Wow! Are those good eatin' ?

You do not need TSA approved locks on anything. You will need a lock (of your choice) on the gun case.

Welcome, Jim! Hope you get your arsenal rebuilt! Meanwhile, the airgun solution sounds like a winner. I might just get mine out. The skills, other than dealing with recoil, are pretty much the same, and the neighbors sure don't care about a whoooof.

Thanks for that, A.J. I'm fighting my way through Mere Christianity right now. The Problem of Pain will be next, followed by Screwtape.
C.S. had a brilliant mind.

Many things are not at the discretion of the officer but im not gonna get myself in a world of headache or worse because "I have the letter of the law on my side". I actively avoid conflict with LEO's whenever possible because I have a couple friends that are cops and their job is already hard enough but to each their own.
Can't imagine why you think this is a fine point of "the letter of the law" or why you'd fear conflict with LEOs about this.

I get where your coming from....a bit of advice...if you don't have an HCP...don't carry a gun in the car...explaining to the cop that pulls you over for whatever (I remember being in my early 20's) that you have a gun due to castle law...well that wont end well for you ...maybe you'll win in court but do you really want that hassle. I too prefer a handgun over not having one but until you have an HCP I would strongly strongly recommend you just carry bear mace or something similar in your car...that Kimber pepper ball gun is a good choice...gives you a little distance and less likely to rupture from heat in the glovebox....just my $.02
This is not at the discretion of the LEO. Without getting into the the 18-21 thing, it's been legal in TN since July 2014 for all lawful gun owners to have loaded handguns, rifles, or shotguns in their vehicles (but not on their person, unless they have an HCP, obviously for handguns only.)

Well, you guys inspired me to look through the boxes from our move from ILLannoy in October, and I finally found my hummingbird feeder! Never saw a bird at it in 3 years in ILLannoy. Maybe, like smart people, they decided to get the hell out of that horrible state.........I'll let you know if any show up here.

Praying for you mom and your family.

Check out Maryville. It's south of Knoxville. Best place we've ever lived. Even better than ILLannoy!

I think the poll is flawed, in that guys who have hog hunted are much more likely to answer Yes than everybody else is likely to answer No.
I seriously doubt if the majority of folks on this forum have hog hunted.
But I do like the discussion and the stories, so thanks for bringing it up.

Yeah, it's a fine gun, I have a couple, but why do high mileage on a tricycle?

You are probably an oddball, because I have a Glock 30 and a Glock 21, the compact and full versions of .45ACP.
Sorry!

Be on the lookout for any delayed injuries. Sometimes they can take a long time to show up. Good so far though! Wow.

I'd say around 800 max as well. If 1918 original, 1500-3000 depending on some fine nuances of condition.

Welcome, you look like a great fit for this group! Looking forward to your participation.

Heading back to Texas in a couple of weeks for a hog eradication. Planning on taking 250 rounds. I'm one night hunting gun down due to the ATF not running forms during the shutdown, but it should be fun.
Need any help? Always willing to be of eradication service!

Thanks for adding me to the group. I'm relatively new to TN; I retired here to Wayne County almost a year ago. I'm retired from the Air Force since '93, and more recently from a position with a defense contractor company.
Welcome aboard, and thanks for your service! I'm new to TN and really happy about moving here. You will be too!

Hope this was not one of our members. So I stop by the Publix on Hwy 100 in Bellevue and the police are there filling out some paperwork. I casually mill around and eavesdrop on what is going on. Turns out that some guy left a gun in the sink in the handicap stall in the bathroom. One of the workers found it and turned it in to management who called the police.
I am guessing the dude upholstered when he sat down to do his business and just forgot it. Not sure how you forget your gun. Makes all hip holders look bad when one of us does something like this. I am just glad a kid didn't find it.
So just remember, if nature calls when you are out in public, DO NOT FORGET YOUR GUN!
I don't know, does it really make us all look bad? If a teacher does something bad, does it make them all look bad? Or a cop, same question? Sometimes I think we're too hard on ourselves when we ascribe something bad or stupid to us as a whole group. I'm not sure the rest of the public does that against us......but, I'm not sure.

Welcome, Hamshog. We moved here from ILLannoy in October, and love Tennessee. Sure you will too. The people are the nicest anywhere, and they think right. Shoulda done it years ago.

I am praying for you. And thank you for all you've shared in this thread. Also, that video about Mt. Sinai being in Saudi Arabia is fascinating.
