Well, you can always hammer or otherwise pinch the slide to tighten it back up, but the. You’re back to lapping once again. -

Tips for lapping a 1911 slide to frame?

I have a tool with a wood handle and different sized suction cups on each end I’ve used to lap engine valves. You spin it back and forth between your palms. There’s not really a secret to lapping. You’re just removing material in places you can’t readily get a sanding block. You know you’re done when no dull areas are left. -

That’s how it works. Will it not operate properly as is? -

Old video I’m sure. I’ve pulled bullets from someone else’s reloads and burned the powder. Pretty underwhelming. Many people are convinced it will explode. Black powder is a different story. A firecracker is a good indication of how it reacts to fire. -
I thought someone here might find this interesting, informative, or somehow helpful.

My neighbor would have video of it. Part of me thinks I'd be better off not knowing.

Way back in high school, a neighbor of mine got fed up with this. His solution was to make one in shop class out of 1/4” steel. I hauled it home for him. We had to unload it and set it in place with a tractor and front end loader. Thirty something years later, that box has many paint colors on it, but still stands. I have considered doing something similar. I’d need to broke a post hole auger for the tractor. No way I’m hand digging a hole that deep!

I live at the end of a dead end road in the middle of nowhere. Once every year or two, I find myself replacing my mailbox. What the hell is wrong with people??!!??? I'd sure like to rig this one with a grenade.

I use a Lee Perfect Powder Measure. It has worked for 30 years, continues to work, and costs about $30 now.

I’d look for a Remington Nylon 66.

Danzig was a German arsenal who manufactured 98 Mauser rifles. This appears to be a sporterized Mauser of various parts. If it shoots good, that is a great price in my opinion. Years ago, surplus Mausers flooded this country and were sold for very low prices. Everybody and his brother bought them and made them into customized deer rifles. Depending on the quality of work and who did it, some of them today command very high prices. I do not believe this is one of those, but is probably a very serviceable hunting rifle in it’s on right. I find the front sight rather interesting, and wonder if there are any markings on it.

They are arming themselves - or at least trying to

But it ain't! We should be asking ourselves why. -
We have game laws to keep your neighbor from baiting and killing all the game you are trying to manage on your property. Since (thank goodness) government does not own all the land in the state, it is necessary that they go onto private property in order to enforce these laws. While there are always going to be a small percentage of game wardens who are peckerheads, I believe the TWRA has done a decent job managing wildlife populations. I’m not a .gov fan either, but some government is necessary because human beings are, by nature, vile creatures. I prefer having the TWRA and a huntable population of game and fish over having neither.

Finally shot a doe a few minutes ago for meat. I didn’t take a pic. It looks like every other doe. I shot it with a 93 Spanish Mauser I bought for $30 years ago. One shot and dead right there.
