Took my concealed carry class at Guns And Leather
THE COOP replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I took the class in July at G&L and now I have my HCP, the class was taught very well and if your wondering if you or your wife will pass just pay attention in class and focus during the range test. When I took my class there was 2 60+year old woman who had never been around firearms and both passed.... Congrats!!! COOP -
Daniel, is it still a no go on rifles (EBR)? I would like to try mine and see if I got the bugs worked out.... COOP

My vote is for the P239, my girl friend has small hand and the P239 fits her very nice, I'd let her have it but she doesn't want her own gun and says that's why she has me (for protection) look in the classified a few for sale right now!!! COOP

HCP and a gun shop question???
THE COOP replied to THE COOP's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Thanks guys, just want to make sure now that I have a HCP, I'm just used to having everything unloaded and separated from befor I got my permit... COOP -
I wasn't sure about this so I thought I'd ask, when you go into a gun shop and you have a HCP and your carrying are you sopposed to unload before you go in or is it ok to carry loaded? Is it gun shop specific? like G&L, On Target, Guns of America? COOP

Need AR-15 trouble shooting help...
THE COOP replied to THE COOP's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Well I got my chamber brush and tore the whole thing apart, cleaned and lubed and now ready to shoot but havent had time this week but maybe Friday. On a side note I ordered The AR Survival Kit from CMMG which includes about everything, pin, springs, hammer and a bunch of other parts and a day later they email me and say it's backordered for up to 3 weeks!!!! WTF!!! Why dont there web site say if it's available or not? If you go online and order a computer from DELL.COM we build it and ship it to you within a couple of days but we dont sell something online that isnt available and then backorder it after we take your money!!! Sorry for the rant!!!! It just burns my A*S... I should have ordered from one of the sight you all told me too!!!! COOP -
Congratulations, I got mine last week and made 1 trip to Wally World at 4:00am after I got off work, I open carried and no one really noticed!!! COOP

THE COOP replied to THE COOP's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Thanks for the offer Jeff, I think tomorrow I'm going to go get a chamber brush and do a good cleaning and lubrication and may be my problem, after searching some cleaning and lubrication info then looking at all my parts there about dry with no lube!!!! Like I said this is my first AR and I've only had it a few days. Not sure where I'll shoot it because I dont really have a place, maybe the rifle lanes at On Target? COOP -
Hey whats up stueym? Didnt have time to go to On Target this week due to having to work 12 hour shifts all week and all I did today is relax but will be making a trip up to G&L in the middle of the week and I'll give you a call... COOP

I think people carry and have guns for different reasons, I like Sig's and I have some Sigs I dont carry or shoot very often like my P6. I personally dont like POLY guns and dont own one, when I carry my P239 I have a spare mag with me and it's kind of my weekend carry gun, so my point is not all people who carry want or need 10+ rounds and not all people want a lightweight gun. Some people just like SIG'S, GLOCK'S, XD'S, KAHR'S 1911'S ECT, ECT. COOP

THE COOP replied to THE COOP's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
ALL!!!! Thanks for the info, I'm ordering a kit with a firing pin and springs, also going to do a thorough clean and lube and test it tomorrow to see how it shoots. One more question, where do you AR guys order your spares from that have quality parts and a good price? COOP -
Thanks for the info and I'll keep an eye out for any trouble but so far the gun has been flawless and hopefully it will be as dependable as my 30 year old P6.. Jeff, buy it, own it and shoot it!!! Let us know how you like it.. COOP

I dont think my buddy would let me swap a bunch of parts, his M&P is brand new and has about a thousand dollars in accessories, I think he loves his AR more than his wife.. LOL. Now my AR is pretty dry and I dont know all the lubrication points yet but will look for a manual and get it lubbed properly. Here is some more pictures and again thanks for the help.. COOP -

I'll take some more pictures in a while, unless I'm sick from a Titan loss then it will be later today!!!!! Thanks all for the help!!! COOP -
Just curious what QC issues you're talking about? I know theirs been a lot of discussion about slide ware on the P239's and I knew that when I bought it so I ordered the light slide guide when I bought it and now use it on all my hand guns and I can tell you that after about 750 rounds through my P239 is is absolutely no ware on the guides or any where else on the gun. Not trying to debate just wanted to post my experience... COOP

Hey all, so I got to shoot my new to me AR today and had some firing problems, now just so you all know I'm new to an AR so I've taken some pictures and hopefully someone can give me some advise, about 1/4 of my rounds wouldn't fire, the firing pin did strike the primer but IMO they didn't look like a good strike and I can post pictures of the unfired rounds if that would help, a few of the unfired rounds were put into my buddy's M&P AR and fired with no problems!!! I'm just guessing but maybe I need a new firing pin? Could it be wore out? My AR is a pre band DPMS lower with a DPMS upper. Here's some pictures and thanks for the help!!! COOP

I was in your same boat a few months ago and my first gun was a .38 special but I wanted a semi auto so started doing a lot of research and ended up buying a M&P .40 but to me it was to big for CCW so I posted a thread looking for the perfect carry in .40 cal, I had to save a few more bucks but I ended up buying a Sig P239 in .40 cal and this is the finest hand gun I ever owned... Absolutely trust it with my life..... COOP
