  1. How true,I have read of some pretty botched smithing performed by people that say they know what they are doing.
  2. nothing wrong with being diverse,I have a Beretta U 22 NEOS-plastic,A Taurus PT140-plastic,and a Taurus PT1911-not plastic.
  3. Niiice,I think you will be happy with it,congrats.
  4. The Honda quote is just funny,I will have to remember this one the next time a guy tells me its blasphemy to put Kimber and Taurus in the same sentence.
  5. Wow,I guess a lot of you do,I have a Crossbreed Supertuck for my Mill Pro I use daily,I tried walking around for awhile with my 1911 in the same maker for a 1911 but seemed so heavy,I use a Beltmann Bullhide belt, maybe I will have to just try it once in awhile.
  6. Is there anyone here carrying a full size 1911 concealed,if you are how are you handling that much weight on your hip, doesnt it get real uncomfortable??
  7. Nice gun,is it a Rock Island.?
  8. Yes sir It does shoot, the comp is a Wilson Combat drop in,all you have to do is replace the 1 piece guide rod with a 2 piece, also Wilson Combat,it does seem to help with muzzle flip but then I was shooting a Ultra 3 inch so I cant really compare, also added a Wilson Bullet proof slide stop, yea, tea I know its starting to sound like a Wilson ad.Grips are by Raasco out of CA.
  9. A couple of days ago I bought a new Taurus PT1911AR and added a few upgrades to it,well today I finally got to the range to try the gun out and all I have to say is,happy-happy-happy,this thing shoots like no tomorrow, not a FTF,FTE,or mishap of any sort.Upon my newly purchased Taurus pistols,of which there are 2,both of these just work, plain and simple,I have a picture here of the gun with a few goodies installed.
  10. Did that once with a 41 mag in a Ruger 44 super blackhawk, had to drive all 6 casings out of the cylinder with a punch.Boy them Rugers are tough.
  11. I DID IT I DID IT,thank you so much for the help.
  12. Nice PT1911,I just picked one up myself,I think they have a lot of features for the buck.I just cant figure out how to post pics or I would. This is the start of my pimpin the 1911
  13. yeh prices are unbelievable,I picked up a box of Speer/LE Gold Dot box of 50 230 GR GDHP for 39.99 and I think this is high, but its hard to find any kind of defense ammo in .45 Cal,so I bought them anyway, now I am kicking myself for not buying 2 of them,Midway has these for $25.00 for a box of 20,I think I got a good deal, but thats few and far between.
  14. Nice looking piece,I think its supposed to rain for 40 more days and nights, gotta canoe, you could paddle and shoot maybe start a new sport.
  15. If you go to taurusarmed.net you can find loads of info on all of the Taurus firearms, all kinds of info on dissassembly, smithing, problems, more info the better.I spend a little time on their forums and the people there are always willing to help with info.

    Whats next....

New one today, picked up a Taurus PT1911 with the light rail in matte black, just as you know a range gun,er,or,well, and, anything i might want to use it for.:screwy:Nuts about this 1911 types.
  17. Robocop with his robopistol.
  18. Neat it has its own name, think a person could qualify for SSI-Disability.
  19. Had the same problem yesterday right arm also,I think sometimes its from tightening a persons arm muscles, not sure why it happens but its darn irritating.Shake around like a person has some kind of disease, old timers.
  20. Makes a lot of sense, think I will do just that.
  21. Yeh,that would be cool alright, cool deal that is.Seriously I think that a Taurus PT1911 in stainless would be a decent, but not very carryable pistol,I dont think I spelled that right,Oh well.I have had several high end firearms in my past and to tell the truth I think sometimes they are grossly over rated,$1100.00 plus for my Kimber, thats a lot of cheese.
  22. Well I see everyone is kinda on the same page,I have had the Kimber for about 6 months, about 450 rounds thru it now, last week I put another 100 or so downrange,It never fails to feed or extract, this slide stop that catches premature really bothers me.Alas as though the gun gods have been watching over me,I ran out to the mailbox and there in all of the glory is the crossbreed I have been waiting for that I ordered for my Taurus, could it be an omen, quite possible.
  23. hey, what would you fellas do in the event you had a high end handgun say a Kimber and you didnt feel you could rely on it 100%,but you had a non high end handgun that you could, would a person consider selling or trading the high end gun for say something in a non carry house gun.EXAMPLE(Full size .45 ACP)and call it a day.I am pondering carrying my Taurus MILL PRO PT140 and possibly turning my Kimber Ultra CDP II .45 into a full size 45 I can use at home. The Taurus as luck would have it works better for me,go figure.
  24. Simply put,recoloring the past.
  25. I have used pay pal for about a year, the only glitch I had was when trying to purchase a set of grips at Range USA,pay pal denied payment, when I called to ask why the nice girl on the phone said it was due to a firearm related purchase,so they bumped it,which in turned made me see red.
