  1. Definitely sounds like a really good idea. I will hopefully be able to do that later this year. I'm sure i'll be posting some questions about those classes later on. Thanks!

    My Kahr=crap

My logic may be off here. But I would put more trust in a pistol that is getting as much individual attention as yours is than I would a brand new one.
  3. Blazer Brass and/or WWB are not "commercially remanufactured ammunition" are they? Just got a new Glock 26, and can't help but be a bit concerned after seeing that
  4. If it's anything like in the Memphis area, they will go quick. I live pretty much across the street from a walmart, and have been keeping tabs on their 9mm inventory. They seem to get in 40 boxes at a time(?) The last shipment of 40 boxes was put out one night last week, and they were down to 3 boxes by noonish the next day. They say that's typical. Apparently the 100 round WWB 9mm moves just as fast. I managed to get the last two boxes of Remington 115gr JHP the week before last ($24/100). They said their supplier had no jhp at all now. Probably no point paying extra for that particular jhp anyway though.
  5. That's good info, Eric. Thanks! I am going to try my luck with those Remingtons sometime this week. Not sure how many rounds have been through my 21a, but will report back with any interesting results. Cool deal on the new barrel. I have been meaning to look into a .22 conversion kit for my 26... Assuming they make them for the 26. Might even sell my Ruger MK II to get one.
  6. Makes a lot of sense. I'll get a box of 20, stagger them, and then decide. In any case, i'll be putting a mag or two of whatever i carry through the gun at least once a month.... Thanks, man
  7. I'm taking "the class" next week. I'm hoping they will cover this kinda thing. It's FOUR HOURS of classroom time, so i hope so!
  8. Sorry... One more concern.... Is the +p stuff going to handle a lot differently than cheap loads (i.e. Blazer or WWB)? I had rather not have *too* much difference in my practice and carry ammo. I'm not saying that's a deal breaker on the +p, but would like to have some idea before investing in it. Thanks again for all the input!
  9. Nice shooting I have one of those too! Got it as part of a trade seeeeeeveral years ago. The finish is pretty worn, but I think it's fine otherwise. Were you having issues with those Remingtons you shot the first time out? Last week I ran a few mags through mine for the first time in at least 10yrs with some cheap ammo (not cci) that was probably 12yrs old. Out of 4 mags, i had 3 rounds that i had to drop the hammer on twice to fire. The brass was dented pretty good after the first strike though. Not sure if I can blame that on the gun or not. No jams though..... Yeah. I have heard cci mini-mags and stingers are most reliable in these guns. I dig the pics on your site, btw. I'm a big fan of all those nature shows and stuff
  10. That's really good to hear, Mike I had a G-23 (from '94) that was like that. Hated to trade it, but was the only way to get the 26. I'm not regretting it at all so far though
  11. I appreciate those links, man. Good stuff! I worry about how different the results of tests like that may be if done with a 3.46" barrel like the 26's. Especially that 2nd link where they were using a 4.5 and 4.75 barrel... Afraid of losing just enough velocity to not expand. I probably worry too much though Yeah. Availability will sadly have to figure greatly into the equation :-\ Will add those to my list.
  12. I was all about handguns in my younger days. But hadn't been shooting in about 10yrs before I got my brand new Glock 26 last weekend. I mainly got it because I will be getting a carry permit pretty soon (my class is in about a week). But, permit or not, I think I'm really getting hooked on guns/shooting again Really glad I found this place
  13. Thanks for the super-quick responses! I believe Classic Arms had a few 20 round(?) boxes of the Gold Dot +p a couple days ago.... I will keep an eye out for the others you guys mentioned too though. So, all things considered, I'm just going to test 25 rounds or so before trusting my Glock 26 with it. If anyone thinks that is unreasonable, please let me know. Haven't shot +p in about 12yrs. I'm sure the price per round will have me flinching more than the +p will though
  14. I purchased a brand new Glock 26 about a week ago. I have spent hours researching which ammo to carry when i get my permit. My class is March 16 I have decided any one of about 50 loads will be fine To cut to the chase.... How many rounds of the expensive stuff do i need to feed my Glock 26 before determining that it is reliable enough? Guess I was hoping you guys could point me to a round known to feed reliably in the 26. One that I could just shoot enough of to get a feel for. Then shoot a couple mags of it a month, rather than blowing $250 or so in an hour (double that if there is a jam).... Assuming I could even find that much of the primo stuff ...I plan to shoot a lot of the cheap stuff too, btw. Really glad I found this place! Thanks for any help!
