  1. 99% of legislators do not give a rat's rear end what you think, or what you might possibly believe, unless the narrative of your entreaty is punctuated with $ signs.   The ONLY cure to career politicians (our real problem) is the institution of term limits, which will never become reality, as the voters who control this issue are the addicted.   The path to correcting the problem would be abolishing the IRS and installing a Fair Tax scheme, which would effectively do away with lobbyist from business entities.  Without lobbyist there would be no career politicians, the ones so inclined would have to take up honest criminal enterprises like kidnapping and murder for hire...

  5. ...laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.   My point all along in this discussion is that we need the right people elected to be our servants, (and they need to understand that they are supposed to be servants, not rulers) and then they need to listen to the petitioners, with reasonable request.    If each of us gets to make all the determinations about how our property is used, well, I believe "Helter Skelter" is a term I have heard before...   Should I be able to simply shoot the criminal that runs a barbed wire fence across my 85 year old Father's property, attempting to, as they put it, "adversely posses it", (I call it theft)?  Sheriff knew who owned the property, but maintained that we had to pay for a survey and verify the deed that was held was valid before he would make them take the fence down, even though he grew up in the neighborhood and knew what was what. (This was not on some back acreage but rather through the middle of his front yard, cutting off his front door access.) Nearly two years later the crooks have not been held liable, no one has repaid my dad for the money spent on the survey to prove what we all already knew.  We retained council, sued for the money to pay for the survey and to this day have not received a court date. You can fight City Hall and the County Court, but you will not win.  Pay your taxes and be a Tennessee Teacher of the Year, and the law will let a meth head terrorize you in your home in your old age.  You can give the Sheriff video of the neighbor parking their truck in such a manner as to shine its lights into your 84 year old Mothers bedroom window and setting the alarm off at 3 in the morning every day for a week, time stamped on a DVR, and they will tell you that they have to witness it happen to be a crime, while the neighbor is under a Restraining Order to leave the old folks alone.
  6. Well, it might until annexation.  Then the story changes.   I like the premise though.  Taxes are a taking, I am all for getting the government out of my wallet, and my bank account. Y'all figure out how to forestall the City, the County and the School Board let me know.
  7. When the wife was doing peritoneal dialysis, we HAD to have our well water tested. (Having a tube in your side that WILL get wet requires it) Found our water supply had a slight tinge of chloroform bacteria.  Required that I pipe in County water or install a terribly expensive filter system, so I opted for the County supply and a less expensive filter, that would suffice for our needs.  Kept the well for toilets and outside water, (cuts down on charge by the county) but there are numerous firms who test water.
  8. Your peers in the City or the County make the laws of the land that you will abide by. Dodge and dive as usual, but violate a County or City restrictive code, ordinance or rule and you too can be cooling your heels in jail.  That enumerated enough for you?   Or am I incorrect that City and County governments can take property by the power of imminent domain?

See Article 1 Section 8 of the Tennessee Constitution, then move somewhere that does not require conformance to what one's peers may require.  You peers may be the County, the City or the State.  What if your neighbor wanted to raise pigs on his property in the middle of town, with the flies and the smell, or put in a slaughterhouse?  Would your personal liberty beliefs protect him in such a situation?   I now live in the County, with a gun range in my back yard.  I understand the rules, and live accordingly.  If I lived in the City limits they would put me in jail for fire-forming 100 pc.s of brass on a Sunday afternoon, as it is, the choices I have made and the location I choose to live allow that activity.

Deprivation of life, liberty or property under law; due process That no man shall be taken or imprisoned, or disseized of his freehold, liberties or privileges, or outlawed, or exiled, or in any manner destroyed or deprived of his life, liberty or property, but by the judgment of his peers or the law of the land.   If you have peers who decide you must cut your grass, Constitution says they can require you to cut your grass.  Vote with your feet and move where they are not so inclined.

  18.     So noted.  Just like the Sheriff's Association in TN, which is in fact a big political lobbyist organization that does not necessarily speak for every individual Sheriff, and the Chiefs of Police are not the rank and file beat guys, I can see where the brass would hold the Chicago line while the grunts who do the actual work may not be so inclined as to drink the cool-aid.

Eye witnesses may make a big difference in the Zimmerman case, (are there any) but it bears very little resemblance to the one you bring up.

How about the case in Texas Nov. 14, 2007 where the 61 year old shot and killed two burglars in the back as they were leaving his neighbor's home, with a detective watching while he did it?  (Joe Horn) He was on the phone with LE, them telling him to stand down, a plain clothed detective in an unmarked car at the curb watching and waiting for back up when Mr. Horn ordered the two men to halt and then proceeded to kill them when they refused.  http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/story?id=5278638&page=2 Mr. Horn was "No Billed" by the Grand Jury.
