  1. Heading that way this evening....can anyone tell me what the traffic around Manchester (Bonnaroo) is like?   I'm in Chattanooga....Should I go I24 or go to Cookeville and take I40?
  2. KNOXVILLE TN Get ready for the first Suarez Regional Training group meeting held there!!!! On Aug 3 Suarez International Tier 1 Staff Instructor Randy Harris will be in Knoxville Tn leading a regional training group and working on close quarters shooting and Alternative Indexing Methods- making fight stopping hits without a picture perfect sight picture. At less than 4 yards a picture perfect sight picture is not needed to make hits and in a truly dynamic reactive situation (when the bad guys start the fight) you will likely not be able to find the sights in time to react appropriately. In this close up reactive situation Alternative Indexing Methods can save the day! Hope to see you there!  DATE: AUG 3 Time: 9 AM to 3PM  SUBJECT: Alternative Indexing Methods in close quarter shooting. Price $80 Pay at class (cash or check) Equipment needed: Pistol and 3 magazines (or speedloaders if you roll with a wheel gun). Holster, mag pouch.  Ammo needed: AT LEAST 200 rounds...more will allow you to shoot more.  Location: 1818 Tarklin Valley Rd Knoxville Tn 37920
  3. Well there probably will be NOW...
  4. Welcome aboard! Maybe I'll see you in class sometime.
  5. Is there an actual street address for GPS purposes?
  6. Mailed off form 4 for suppressor in late July last year, was approved mid May of this year.
  7. ONE WEEK TO GO! Hope to see some TGO members there!
  8. REMEMBER....THIS IS TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Looking forward to seeing some TGO members in attendance!
  9. OK guys and gals...we are about 2 weeks out on this class.   As I mentioned above, it will change the way you view pistol training. Standing still and using the sights works well when you are behind cover and have the initiative....but when the range is close (less than 7 yards) the bad guy gets to start the fight (as they normally do) then standing still and looking for the sights is a good way to get shot, stabbed or beaten. This class is not about SHOOTING a pistol it is about FIGHTING with a pistol and getting the pistol into the fight. Hope to see you there!
  10. Hopefully you can catch the next one.....
  11. Mine is in the mail today....
  12. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind words and having you guys in class enhanced the experience for the other students for sure. Looking forward to seeing you guys again!
  13. Whatever you want to bring. However you want to carry it.
  14. Bring them. The more the merrier.
  15. You are supposed to have had a Suarez class previously......but we can work around that as long as you are solid with fundamental safe gun handling. The Regional Training Group Days are for "alumni" to come work on skills they learned in class....but if more people can see what we do then more people will sign up for classes so I'm open to folks coming who might not have had a class with us before.   Come on out. Looking forward to seeing you there!
  16. SUAREZ INT TN GA AL Regional Training group  Date: Saturday May 31  Time: 10AM to 4PM CENTRAL TIME. Price : $60 Pay at class cash preferred. Subject: Real World Rifle Skills (a study in robust manipulations and scoring fight stopping hits under stress)  Equipment needed: A rifle. Any rifle is fine, but you'll be better off with a magazine fed semi auto with a couple of spare mags. But if you want to roll "Old School" with a lever gun or bolt gun you are welcome to join us. We'll be focusing on the zero to 50 yard distance and using steel targets for some drills so no green tip or AP ammo.  A pistol. Whatever you REALLY carry....preferably the way you really carry it.  Ammo needed: 200 rds rifle (NO Green Tip or Armor Piercing ) 50 rds pistol Location: The usual place .....763 CR 322 Pisgah AL 35765      If you need directions PM me and I'll get them for you.
  17. Just a couple of weeks to go on this one.  This class is different than anything in the industry. No one else runs their med class in conjunction with FOF where you have to win the fight and then treat the injuries you sustain in the fight. Come be a part of this and be that much more prepared for surviving real world confrontations !
  18. Just to echo what others have already said....GSSF matches are great ways to dip your toe in the competitive shooting waters. ALL you need is gun and ammo. No drawing from holster, no complex stages, no shooting on the move. Just come out and shoot and have fun.
  19. Hope you can make it. It will change the way you look at pistol training.
  20. Thanks guys. I enjoyed teaching both classes and hopefully we will be doing some more classes soon in Knoxville.   We had talked about offering a "Suarez Regional Training Day" in August if there is interest in that . Those are typically a 6 hour block of working on specific skills with a price range of normally $60 to $80. If there is enough interest we may go ahead and schedule it for Aug 3 since I'll already be in the area for the ORSA SECRET CITY IDPA match on Aug 2.
  21. Me...but you already knew that.
  22. Looking forward to it again!
  23. A little over a month to go on this one.  This class will take your personal protection skills to the next level.   Most pistol gunfights are less than 7 yards. Yet most people practice for them by trying to shoot tiny groups at distances 7 yards and farther. That is like practicing to run a race by standing still....instead of trying to shoot tiny groups at distance maybe we should spend more time working on recognizing the cues of impending criminal assault, reacting to it before it is too late, using our hands if we need to in order to create an opening,  getting our gun into the fight (practicing drawing your gun), and making fast accurate fight stopping hits while NOT GETTING HIT, and keeping our gun running if it malfunctions or runs out of ammo. THAT is what we will work on in this class. If you want to learn what really works and what to practice to prepare you for defensive shooting this is the class for you.
  24. This one is coming up in about 4 weeks.....Don't miss this opportunity to learn life saving skills. Winning the fight is just part of the equation. There are no guarantees that you or one of your loved ones won't be injured in the fight. Knowing how to keep them alive is something to learn in advance...not try to figure out in the moment.....   Hope to see you there.
