I appreciate all of the input. Learned a few things and since I'm in the auto parts industry that counts.

I don't dislike EVs and I do think they make sense for some uses. For my commute of 30 miles one way, with charging stations on our company lot, one would be great for me. But the expense for a "go to work" car is ridiculous. I would be better served by a plug in hybrid. I do think most of the EVs available are, let's say, not pleasant looking. That is purely personal taste as many ICE vehicles are equally unpleasant. The technology is improving by leaps and bounds so the push has been good for that aspect and I expect within my lifetime the benefits will make EVs more practical.

BUT, we don't have the charging stations nor the power available to make them a viable replacement for ICE at this time. I do not believe EV is going to last. I read that VOLVO has put several hydrogen fuel cell trucks on the road. Fuel cell tech could be the answer. All of this and I have for decades believed in diversifying our fuel needs. So EV is good on that front.

My biggest issue is the socialist puppet trying to force these down my throat. I dislike anything that's pushed on me. I'm also a full believer in free market economy. The similarities to a certain dictator and "people's car" are too much. The thought that the executives in my company are getting a government kickback funded by my tax dollars chafes my ass. that brings up the picture I have had of Tesla being a status symbol since they delivered their first unit. I realize the tech would be decades away without tax money but let the market drive itself. That is what free market economy means. Do we need alternative fuels? Absolutely. Is this the way to handle it? Not in my opinion. Will I continue to drive ICE vehicles? Oh hell yeah! EVs may be quicker but there's nothing like a good exhaust note to get your attention.

One last note. The green energy, earth savers don't want us mining lithium in the US so we would still be dependent on foreign "energy"

Now here’s a concern for me! The Ruger LCP works great for pocket carry. Not sure how much bigger I could go and still be comfortable. Thanks for making me think.👍

It would be gray to have more rounds and more pop, but not at the expense of maybe not always having it with me.

yeah the P32 has been my constant companion. I have other small/medium pistols but this one is always with me. I would seriously consider a Sig 239 if looking for a pocket 9 but I'm a 1911 guy so that might not work for you. Also, I see the slight advantage to pocket pistols thet don't have a manual safety. Double stack is a non starter for pocket for me so nothing is going to add capacity over either of my KelTecs.

I don't understand how you can comfortably pocket carry some of these guns. Y'all got some big pockets.

I have a pair of cargo shorts that will hide a 4 inch 357 in the front pocket.

  5. I only own one 9mm. KelTec PF9. would make a good pocket pistol with the right holster. very light, very narrow, no safety. My pocket pistol is a P32.

oh yeah, great shooter, feeds everything so far. MCARBO springs and flat trigger.

I would assume that you are correct. The protesters aren’t asking for more guns in schools. They want guns removed from the communities, which we know isn’t going to happen.

One of the protesters at the Capitol had a sign reading "I'm safer here than in class" This shows So much. I would feel safer surrounded by armed state police and security.

As far as vouchers, I would support the idea. Back years ago parochial schools spent less per student, had smaller classes, and produced more college grads. Our schools have gotten too large and unfortunately are not preparing our children for life. Not sure where we are headed but it isn't where we should be.

Lastly, luck, fate, or the hand of God was there, 152 rounds fired, 6 lives lost.

45 ACP isn't popular anymore because of projectile tech advancements. The question I always ask everyone who preaches 9mm is: how many cases of premium JHP rounds do you have on hand? If the answer is one 20 round box, I'd take the 45.

just for the record, I have TWO boxes of JHP,,,in 9mm. I lost count on .45. And yes, loaded .45s are heavy. I find that weight comforting.

I would be highly disappointed if they didn’t.

Also, any that might be hanging out, eat a dick.

it's not like conservative, Christian, gun owning, former military, anti-abortion, NRA, etc, types who would be on their list hang out here. 🙂

  9. Just a reflection of the entitled self-appreciative part of our current society. Have to laugh. It's the seller's choice, folks have different standards for who to sell to, I see ads with "must have TN CCW" and I pass. Doesn't make me mad or want to start Karen crap. Besides, from the OP comments on how many he has bought/sold it sounds like a flipper. I wouldn't sell to him even if I were selling. I'm keeping everything I have for now. (see regretted sales thread) LOL

  10. I have a Marlin branded 3-6 on my 30-30. the magnification ring doesn't work, the outer ring moves but the mag doesn't change. Does anyone here know how to fix scopes? I want to keep the "matching" scope on this. (since we're discussing scopes on lever rifles) LOL

Many thanks. I’ve found this to be a difficult hobby.

I’ve learned to make a passable holster, but making them attractive is about beyond my skill set.

I have a stack of "well that won't work" I have issues making my own patterns for stuff no one has.

Having guns no one makes holsters for is what got me going BTW.

I’ve found no fault with my CZ75, except I’d prefer to have an ambi safety lever.

my very favorite gun person tested and reviewed a CZ75. Col. Cooper declared it the second best handgun in the world and wrote that it would be hard to decide number one if it fired .45 ACP. When EAA came out with the Witness clone in .45 I bought the first one I found. Great pistol but one of those regretted sales discussed in another thread. Now they are ridiculously priced and it's hard to find a base, non-race gun. The only fault I found is the grip is too big for my hand. If I'd known then what I know now it would have thinner grip panels and be my favorite pistol. I never have "gun money" when a CZ97 comes up, so sad.

  13. Only two I do not regret selling, a cheap SA .22 revolver that was out of time and the .38 spl derringer I traded for it. these were my first wo handguns when I turned 21. The derringer would have been fine if I'd known not to shoot +P through it.

Lost three when I went through a divorce, lawyers are expensive. Traded a few. now I won't sell any. Might trade if something high on my list comes up but then it will be another regret. My kids will get all of mine.

I would agree but the OP and trend is to think “what would you carry”.

As such, I’ll throw out the humble Bersa Thunder 22.  Great pistol.  It’s fun, accurate, and a joy to handle.  If one were so inclined to carry a .22 then you could dump 400 grains of lead on target with a quickness.

I didn't get the impression of "what would you carry" from David's original post. I do tend to think that way rather than target or plinking though. There is also the hunting aspect, at one point (when I was MUCH younger) I wanted to hunt big bear with a handgun and as such I think the Redhawk would be my choice over an S&W or a 10mm.

I like the Bersa but personally would not use any rimmed semi auto for defense. For a true mouse gun the Browning Baby cannot be beaten. 9 ounces empty and mine has been reliable. My dad had one for all of my life and he told me he couldn't jam it even when he tried. .25 ACP is just as capable ballistically from pistol length barrel as any .22

didn't mean to leave out the collectors. I would put Greg's P08 near the top for me there. Wish I knew who dad sold his to.

For reference, when I traded for my Browning it had rust and lint "bunnies" in it. a good cleaning and a little oil and she runs like a Browning should. The only reason it sits in my safe is my P32.

  15. Thanks David. you had to start something near and dear to my heart. Most all of my handguns are out of the mainstream. I have a soft spot for Taurus, at the moment I own 4. I much prefer all metal handguns and have never owned a Glock. I see a lot of "the last blank I would ever sell" and it would be a very hard decision but my little Firestar M45 would probably be it. It's small (Officers Model size) but heavy, accurate, and the two I've owned were dead anvil reliable. The only failure I ever encountered was due to ammo covered in brass shavings.
Oh, I don't care for striker fired and only have a couple, one is new to me and I have yet to test it but it may replace the PF9 as daily.
