  1. Well the slide stop problem was permanently remedied by switching it out to the standard one...   Unfortunately 3 mistakes on 3 different stages (a procedural, an extra reload due to a miss and a missed metal target causing a miss on a mover) cost me 3 places....so a 2nd place turned into a 5th.....  such is life. I learn some new valuable lesson at each match...just wish they were less painful..... :wall:   On the bright side....If I had been shooting Expert ESP (which is what I'm classified as in ESP and use the same gun in bothESP and SSP ) I'd have won that class.....hey, I have to look for the ray of sunshine where I can find it.....Unfortunately I signed up for every match this year in MA SSP so I either sink or swim in the deepest end of the pool......   I'll see you guys at the Music City Cup....
  2. I just realized we have the wrong street # on in the original post.....   It is 763 County Rd 332 NOT 322......my bad..... I apologize profusely for any inconvenience caused by that typo.   While most everyone who comes to these has trained with me before and knows where the range is, it would help to have had the right road # for those who have not. All I can do is apologize and make sure I proofread the listing more thoroughly next time.....If you were coming to this and could not find it and were unable to reach me by phone please PM me.
  3. Guess since you're not going I have to go represent....
  4. Do you know how many spots are they capping it at?? I just found out about it and need to clear my schedule for that weekend.....
  5. I will endeavor to persevere ....and to bring home something other than just BBQ and a T-shirt........

  10. Yeah, but it would be so slow the timer would run out of digits......
  11. I took the same class with Prag back in....wow...2006 I guess...where has the time gone?   Like he said, he contacted a gentleman in Knoxville who was certified to certify people and put it together and we had about 6 or 8 people come to a class in Maryville. I drove up from Chattanooga.   I'm certain if you do a little leg work and find an instructor and then list it on TGO you'd have several people interested in attending and make it worth while for the instructor.
  12. That is the only time in the course of human history that you will see the words "thank GOD for 22 Jump Street".......
  13. I think the other drivers between Nashville and Oak Ridge would probably appreciate it if you'd keep an eye on the road and not the stage descriptions while you are driving in Friday morning......

  16. I know you were joking and that is how I took it.....I should have stuck a smiley in there so it didn't sound like I was "lecturing" or taking it as anything other than how it was intended.   That is the problem with the written word, and the internet in general,  the intent, ironic humor and sarcasm do not come across the way they would in a conversation where we can see each other's faces and read body language.   No worries, I took it as you intended it and my response was in the same light hearted (if ironic and sarcastic ) mood.
  17. So will eating too many doughnuts but people still do that everyday too....   Yes I agree, in the REAL WORLD you don't get to see it in advance.....but IDPA is not a REAL criminal assault it is a game we play to keep from having to clean the house and mow the lawn one weekend every month. As such...I'd like to see the stages.    If we made a "sport" that was just like the real thing only 3 people would show up....and they'd all go home with bruises and bruised egos.
  18. Any word on when stages will be available on the site?
  19. Good.... since I put you down as a squad preference.....we can discuss Sunday on Saturday.
  20. 2x4s are not needed.  I won't be using those particular targets this time.    If you have extra 1x2s that are about 4 feet high that would be great.      You are shooting the match at ORSA Saturday...right?
  21. A parking valet.....do you know anyone who wants to help direct traffic or park cars? Just kidding.   I'm going to try to get there early to get everything set up and get my car parked up near the range. That way we can line everyone else up wherever we can find a spot. I hope some of these +1s and +2s are car pooling so YOU do not have a headache trying to manage parking for 22 vehicles.    I have target stands, sticks, backers, tac man targets, paper targets, staples, screws, cordless drill, etc....if you could swing an extra stapler that would be great. Prag may bring one and I think he's bringing metal targets too....   If you could handle some tables and portable shade that would about cover it. Maybe a pre class range mow , and a cooler with ice?
  22. Are the stages for the Secret City II match on the ORSA site? If so I cannot find them....
  23. This one is getting closer. This one is taking place at "The Ridge" in scenic Dayton Tennessee, just a short drive from Chattanooga. More info on the facility can be found here.... http://theridgeshooting.com/ .    I have been getting questions regarding equipment. You will need a functional rifle and at least 3 magazines for it (preferably 4). As to gear, a chest rig, battle belt, bag to carry magazines, or just carrying them in your pockets is OK. If you have a rig that already works for you then bring it....if not then this is a good opportunity to experiment and see what does work for you. We have people come to class from different backgrounds. We might have LE guys in duty gear, military types in helmet and body armor , civilians in helmet and body armor , or civilians with a simple bag to carry mags in. Whatever YOU would really use is what YOU should bring.    Our one "rule" is that we do not allow IWB concealment holsters in combination with chest rigs for safety reasons. Concealment holsters are designed to hid the firearm, not to be used in conjunction with a rig that places items right above the holster making the gun hard to get to, and hard to draw. As such we do not allow IWB holsters with chest rigs. If you have a question about your particular setup feel free to PM me here and we can get you taken care of.    Looking forward to this one!
  24. Just got back a form 4 sent in 1st week of Dec 2013 approved July 4 ......Got back Form 1 sent same day in December and stamped received Dec 11 was approved July 11.  So apparently it is about 7 months.
