinks alot of their stuff. WAY TO HIGH AT BASS PRO! gearyr
  4. I just got my HCP in Jan. 2009. I know it is good for 4 years. What is involved in getting it renewed? Can you go the the drivers license center to renew? Or do you have to mail it in? I thought I read some where that you have send in a certified copy of your birth cert. So what are the details on renewing? Thanks, gearyr
  5. I am using the new Winchester PDX1 HP. In 9mm and .45 ACP. The 9mm is 124 grain +P. The .45 ACP is a 230 grain HP. 20 to a box. I bought 2 boxes of each. I haven't shot any of it. Bought it to use in my Ruger P89 & P90 for carry defense. I have my HCP. gearyr

    CZ 52 or TT-33?

I used to have a CZ 52. Sold it. Man I wish I had it back. I bought the CZ52 when I had a C&R license years ago. I sold it to a friend. I tried to buy it back from him about a year ago. He sold it to some one else. I asked the guy if he wanted to sell it. No was all I got. It is big and powerful. I miss that pistol. gearyr
  7. Have you tried Gander Mountain in Bowling Green, KY? The last time is was there they had all kinds of primers. But the price was $40.00 a 1000+sales tax. That is why I didn't buy any. Now wish I had. gearyr
  8. If you really want a great lever rifle. The Marlin 336 is the best of the rest! I have a Marlin 30AW, same as the 336. Different wood. I bought mine at Wal Mart back in 1988. It still looks new. Have shot a lot of ammo through it. I reload for it too. Marlin 336 is easy to mount a scope on to. gearyr
  9. I stopped in this past Sat. Talk about sticker shock! Romanian 700rd tins for 200? Way out of my price range. I guess I will keep looking to find a place that is a lot lower on their price than this place. Sorry if this makes the people that own or work there mad. But there are a lot of us out here that don't have that kind of money. I like my SKS rifle, but the ammo prices have gotten way out of hand. gearyr
  10. I am using the new Winchester PDX1. 124 grain +P in 9mm. The .45 ACP 230 grain HP. I bought 2 boxes of each. Need to go get some more. gearyr

  13. I have been using Winchester small pistol primers in loading 9mm. Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet, TN didn't have any Win. So I bought Federal SP primers. I am using a 115 grain FMJ, with 6.0 grains of Power Pistol, and col at 1.120. Thisa the load with the Win. SP primers. The Hornady 6th Edition has the max load at 6.7 grains of PP. I have used CCI and Win. primeres with no problem. I also, picked up 1000 CCI LR primeres while I was there. Thanks, gearyr
  14. I need a 3xl too. My wifes cooking is so good! gearyr
  15. Congrats! I am a GGC member. Been member for 17 years. I love the place. I only go out there during the week. On the weekends, forget about it. Me and my son have tried to go out there on a Sat. years a go. Couldn't get a spot. I am lucky. I have days off on Mon. & Tues. Then days off the next week on Wed. & Thur. I lve out in Castalian Springs, TN. Just 5 miles out Gallatin. So I can get there in about 10 minutes. So welcome to The Gallatin Gun Club. gearyr.
  16. I am so glad that I reload all of my .45 ACP. I really haven't had a problem getting primers, powder, or bullets for .45 ACP. I have a lot of 230 grain HP I loaded up several years ago. It is all kept in my closet were I keep my guns in a safe. I also loaded up at least 300 rounds of Hornady 185 grain XTP. That is my carry rounds, the Hornady 185 grain XTP's. I'm like all of you guys. I can't find any Federal Hydra Shok or any Winchester SXT in .45 ACP. I am using Winchester 147 grain SXT in my Ruger P89. Wish I could find 2 more boxes of that. No luck. gearyr

  19. GLOCKMEISTER, what is your policy on people coming into your store that have a valid HCP? Just wondering. I live outside of Gallatin, TN. Would like to come in there the next time I am in the area. Do you have any of the Winchester SXT in 147 grain 9mm? Been looking for at least 2 more boxes. I have one now. Thank you, gearyr
  20. Any chance that happening here in TN? I have a HCP. I work at the Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Plant in Lavergne, TN. The company has sign up saying no firearms allowed on company property. I leave the house at 4:00 AM drive to work. It is a 84 mile round trip from outside Gallatin, TN to LaVergne, TN. You never know what kind of crazies you might have dealings with. I would love to see the law changed that as long I as I keep my handgun locked in my truck. I can have it on the company parking lot. Has any body contacted their legislatures about this? gearyr

  22. 56FordGuy, have you been to The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet, TN? They sell reloading supplies. They are high on bullets. But primers and gun powder are priced right. Also try Midsouth Shooters Supply. They are in Clarksvill. I buy all of my reloading rifle bullets from them. gearyr
  23. I haven't been to a any gun shows in years. I got my HCP now. What are the rules about carring at a gun show? I e mailed Bill Goodman about this. No reply. I would like to carry at the next Goodman show. So I can get a proper holster for my Ruger P90. The holster I have now is a Ace fabric one with the mag pouch on it. Thanks, gearyr.
