  1. You come to a forum, ask for guidance, two people who have been to Camden for Tactical Response recommend it, but for reasons you won't share you pass even though you have never been there? Really? I've been there and done that, and I'm taking my teenage son to a rifle class in Camden next weekend. I'm not trading on internet hearsay with his safety, believe that. As for Suarez and specifically Rick Klopp, I've trained with him, too, and can also strongly recommend him. I've been to the range they are using and spent time with at least some of the guys who will be in that class in Montgomery. The range and the guys that I met in Montgomery are first class. Klopp is going there to teach the class, he's from Georgia.
  2. Camden is not "the Nashville area" but it is not far. Tactical Response has multiple Fighting Rifle courses scheduled. This is top shelf training.
  3. I got my XS Big Dots on the AK47. I strongly recommend using a vise for this procedure. Now to take them out and get them zeroed.
  4. Oscar's Taco Shop and Louie's Bocce Club Pizza, both on Columbia Avenue in Franklin, neither is posted.
  5. If you were walking around handing out $50 bills, someone would complain that you weren't handing out $100 bills.
  6. I don't show up where I'm not wanted. I don't quibble with the terminology used to tell me that I am unwelcome. It's true that the under the law as now amended there are some places that had "nonconforming" signage that now have enforceable signage.
  7. Ohhh...we can agree on mayonnaise. We agree that if you put mayonnaise on my sandwich we're going to settle the "is 9mm enough" debate real quickly.
  8. How hard is it to install the rear sight? How does the front sight install?
  9. I'm taking my almost 14-year-old son to that class. I did Fighting Rifle in February. It's a great class. It will be his first course.
  10. You know where Oscar's is? It's right across the street. It shares a building with the Shell station. Ain't much to look at but the food is good and the owners are cool.
  11. Just got home from Louie's Bocce Club Pizza in Franklin. It's on Columbia Avenue near Downs Boulevard. Happened to be on the way home from Owl Hollow with #1 son, decided to drop in for a pie. Good food, he's cool with us gun nuts. No on premises consumption and he didn't mind my OC one bit. Give it a try. You'll like it.
  12. It is statutes and arguments like this one that pay for my kids' food, shelter, clothes and other needs. God bless the legislature. I thank God for fools every day. Amen!
  13. OhShoot: If you wanted to find an AR15 for sale on this forum, would you look in the Curio threads?
  14. First thing, this is a federal case dealing with OSHA, a federal statutory and regulatory scheme. As I understand it, the would-be plaintiffs intend to pursue a claim under a similar but not identical state regulatory environment (TOSHA). I don't know how alike the federal OSHA and the state TOSHA may be. In any event, the plaintiffs will be traveling under state law in a state court. This alone could lead to different results. Furthermore, we live in the 6th Circuit here in Tennessee. The 10th Circuit opinion, while it could be considered persuasive, would not be binding upon the federal courts in the 6th Circuit.
  15. Here's the difference: the switchblade is illegal regardless of your sobriety. It is a prohibited weapon, period. An otherwise lawful possession of a gun in a safe does not become illegal merely because you knocked back a few beers. You cannot be sober enough to legally possess a switchblade. See the difference?
  16. I'm no expert but I think you have this backwards. I thought the 1:7 twist rate will properly stabilize the heavier rounds that the 1:11 won't. For what it is worth, I have a Daniel Defense M4 with a 1:7 twist that overstabilizes most 55 grain rounds, causing a wide pattern. It puts 62 grain rounds in a nice tight pattern.
  17. The definition of a switchblade, which is illegal, is several pages back on this thread. A knife that is not a switchblade and not longer than 4" would likely not be illegal.
  18. Stiffing servers not involved in the litigation to make a point to the ones who are involved in the litigation is like the state revoking your permit because Leonard Embody is an idiot.
  19. How about win the lawsuit on its merits and have the plaintiffs pay all the costs for it?
  20. I saw Charlie today. The range looked to be in pretty good shape.
  21. Not sure what CHMR stands for, but if there is shooting, I'm in. Any date is fine.
