It was an awesome match.....unfortunately my performance was awesomely BAD.....but tomorrow is another day. Very challenging stuff with "no shoot" swingers in front of "drop turners" and "shoot swingers" behind "no shoots" around left handed cover....really devious stuff you don't see much at other matches and lots of tight shots that make you slow down....or not...... and if not you hit the "no shoots". Note to self....slow down and stop mowing down the "no shoots"..... Great match Hognut...I'll be back for the Music City Cup to get my revenge.... :pleased: -

I was apparently in a temporary time warp when I posted that earlier... yes , they changed it and it is now a B29 instead of the barn door sized B27. Smaller target but closer overall course of fire. You essentially have about an 8" wide and 10" high area to hit to have a perfect score. So basically....if you can hit a pie plate at 7 yards 10 times in a row you are going to probably get 100%. The 20 rounds at 3 yards and 20 at 5 should be easily attainable by most folks if they pay any attention at all to the marksmanship portion of the lecture. I ran a class today and the lowest score was a 97. NONE of the people in class were serious handgun shooters. But then again I also didn't have any grandmas with J frames either. Nothing against grandmas or J frames it is just that I am perplexed at why people continue to recommend 1 pound guns with 15 poind trigger pulls as a defensive gun to elderly women with arthritis......sorry...just one of my pet peeves. -

ANNOUNCEMENT: One other piece of gear to bring is a 3 pack of large WHITE t-shirts. You can get them at Walmart for a few dollars or at a thrift shop for a few cents. I will be using Tac Man realistic plastic human shaped targets and in order to know from one shooter to the next where the particular shooter was hitting we will change t shirts out when they get too shot up. Three t shirts per person should be enough. WHITE is the color you need. Stay tuned for more updates. -

Just make sure there are no "speed reloads"..... and make sure that nothing is written so that a target can be "Blown up" and kill a "no shoot" and yet still be a "failure to neutralize" the target that was "blown up"..... -

AK and Vehicle 1 day classes Chattanooga area
Cruel Hand Luke replied to Cruel Hand Luke's topic in Training Discussions
I'll get them to change that ....I didn't notice that in the listing... The AK class is ONE day. The Vehicle class is ONE day. Or you can take BOTH days at the discounted rate of $350. They apparently got it right on the vehicle class listing but the "2 days" on AK class is a typo. -

They generally use a B27 target and you have to get 33 hits on paper (out of 48). Any hit anywhere on the body counts. -

Suarez International TN/GA/AL Regional Training Group August 10 !!!!!!!!!!!! DUE TO OVERWHELMING EARLY RESPONSE TO THE KNOXVILLE TRAINING DAY I WILL BE COVERING THE SAME MATERIAL IN THE CHATTANOOGA AREA THE NEXT WEEKEND. So if you cannot make it to Knoxville you can catch us the next weekend SW of CHattanooga......(or if you want to do both we'd love to have you come out both times! On Aug 10 Suarez International Tier 1 Staff Instructor Randy Harris will be in the Chattanooga area leading a regional training group and working on close quarters shooting and Alternative Indexing Methods- making fight stopping hits without a picture perfect sight picture. At less than 4 yards a picture perfect sight picture is not needed to make hits and in a truly dynamic reactive situation (when the bad guys start the fight) you will likely not be able to find the sights in time to react appropriately. In this close up reactive situation Alternative Indexing Methods can save the day! Hope to see you there! DATE: AUG 10 Time: 9 AM to 3PM Central Time SUBJECT: Alternative Indexing Methods in close quarter shooting. Price: $80 Pay at class (cash or check) Equipment needed: Pistol and 3 magazines (or speedloaders if you roll with a wheel gun). Holster, mag pouch. Ammo needed: AT LEAST 200 rounds...more will allow you to shoot more. Location: The usual place .....763 CR 322 Pisgah AL 35765 -
Coming in August to The Ridge Shooting Range in Dayton TN Suarez International Rifle Gunfighting II RGF-2: RIFLE GUNFIGHTING II August 16-17, 2014 Price : $350 Dayton, Tennessee Instructor: Randy Harris Rifle confrontations worldwide rarely exceed 50 yards. Rather than a long range marksman's weapon, our research shows the rifle will most likely be used just outside the reach of more conventional weapons, as well as within these closer intervals of confrontation. This course will take the student quickly through the basics and impart the techniques necessary to deploy the Tactical Rifle, Civilian Carbine, or Submachine gun in a close interval emergency. This course is highly recommended for civilian defenders, military personnel, or police operators (we make no distinction in the material presented). DURATION: 2 days TIME: 8:30AM to 4:30PM AMMUNITION: Approximately 500 rounds (Minimum) and 50 rounds of pistol ammunition YOU NEED TO BRING: Spare clothing appropriate to the weather. Lunch, snacks and water (minimum of 1 gallon per person) for the entire day. Baseball or other style hat, sun screen, bug repellent, allergy medication (if needed), chair (if you have a problem with sitting on the ground, note taking paper/pen/pencil and a boo boo kit (band aids, gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment and tape). REQUIREMENTS: Rifle (any action or caliber suitable for use within 50 yards), all weapons must be equipped with a sling, also bring a pistol with at least (2) magazines, a belt, holster, magazine pouches, rifle ammo pouches, and ear & eye protection (knee and elbow pads are strongly suggested). USPSA for Appendix Carriers?
Cruel Hand Luke replied to roar-k's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Hey Roar-k, the guy Spiffy is referring to is OrigamiAK. He posts on Pistoltraining.com in their forum. He is 1 of only 4 people to ever shoot the Rogers Shooting School course clean and he did it from AIWB. He and Manny Bragg did it on the same day in the same class about a month ago (Bill Rogers and Rob Leatham are the other 2 who shot a perfect 125)....As far as I know you can use AIWB in Limited, Limited-10, and Open Divisions in USPSA.
