    Pawn Shops

plus one on this. i have never found any deal in a pawn shop for anything.
  2. downtown lawrenceville ga on i85 north has a good gun store. lots of stock. lots of things to see. don't remember the name, but it is downtown one the one way street.
  3. went in the store several months ago. prices were high on guns and the pawn shop items. was hoping the prices were in line with other tri-county area stores, but it does not sound like it is. might stop by this week to look.
  4. beretta 21 is the way to go. put many round down range in my and it has not given me any problems. now it is a small pocket gun. not much for a range can gun. there are others that do that job better.

    polish p64

got one several mango season ago. great guns. hot little guns. hard as nails. get some extry mags with it. the mags are/were hard to find. the gun is the same a the ppk. i never had any problems with it. ammo is pricey, like 380 acp ammo.
  6. at this time all ammo is big $$$$. the election has put the ammo prices sky high. even the 22lr ammo has gone up.
  7. i have seen 380 ammo priced the same as 38sp ammo. but you are correct it is high.
  8. i carry a old model 60 as my "bug" on the job.
  9. nice, you will love it. back in 1973 i pickup a model 19 from a local hardware store. i have shot the mess out of it. never had any problems with it. keeps on going. the more you shoot it the better it gets.
  10. reloading is very addictive,,i know i have been doing it since 1970, i even reload the 25 acp. i started with a texas star single stage press. still got it. now i use two single stage presses and a dillion 550 that i got in 1980. take your time when you work up yours loads. read all you can about the load you are trying to work up. get some old reloading books, the ones from the 70's and 80's. they have some of the best load data around. if you have some mad money i would get a chronograph to check the loads. i have spend many hours chronographing loads and grouping loads. i would also look around for used reloading equipment, i use to buy all i could find. got dies for cals that i don't load for. have fun and be safe when reloading. also, after smometime you might get into casting bullets.
  11. you can go to the 40 cal easy. all you need will be a 40 cal barrel. the 357sig mags and slide will work. so a barrel change is all you need to go to 40 cal. now for 9mm you will need a 9mm slide, barrel, and mags.
  12. back many mango season ago the best deer guns were in 30-30, 35 remington, 30-06, and 12 ga shotgun. now things are different, it is hard to say. but a long time a go the 30-30, 35 rem and 30-06 were kings in the deer hunting business. 12 ga shotgun was the poor mans deer gun.
  13. for IDPA comps i would not use a glock 26. the smallest i would use is the glock 17 with many changes to the gun. you might be able to use a glock 19, it depends on how well you shoot. the big problem is a IDPA gun does not make a good carry gun and a carry gun does not make a good match gun. now i am not saying that you can not shoot a match with your carry gun,, you can but you will be at the bottom when the match is over. the problem with pistols matches you will get up in the biggest $$$ gun is the best gun for the match and normal standard guns will not cut it.
  14. Idiot. I shoot on my farm any time I want. If I want friends to come over to shoot on my farm then I see it is no business of the local government.
  15. it is going to be this way for sometime. went by the sportman's warehouse to pickup some reloading items. all out in what i was looking for. no #5 powder, no cast bullets in stock, some primer in stock. only had four or five cans of powder. no ammo, just shotgun ammo, bird shot. pistol wall was low on guns. they had lots of shotguns and rilfes. works had no answers for low inventory.
  16. New guy here from Chattanooga. Great site with lots of good information. I have been reloading since 1970 and a back yard gun smith too. Shot many pistol and rifle matches in the 80's, but now shooting is weekend fun with the family. Frank
