wanted Wanted - South African/Rhodesian guns - Nashville
Rasputin posted a topic in Firearms Classifieds
Looking for any guns from South Africa or Rhodesia (Now Zimbabwe), including parts kits or builds. I’d also consider surplus kit or ammo from that region. Pretoria Arms (PAF), Vektor, FALs and Galils that served in the region, etc. Also Webleys, Enfields, or other early British arms that were used by SA forces (if South African marked). Would offer cash or trade, depending. I have a lot of ammo. I’m South African and would like to build a collection of firearms from my country. I also have family who served in WW1 and 2, primarily North Africa and Italy, and some were killed in action. I know this is a long shot, but it never hurts to ask. I would also appreciate any local leads you may find. Thanks! -

Well that’s pretty cool. Invented by the Swedes, and then only 70K built before Egypt swapped to the Maadi AK. 50 years old and already a collector’s piece! Wish I had a larger safe. As you know, the hard part isn’t buying them, it’s making space for more! GLWS.

I’ll take it. Pm sent Edit: made a mistake, did not take it

For the asking price, I will also include this Zastava side mount, which gives you a zero-holding universal pic rail for any optic you want. I will also offer some additional items at-cost (or work out a package deal). This is a courtesy to serious buyers who want to kickstart their build, I will not sell to anyone but the buyer. -Bulgarian 30rd steel mags - $15 each -Polymer 30rd mags - $10 each -Romanian 75rd drum with 75rds Wolf 7.62x39 (new, unfired, still in oil) - $110 -Russian Tula 30rd Bakelite magazine - $110 -Epsilon VG6 brake (loud, eats recoil) - $50- 4 replies

@1gewehr Oh wow, two of us! That’s cool. Yes, I am happy to have an original stock, even non-matching. Somebody filed the serial number off the inside of the stock, but the missed the serial number on the metal slide that locks into the grip! Some people will do anything to a gun to make a buck. The stock is functional but I was planning to use it with a mauser reproduction stock to protect the original. Sad to hear it won’t fit. Perhaps I can get it to work with some hand fitting and a dremel? Appreciate the ammo advice. I do have some PPU mauser on the way. I really like PPU, it is usually well specced for these older european guns.

That is something I had never considered - the implication of Bruin on SBR regulations. I’m not remotely close to a gun control expert but there probably weren’t any barrel length and stock restrictions in Ben Franklin’s day. On the flipside, there probably aren’t a lot of people who want to challenge SBR laws because of the optics. Personally, while I am no fan of the Bruin decision, I think SBR laws are dumb. This pistol is pretty heavy and hard to hold steady. Mount the stock and suddenly your grip becomes rock solid, the weapon pulls in nice and tight, and your eye aligns naturally over the sights with a firm cheekweld. The stock makes any average shooter into a capable fighter. I can envision many many situations, hunting or defense, where the addition of the stock on a compact gun makes the difference between hitting and missing your target in a stressful situation. Just my 2c. Re: the Astra, I also didn’t know these existed until I saw them on Gunbroker. There are a few more clones out there, I think Star and Royal also made some. These Astras are known for having many improvements over the Mauser, particularly the takedown is very fast and easy. The left side lifts off to reveal the interior, which came from the factory jeweled (mine has faded but the jeweling can be seen on Forgotten Weapons’ video on this model). The bore is near perfect. As soon as ammo arrive I intend to take it to the range. I also want to do some accuracy comparisons between stocked vs unstocked. I’ll try share the results.

Thought y’all might appreciate this C96 clone, the Astra 900. Only 35K were made, mostly for China. This one has an original but non-matching stock. This is also one of those few models models that is both a curio/relic and exempt from SBR regulation. So because I have a C&R FFL, I got to experience the joy of having this little short-barrel delivered right to my home!

Wow, can’t believe I missed this topic till now! I’m a huge fan of pocket pistols. I started with modern guns but am very slowly expanding into older guns. Most of my older guns are mid or full size. I really like Berettas. I have a Tomcat 3032 with an optics cut which is quite fun. I picked up an 84BB in 380 for cheap and liked it so much I got its little brother, the 81BB in 32. But again, they are not quite pocket sized. Next on my list is a Beretta Model 20 in 25acp. They only made it for 3 years in the 80s.

I’d give you a good price on my full-size, and that would be just so I could get one with a threaded barrel! Shoot me a message if interested.

wanted WTB or WTT for Browning BDA .380
Rasputin replied to drice0517's topic in Firearms Classifieds
Love the Beretta version, I have the 84BB. Liked it so much I got the 81BB in 32. I see BDAs more rarely on Gunbroker, though they can be found there in Used/Excellent condition for around the $6-700 mark. Just in case one doesn’t show up locally. Good luck!
