    USS HUE CITY

Great pics. My dad did 20 years in the Navy, retiring in 1974, and most of his sea duty tours were on carriers. These shots bring back lots of memories. Thanks for posting them.

    my EBR'S

Nice collection. I'm more than a little jealous!

    ooh pwetty....

It's great to start them out early. I bet the two of you will have a blast shooting together in the years to come! Way to go.
  5. I think these Savage 24's are just way too cool. I bought one a week ago at a pawn shop. The metal looks pretty good, but the stock was scratched up quite a bit. So I'm getting ready to strip the wood down and refinish it. It is a Savage 24 series M: 22LR/20
  6. Welcome to the forum Bart. Lot's of good information here and lots of good folks to learn from.
  7. You definitely hit the jackpot. I quite often see things listed on TGO that I would be very interested in, if they were local. But it seems like they are always at the other end of the state. Great collection.
  8. I think you did a great job, especially for your first one. Sounds like a good project for winter time.
  9. Poplar Tree Lake in Meeman Shelby Forrest is a nice lake to fish. I haven't fished out there in several years, but there used to be some really nice bream/shellcrackers in that lake, as well as plenty of bass and catfish. Here's a link if you want more information. 10. Those are great trailers. What year is it?

    Colt

    Sweet. Congratulations.
  12. Depending on where in the Memphis area you're located, several of the pawn shops that are FFL's will handle transfers for $25 + $10 for the background check. I've used AA Pawn in the Raleigh area just recently, 2830 Austin Peay Hwy (372-8051) and they were very good to deal with. Several others have told me they would handle it for $35, but I haven't used them. If you check around you can definitely do better than $50. Good luck.
  13. I've got a conversion kit for my Glock 26 and it works great for its intended purpose. But a dedicated 22 can be really handy. I have an older Ruger MKII with a red dot scope on it, and it is a blast to shoot. Good luck whatever you decide.
  14. Welcome to TGO. Definitely lots of good information here, and an occasional laugh or two.
  15. I've seen those around and always wondered about them. Thanks for the range report.

    Blue & Wood

Beautiful, just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
  17. I have a 93 F150, and about 2 winters ago I couldn't get hardly any heat at all in the cab. I thought it was going to be a major deal, but a friend who is a mechanic and I started checking, and when we pulled the thermostat it fell apart in our hands. Once we replaced it I had plenty of heat. You've probably already checked the thermostat, but if not, it might be worth a look. I always try to check the easiest possibilities first. Good luck.
  18. Looks like the perfect place for one of my favorite quotes, supposedly from John Wayne, although I can't confirm that. "Life is hard, it's harder if you're stupid!"
  19. Great story. I've seen it once before but had forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me.
  20. I've been debating over a couple of different IWB holsters for a glock, but those pics may have just made up my mind. That looks great. I couldn't tell for sure from the pics, which clips are you using?

Those grips look awesome. Do they change the way it feels while shooting?

    Photos

Great photos. I live in West TN, but used to travel over middle and east TN for work. If I ever leave here, it will be to head east. Beautiful Country. What kind of camera are you using for these? Thanks for sharing.
  23. Very nice. I don't think I've ever seen one of those. Definitely plan on a range report when you get time.

    Rhea County

Those were gorgeous. Great examples of outdoor photography. I showed them to my wife and now she wants to plan a trip. But that's a pretty good distance from West TN. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
  25. Well I can't wait for the rainbow range report the first time you take that out to shoot it.
