You've read all 5 books?!? I bow in your general direction...sir.

It took a minute.  I’m not the reader my dad was.  He read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich in three or four days and Shogun in less.

It added nothing to the shows ongoing story line. Just Hollywood pushing their agenda. 🙄

And that is why I tapped out.  Seems to be a trend in shows made in the last 2-3 years and I’m sick of it.

  3. I rarely buy factory ammo, but the price of decent 9mm ball ammo in retail stores seems to have settled around $.40/shot.  If I needed it and found decent, semi-reputable 9mm ammo in stock for .25-.27 at Lucky Gunner or SG, I would jump all over it, assuming they aren't raping you on shipping.

Reports are that this new "object" was about the size of a car, appeared to be un-maned and was at 40,000 feet. At that height it could pose a danger to other aircraft. Because of that and the fact that they had no idea what it was, they shot it down.

I think China is playing dangerous games. 🤬

In light of America's recent behavior and actions, The Chinese probably don't feel that their games are particularly dangerous, other than maybe prompting the administration to write some more strongly worded letters.

Thanks. So you can’t use it in competition

You could shoot it in USPSA Limited division. but it's currently offered only in 9mm, which is a significant scoring handicap vs .40 guns in Limited.  Single actions aren't allowed in USPSA Carry Optics division.  It's too heavy for IDPA without seriously milling the slide to make weight.  Other shooting games, I have no idea.

What was the price on. DWX. How did it look quality wise. The LGS in my area don’t have any

    $2099

It looked like a high quality gun.  It doesn't fit anywhere in the competitive world (the first place my brain goes), but man I liked that gun.

Most places in my area do the 4473 on a computer.I can’t remember the last time I filled one out on paper.

Still some paper 4473s around here.

One LGS has a DWX.  I was impressed, but didn't take it home.

Agreed. I've not even completed the last seasons of Yellowstone. My wife loves it though, so I have to listen as she watches.

As far as GOT, can't tell you how many times we've watched it. Wife thinks it's the best ever.

House of Dragons is interesting to me. Hasn't gotten to the level of GOT, but is very good. Matt Smith is great in it. Hatted his stint as the Doctor. Strange.

I'm tired of Beth Dutton and all the memes saying Rip is a real man because he supports his woman no matter what.  If Rip were real and had a two digit IQ, he would drop that unstable b*tch like a bad habit.

I didn't even start GOT until after it had ended.  It just seemed too Dungeons-and-Dragonsish to me.  I finally watched the first season and was surprised.  I then decided to read the books to figure out exactly who was who.  Ha!  And I thought the show had a lot going on.  After reading all five books, I went back to the show and loved it.

I once heard someone ask, "What fictional character would you like to have dinner with?"  No brainer - Tyrion Lannister.

I think The Wire (series) is available on HBO Max.

I watched a few years back...I think, on Netflix. Really liked it.

Crime drama, good characters and story line IMHO.

Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery.

Thanks.  PT starts in 15 days.

If you're on Oxy, that would be a great time to watch the Pharmacist. 🙂

My surgery was Tuesday (rotator cuff/labrum) and I took my last Oxy Thursday night.  I was still having some pain, but I didn't like the weird feeling in my eyes, I was feeling itchy, and I was tired of the worms.  I have no idea how people get addicted to that stuff, but everybody is different.  Give three guys tequila and one is sleepy, one has the happiest day of his life, and the third wants to fight Hulk Hogan.

I think we watched the first two episodes the night of my surgery and I should probably re-watch them.  I started the Oxycodone that night and kept dreaming about worms.  Not sure if it was the show or the Oxy lol.

It did jump the shark a bit toward the end, but I really enjoyed it. My wife did as well.

I can think of several shows that were pretty good for three seasons or so, and then lost something and became ridiculous.  I'm in the minority, but I think Yellowstone has run its course.  Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones were (IMO) exceptions.

HBO max has a great new show I think you will like called The Last of US. Another popular show on there is White Lotus. The Menu is a good but strange movie you might like.

Netflix- Bullet Train. Action movie with Brad Pitt. if you don't mind voiceover, Snow Girl was good. So is Kleo.

    Great documentary-The Pharmacist

The Sinner and Mindhunter are two more good series.

I've seen the first two episodes of The Last of Us and liked it.  I can't watch the third one without my wife lol.

I watched three of the four? seasons of The Sinner.  Offbeat, but interesting.  Bill Pullman has come a long way since Independence Day.

    Ever watch the Longmire series?

I have not, but people have suggested it in the past.  I prefer a TV series that is more or less one gigantic movie split into episodes and seasons (like say Breaking Bad), as opposed to shows that have nothing to do with last week's episode.  Where does Longmire fall?

  15. At home recovering from surgery and looking for something to watch.  I'm not a big TV person, but have access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO Max (my wife likes TV).  I can't find much that looks interesting.  Half of them are about cheesy CIA plots that would probably make real CIA types roll their eyes.  I'm a competitive shooter and quickly get irritated with shows that depict improbable shots by people with teacup grips or people constantly racking slides.

Any suggestions or is just about everything dumb?

Yep. If he had shot it down over land and it destroyed a house or business he would be getting crucified for that too. The debris field is covering 7 miles of ocean. There were not a lot of good options.

Canada also chose to let it pass through their airspace.

Supposedly it was discovered over Alaska, which is 2.5x the size of Texas and has a smaller population than Shelby County.  I'll bet a suitable area to shoot it down over Alaska could have been quickly identified.  Biden claims he wasn't notified about the balloon until several days later and wanted it shot down immediately, but was apparently vetoed.  Assuming he is telling the truth and assuming he is actually in charge, Biden should have some DoD heads on a platter.

China made the US look like incompetent idiots, and they are probably not finished.
