1. Very cool.
2. Thanks.  I just ordered a couple, and downloaded the PDF files.
3. Around here it seems like the yard sales mostly have clothes, toys, old kitchen appliances and broken furniture. The best find I ever had was an unused 5 foot wooden oar, about 15 years ago.
4. A few years ago somebody broke into our shed and stole all of our lawn equipment.  The deputy that came out said that there was a rash of thefts of lawn equipment and trailers around here (West TN) at the time.  I'm with you, I keep my stuff locked up as best I can, even though I live out in the county.
5. Sorry to hear about your loss.  You definitely have our condolances.  About 7 years ago we lost our 14 year old chocolate lab.  We still have pictures of him up around the house. The 2 rescue dogs we have now are great additions to our family, but they will never replace him in our hearts.
6. Great reminder.  It's so easy to get complacent after a period of time. I'm a big fan of trying to learn from other folks, instead of always from my own mistakes. Thanks for the reminder. Glad it turned out ok and everybody was safe.
7. This has been the most entertaining new member thread I've read in quite awhile.   Congrats and Welcome to TGO!
8. I started building a "Get Home Bag" awhile back, but never finished it.  The pack is still in the closet and some of the stuff is scattered around the house in different places.  The things going on around us have convinced me that I'm crazy not to complete the bag and put it in the truck.  This thread has some great ideas that will help.  Keep them coming! Thanks.
9. There is one in Memphis this weekend that I was planning to go to, right up until last week. I decided it would probably be worse than going to the mall today so I passed. I wasn't in the mood to fight the crowds to not be able to get close enough to look at things I didn't need anyway, that were priced way more than was reasonable!
10. Most of those companies offer some type of "sample pack" with a couple of meals for a nominal cost. My only suggestion is to be sure and try a meal or two before you order a large stash.  Some of the ones we've tried were way too salty for our taste. Your taste buds might be different!
11. I bet he said something like "Hey Bubba, watch this!" just before he jumped out of the cab.
12. DaveS - that was great, made my morning! Thanks for sharing the review and the pics. I'm glad Buster is ok - he's definitely a good sport to put up with that kind of abuse. LOL.
13. We picked up some small packs of the items we didn't have. I may try making a pot over the weekend. It sounds like it might be a good base option anyway.

Congratulations. I bet she'll grow up to be a wonderful companion, but definitely be watchful the first 2 years. We had a chocolate lab (male) for almost 14 years that we lost about 6 years ago. He became the best dog we've ever had, but man the first 18 months to 2 years were tough! He chewed up 3 dryer vents, part of a picnic table, several fence posts, untold numbers of stuffed animals, and even a few bricks out of the flower bed. And until the day he died, you better not leave a paper towel or a glove or sock where he could see it or it would "disappear". Be sure and post a few pictures along as she grows up!
15. I've always wondered how knife makers did that. I can't wait to see the rest of the steps. Thanks for sharing.
16. Yep. The late night talk shows would have plenty of material that's for sure!
Biden as POTUS would never be dull. He deserves all the put downs he gets but he is an interesting and free speaker. He'd have a lot of entertainment value.
17. Always difficult. Prayers said for you and Dana.
18. Congratulations! That is a huge accomplishments. And thank you for your continued service!
19. Candy corn and cashews is a great mix great!
20. Prayers sent for both your wife, and for you Robin.
21. I agree with those above who recommended a pastor and a church. It is pretty incredible to watch a loving church family rally around and support someone going through difficult times. Thoughts and prayers for you and your girl friend.
22. Amen! Very wise words indeed. Sometimes the most valuable lessons are the ones that are the most difficult to learn.
23. What an awesome story. I suspect she is going to grow up to be a very special, self reliant young lady! Good for you. Now how old is Rebecca?
24. What a great story. My dad retired as a CPO in 1974 after 20 years. I still remember when he made Chief. This brings back some memories. Thanks for sharing.
25. Congratulations to BOTH of you, and good wishes for many, many more!
