  1. I can't help but think that down the road someone will call this new permit the "common sense" approach and use it to strip the rights protected by the now "enhanced permit" by removing it as an option.
  2. FWIW, I did go and found it to be better than I expected. There were some very interesting collectors items on display, along with a decent mix of new and used offerings. Certainly not the biggest or best I've been to, but I thought it was worth my time and the entry fee.
  3. I saw an ad for a gun and knife show this weekend in Knoxville. Evidently it's put on by Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors. Any one know if this show would be worth the time and $8 to go?
  4. Wow, learned something new! Does that go for both rifles and handguns?
  5. I've searched but can't seem to find an answer to what's probably and easy question related to this topic. Is it ever legal to *ship* a firearm as part of a private party sale?
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. If/when you hear anything more, please share it here.
  7. Does anyone here works for an institution where this would apply? If so, have you gone through the process of notifying the campus police about your eligibility to carry? I'm curious to hear about how you did it and what kind of response you got out of them.
  8. Wolf - http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?p=EXK&i=67117   Oddly, buying by the 500 is cheaper than by the 1000.
  9. $149 for 91/30's and $235 for the M44's.  The 91/30's are supposed to be "excellent" and have matching numbers all the way to the bayonet, which may be meaningful to some.
  10. ArmyBrat beat me to my comment.  If you don't want it, I have no doubt that several of us would be interested!
  11. Great!  I'm hoping that they don't call, simply to avoid the hassle of phone tag with them.  With a little luck, I'll be good to go for C&R purchases before Feb comes to a close.   Thanks again guys!
  12. Thanks for the information guys.  I'm wanting to get mine and had heard that it could take 2-3 months.  Hopefully I'll see a turnaround closer to what you've mentioned.   BTW, the application says that they may contact you before the license is issued.  Any idea how common that actually is?
  13. Has anyone gotten their C&R lately? If so, how long did it take to process?
  14. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
  15. Anyone got a good source for SKS parts?  My SKS came with an aftermarket 30 round magazine, so I'd like to get one of the original fixed magazines.  I'm also missing the bayonet, cleaning rod, and sling.  Some of these items are listed on Amazon, but I'm not sure if they are "real" or new reproductions.   Thanks, R
