  1. T. Rex Arms is a solid source of information more geared to civilian training/tactical applications when it comes to optics.
  2. Thanks MacGyver-didn't realize the tolerances were that tight! I took it to Knives N' More in Huntsville, AL and showed the owner the knife. He said "What the Heck?" as the knife failed to close fully immediately, and then offered to took a look at it and disassembled the Infidel. Turns out rails that hold the knife inside the handle had screws so loose they were out, so he put locktite on them and tightened them and said to let it set overnight. The owner thought it might have been the machine that puts locktite on the screws ran dry as he didn't think anyone assembling the knife would have just not put locktite on as he didn't see any placed by the factory. Great customer service, I will let you guys know how it works after tomorrow morning when the locktite sets.
  3. I bought a new Benchmade Infidel and I have had problems getting the knife to consistently close. The blade likes to stick out 1/2 inch and then it has to be manually pulled back out and reset. It hasn't failed to open fully however. Has anyone had similar issues or know how to fix it? I am going to take it to the Authorized dealer I bought it from later this week and see what they can do about it. UPDATE: After the guy at Knives N' More in Huntsville, AL took it apart and locktited the screws and I let it cure overnight, I have had zero issues. The blade has no play, and my infidel now shoots in and out strong. I highly recommend you check them out if you are looking for a good price on a great knife:)
  4. I owned a Maverick 88(not Security) with the Top folding stock. The edges on the cheekweld area of that particular stock were quite sharp and cut my cheek when firing so I ended up selling it. Cool concept though if you can't store a fixed stock but I would recommend a different folding stock.
  5. That is Gorgeous!
  6. Very nice!! Let me know how you like it!:)
  7. Another option is simply for your mother/father to buy the handgun you desire from a private sale and gift it to you. No FFL's to worry about. Or you could do what I did when I was your age, and just state your age upfront in your want to buy ad when buying so only people who are comfortable with selling to a 18-20 year old sell to you if you would like to buy it yourself. Or wait 1-11 months to turn 21:)
  8. Right on, you need to be 18 years old to possess and to buy private sale(if you are buying from a FFL, federal law supersedes state law since you are buying from a federally licensed dealer-in that case, you need to be 21 years old.) Under Tennessee State Law, you can keep a loaded handgun in your car at 18. I was actually pulled over when I was 18/19 and this law was pretty new(I am 24 year old now) as I accidently pulled out in front a police cruiser. I simply told the officer my age, and he told me I was perfectly legal to possess a loaded handgun in my car at that age.
  9. I have carried a loaded handgun in my car every since I was 18(which I also purchased private sale). I was even pulled over once when I was 18 in TN for accidently pulling out in front of a police cruiser, and I politely told the man my age and the fact I had a loaded handgun in my car, and he told he that was perfectly legal and within my rights at that age. Hope this helps!
  10. The laws have always been a bit confusing, but as the other posters have stated, you have to be 21+ to buy from an FFL, and 18+ to buy private sale. I am a Christian, so following the law is extremely important to me which is why I searched extensively to find out if I could buy a handgun at 18 or not after seeing that anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from hunting with a handgun posted in TWRA's hunting guide magazine. The TN department of homeland security also has a exception to the carry age of 21 for 18+'s who are active duty military/honorable discharged personnel. I bought my first handgun at 18, and I've since owned nearly a dozen handguns bought through private sale, and spoken to numerous police officers, including one that pulled me over since I accidently pulled out in front of him(low blood sugar!) and he said I was completely cool to keep a handgun in my car. While I will be turning 21 April 6th, I am a strong supporter of the right for this age group to be able to purchase handguns private sale, and wish that both more people were aware of the laws and that this group could buy from FFLs.
