The Dems were turning out voters at a 3 to 1 ratio. Even if all of Hillary's supporters stayed home Obama would still have half again the number of voters than McCan't. And besides if you were a Hillary supporter and your choices were Obama or McCan't who would you choose?

Not to be a killjoy but Obama will be our next President. You can speculate all you want but learn to deal with it. I to will vote for McCan't but it will not matter. We have survived(even thrived) democratic presidents before. These things are cyclic and the republicans time in the executive branch is up. I personally think that grassroots america needs to focus more on the legislature. Obama is inexperienced and that will definately affect his ability to actually get anything done. If he is a great President then he will only achieve about 40% of his goals. I just hope I can live with that 40%. Obama will be our next president....hell, he may even be a good one. As I watched the news today I couldn't help but notice the genuine positive emotional effect his nomination has had on many(primarily the black community and the global community) people everywhere. People telling stories of making there children watch his speech last night so they could remember when. A world in which my children (4 and 2) will not even think twice about having a black president. It is hard to deny the very real social effect. Then I thought......What if somebody kills him? Hillary as VP! We are so f*%ked!.

I most likely would be bugging in. I am surrounded on three sides by ex-jarheads and the neighbor on the remaining side is ex-army I am ex-navy and we have already decided we will be banding together to police our own neighborhood in event of SHTF. I might have a Norinco"paratrooper" SKS as the truck gun. This along with a small BOB(jumbo versapak) with 200 rounds on strippers a blow out kit, fixed blade knife, compass, small binoculars, multiplier tool, 100 feet black paracord, couple of powerbars, magnesium firestarter and a bottle of water would be a good starting point. I might also carry a Glock 23 and a S&W 442. My main concern would be getting from work to my wife and kids and then home. If I could only choose one rifle it would be a FN FAL but anyone who has read any of my posts know I am a huge proponet of the deadliest battle implement ever devised the Avtomat Kalashnikov. You need to post pics. It sounds like possibly the front sight base is cross threaded or you have a good old fashioned canted front sight base. It is hard to tell without seeing the rifle. I also live in Smyrna, PM me and possibly we can get together and take a look at it. I will be unavailable until later this afternoon. You could also try The Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet. I am sure they have the tool not so sure they would have a Front sight post. C_O nice big dots.
