  1. Remington hasn't kept a very good reputation for quality for a few years now. I hope they will get it straightened out. I watched in horror, the same thing happen to Winchester. I hate to see a large corporation buy out and then bastardize an iconic American brand.
  2. Buy the gun, not the story. That is my motto.
  3. You might want to take a chill pill rather than threatening people here who disagree with you. You will find this forum to be much more enjoyable. That, and RichardR isn't the only one here who isn't agreeing with your posts in this thread.
  4. You are correct in that the water that flows through is deemed to be "waters of the state". That doesn't mean one has permission to walk the private property on which it flows.
  5. I believe that only applies to navigable waters and things such as Corps of Engineers property here in Tennessee.
  6.   I don't know what a "slop" is, but I believe the best way to have good neighbors is to make an effort to be one.
  7. That's the one. Is it still open? It doesn't appear to be.
  8. You guys are making me appreciate having good neighbors more and more.
  9. There's a dealer in Cookeville who posts ads on GOC. He seems to have attractive prices on reloading paraphernalia Also, you would get the benefit of hands on prior to purchasing, rather than ordering fbased on an internet photo..
  10. More than I care to count. I buy when I find a bargain, and stop buying when I run out of storage room.
  11. I can't fathom why the Hendersonville show didn't make money. Everyone I've been to was packed with both vendors and customers.
  12. I meant a legitimate use for me. I'm certain others have found many uses for them; several listed in this thread. I struggle to shoot a handgun well. If it doesn't carry easily on a belt, I would prefer to have a rifle.
  13. There is already an FFL/gunstore in the Castalian Springs/ Bethpage area. I've never been there and can't comment on it.   There was a gun store at the intersection of 231 and hwy 25. It doesn't appear to be open any longer. I did visit it once, and can say I'm not surprised to see it close.   Other than in Gallatin, I am not aware of any other outdoor public range in the area.
  14. I didn't intend to be derogatory, and you have no need to justify nor debate it with me. I will say that I'm glad I'm not in your position that makes you feel the need for all the stuff you posted. I hope your situation improves quickly.   I would be looking for a way out of whatever predicament you've found yourself in.
  15. Perhaps I worded it wrong. I'm more than happy with you guys  having them, or anything else gun related for that matter. I was simply wondering what I was missing by not having one or both.
  16. I never got on the Thompson Contender bandwagon either. Probably for many of the same reasons.
  17. Thanks for all the answers.
  18. The old Lee hand primers were awesome. The new ones not so much. Watch ebay, and you can still find an old model.
  19. Wow! It sounds like you either need to move, or else seek help from a competent mental health professional. I don't have enough information to say which is the case.
  20. I have seen an explosion of these things lately. I see no legitimate use for them. I'm not promoting the banning of them or anything like that. I expect this thread will ruffle a few feathers, but I'm hoping someone can enlighten me as to why they are desirable.
  21. I have two children and a wife. I also don't live in Nashville.
  22. I can see a determined thief defeating the lock on the case, stealing the case, and leaving the pistol.
  23. I would have likely offered the man something to drink.
  24. You'd think Lebanon, with the help of an able promoter, could support a great gunshow. So far, however, the Lebanon shows I've attended blow like a category 5 tornado. I'm not going to another one until I hear different.
